John Oliver is always fun. I am a little uncomfortable with the way he basiclly uses his HBO money to troll and dominate something in a way that basically wipes out the rest of the participation. But I can't deny that he's very funny and that costume was fantastic.

Last night, after the 10-year retrospective special had aired earlier, during the regular show Jimmy continued to chat with Higgins and the Roots about old memories, including a bit from SNL that Jimmy did with Mick Jagger.
I found it on YouTube, and really enjoyed seeing how delighted Mick Jagger was by doing the bit with Jimmy. I'd never seen Jagger so likeable before:

And Jimmy is just a kid.
Well, it aired December 2001, so Fallon was 27.
Jagger was 58, and does not look any younger, although I think he stopped aging after that, heh.

Last night I watched Rachel Dratch doing an impression of that awful Australian "break dancer" Raygun who was in the Paris Olympics.  Rachel was hilarious!  I hope to see her doing it again on SNL.

I read that NBC is cutting "The Tonight Show" back to 4 nights a week...I always enjoy Jimmy's "Thank You Notes" on Friday night, wonder if he will do them on Thursday night...

It's been that way for at least most of the last season.
He's been doing Thank You Notes on Thursday nights, although not this week.
Maybe they're not doing the TY Notes anymore?

They did it last night. It's their signature bit. It's not going away.

Jeff Goldblum was on last night (Nov 12).
I love him (I'm sure we must at least be distant cousins), and as a child in the 60s I loved watching The Wizard of Oz every year (no streaming then), so seeing Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard was perfect.

The clip of Wicked they showed began with the giant Wizard face — which reminded me of Goldblum in The Fly
And then, when the Wizard realized Elphaba was there, and he came out from behind the curtain as a man in an emerald green suit, vulnerably and incredulously asking "Elphaba, is that you?," I burst into tears.

Okay. This link/video should start at with that part of the interview:
