S03.E07: L.A. Story

Recommended Posts

For all the talk about a Boston accent unless they also have a Hawaiin Gardens Duffy sure was talking like she did work in LA. Teresa's grandmother going with how she didn't rat out some school kid was the family supposed to be mobbed up?

In any case undercover as a counselor to get an addict inside that is a bad thing in my book.

Looks like Reacher went straight to a gun store - or an ATF impound warehouse- from LAX

The skill from the first movie returns. I guess he will blow the raid but of course an army of bad guys who are set up to firefight federal agents for a diversion are so easy to find

Okay, I know it's mainly been joked about on the internet and not a real idea yet, but after all of the talk about Alan Ritchson being a potential Batman in the next DCU, it kind of feels like he's been using this season as a possible audition reel, with Reacher's quest for vengeance, butting heads with the law, and feeling the guilt over the loss of a protege.  Main difference is if it does happen, I don't see Batman sleeping with Jim Gordon!

Figured pretty quickly that the salvage yard was going to be a set-up, since Quinn probably still doesn't trust Beck, and that it was going to blow up in the ATF's face for not sending any agents to the manor instead.  But since Neagley is tailing the actual buyers, I'm guessing this is all going to end with her somehow getting into the manor and protecting Richard until Reacher (and the gang?) show back up.

Definitely think they are setting Beck up for a noble sacrifice, due to all of his scenes with Richard and expressing his regret for the way things played out.  I guess they could shake things up and really have him just go to prison for life instead.  But right now, I'm still putting money on dying in Richard's arms!

Neagley all proud of herself for sussing Reacher/Duffy out, but considering all of the main woman leads each season end up being his love interest, that's really not a hard pattern to follow....

Finale next week, so I'm guessing we'll be getting a lot of cracked skulls.  And Reacher vs. Paulie: Round 2.  And at least someone is going into that coastal dumping ground.

The ATF director was wrong in his strategic plan.  However he was right in the dressing down he gave Duffy and her partner  about their actions. They did do it off the books, two agents did die as a result, lots of other bad things happened.   They should be fired.
I would think the ATF director should have recognized Reacher’s name.  His exploits should be famous in the alphabet agencies by now.

My money is on Paulie being the one to go into the coastal dumping ground. I don't see Reacher just shooting him. Paulie or Quinn is going in. Although Quinn survived being dumped in water before...

Knew the info Quinn fed Beck was a trap. He doesn't trust him, but to make sure, have the ATF show up, you're the only one I told the buy was happening there, so you're the mole.

Why the hell would anyone assume Quinn would tell Beck the truth? It would have been far cooler if Reacher figured that out and laid a trap at Beck's house.

This show has a remarkable lack of satisfying moments. Lots of twists and turns but little pay off.

If nothing else, the ATF director showed a remarkable lack of interest in Reacher. I assumed the director was a mole, and will inform Quinn, but really, it wouldn't matter either way I suppose. It's all in motion now.

Duffy's CI being a retired Army CID officer was the least of his concerns. He did have a couple of rogue DEA agents in front of him with both agencies having a dead agent. How he kept the FBI out of this mess is questionable.
