LoveLeigh March 16 Share March 16 This is another great episode. I love how both Alex and Spencer had to run to get on trains. They both are so determined and face so much danger along the way. With only 4 more episodes left... I am already sad to see this series end. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8608782
RedHawk March 16 Share March 16 I want more scenes with Alex, and Spencer, and Alex and Spence together. There's not been enough Alex this season at all and I'm getting tired of it watching them in peril on their own every episode. That said, I did love how each had to run for a train and barely made it aboard. Great job of filming and acting. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8608859
Chit Chat March 16 Share March 16 Murphy's Law keeps hitting Alex & Spencer over the head! Seriously, can they not catch a break? I want to see Spencer get home and help save the ranch, sooner rather than later! Whitfield is one evil man. He wouldn't even cover the poor prostitute with a blanket. It appeared that Banner is beginning to see what an a**hole his boss is. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8608861
Marley March 16 Share March 16 This show is pissing me off just have Spencer get to fucking Montana already. It'll be more interesting once he gets there but he probably won't until the end. Taylor Sheridan fucking sucks. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8608886
Snazzy Daisy March 17 Author Share March 17 So, the "Train Station" stems from Donald Whitfield and the Dutton clan continues the tradition. Does Taylor Sheridan know that capitalism goes beyond ski resorts and airports? He seems to be suffering from tunnel vision. 🙄 Zane undergoes a brain surgery and 10 minutes later he's back to normal. Okay. 🙄 What's with that sloppy bandage on his head? FFS. Just get Spencer and Alex to Montana already!!! 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8609341

pezgirl7 March 17 Share March 17 I don’t understand why Spencer jumped off the train in the middle of nowhere. Why didn’t he just push the dead bodies off the train and stay on it? Or why didn’t he just jump off the train earlier as soon as the group threatened him? I do like seeing him get out of the scuffles he gets into so skillfully. He’s a badass. But I’m afraid his luck is going to run out at some point. I wonder what Alex is going to do for money now. I don’t think the mugger took her wedding ring so she might have to sell it. sadie March 17 Share March 17 Same complaint I’ve had all season. How many super evil mustache twirling villains can Spencer meet? Explain to me why the bad guys needed him to drive the booze truck? They had like 50 guys and the address of where it was going and put one of their guys in the car with him? And don’t get me started on the train hobo thing. Sigh. Alex is a total bad ass however. Her walking thru that train car with her head held high was so good. Can we please just get these two to Montana already. I love the slivers of life out on the ranch and how hard things were. We all know the Duttons keep their land, so the stakes for it being taken away from them are pretty much zero which reduces the tension in watching. It’s the journey, not the end result I guess, which is the fun. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8609669
Chit Chat March 17 Share March 17 If Spencer and Alex were to write a book about their adventures, here's some titles I was thinking of: Spencer & Alex: The Endless Journey Spencer & Alex: Ships, Robbers & Hobos. Oh my! Spencer & Alex: How to Avoid Beatdowns & Shootouts When Traveling. Safari Tips: Finding the Best Tree to Have Sex in While Avoiding a Lion. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8609722
Thumper March 17 Share March 17 (edited) Yeah, I don’t worry about Spencer because he has Ninja powers. Alex is a badass. I was pleased to see that they actually made her look rough after the beating, since she looked fresh as a daisy after spending weeks(?) on board the ship with the “lower class.” 🙄😁 Edited March 17 by Thumper 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8609996

Expand I guess I just figured they wouldn’t be discovered because they were in the middle of nowhere. It’s possible someone in the caboose might see the bodies, but I’m not sure they could do much about it until they got to a station. I have a feeling the train didn’t have a wireless radio since they were fairly new at the time. Spencer could just jump off the train undetected at night before they got to the station. Also, with the bodies left on the train, and that one officer knowing that Spencer hopped on the train, I’m worried that he’ll be wanted for murder now. By pushing the bodies off, he’s basically getting rid of the evidence. Assuming the bodies stay undiscovered for a while. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8610186

Expand He could've thrown one off every few miles! I don't know if that would've helped or made it worse, but knowing Spencer's luck, there'd be someone lurking in the bushes (another hobo, perhaps) and he'd be caught and hauled off to jail. Seems like he's always in a no-win situation. I'm with you though. Maybe he should've ridden it out and jumped off in the dark of night. Oh well, the writers want to make this journey as long and painful as they can! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8610498

Dutton's lives are hard and they have no time for travel brochures, Harvey House suppers, or side excursions to see the the World's Biggest Ball of Twine in Kansas. Duttons may die but we do not stop until we complete the journey. Some say that our ancestor, Henry Hudson Dutton, did not disappear, but is still searching for a Direct Passage from Nova Scotia to Bozeman. I don't have much to say about the episode itself, except that I really hope that Creighton finally realizes what he's done in tying himself to Whitfield. 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152421-s02e04-journey-the-rivers-of-iron/#findComment-8610790

Affogato March 19 Share March 19 I read the comments but I’m now two episodes behind. Enthusiasm is low. I really don’t care about Spencer and Alex and dislike the idea that he will come back and save the farm/ranch. I’d talke more Dalton having kinky sex any day. Just me, I guess. millennium Thursday at 02:39 AM Share Thursday at 02:39 AM (edited) Is it just me or is NOTHING happening on this show? I think Odysseus made it back to Greece faster than Spencer getting to Montana. And the hobos ... a few episodes ago, Spencer was winning bare-knuckle fights on the ship. Now I'm supposed to believe he can't dispatch a couple of winos and a little girl-thing? He didn't even have to kill them. He could have booted them right out the door.
