Relationships implode in the aftermath of a big regret; following a tough decision, one participant makes an unexpected discovery about her fiancé.

Aired 2.14.2025

So glad Alex' spidey sense kicked in & he sensed something was off with Madison. She was so damn manipulative. I know it may have been due to previous trauma but that doesn't make it ok. I wish they'd do a better job of screening out the blatant narcissists.

I hope Meg & Mason are able to connect on the outside & that she feels better about their connection after watching the actual conversations. Yes, he could've been more clear & decisive but he never considered Meg his backup like Madison tried to portray.

I predict Lauren will quickly regret "winning" David.

The Taylor/Daniel situation is interesting. Guessing he learned that she was also cast for the show from a mutual friend & did a bit of stalking. I'd be weirded out too.

Joey & Monica at least looked happy when they saw each other.  I hope they work out.  I am not sure if I have much hope for the other couples.

It was strange we spent so much time on the couples that didn't even get engaged.  Meg & Madison plus Mason & Alex were shown a lot in the pods.  I expect to get lots of scenes with them when the group do a big gathering.  Otherwise I am not sure why we got so much of those 4.

Daniel following Taylor on social media does seem interesting.  I would be suspicious too if I was Taylor.

Ben & Sara are probably not going to last because of political differences.

Dave came off as a jerk.  I see in the previews he is talking with the redhead he was also interested in.  I just don't think he is interested in Lauren.  I hope Lauren dumps him.  She is so much better than him.

Devin & Virginia were interesting.  I am not sure she is into him.

I will second the notion that this season has been surprisingly boring and as a result it might make more sense to have the episode threads shelved or merged and grouped by release weeks.

Usually there is some drama, some slow motion trainwreck, as well as some couple you are rooting for who have chemistry. Not so much this season IMO. Maybe that is what happens with an entire cast of Midwest Nice people.

The one piece of drama is on whether the one dude did some Instagram lurking and is now lying by denying it. The woman making the claim seems to have a pretty good memory of the guy's picture even if he denies that he took a picture with a drink, and his denial seems pretty evasive. I don't know how Insta works, but I would assume one could fairly easily establish if he followed then unfollowed her, couldn't you?

If I recall, when she asked, he said "I don't follow you on Instagram" (present tense), which allowed some wiggle room for whether he had previously followed her, then stopped following her.  I guess this is technically veering into "spoiler" territory, so to be safe:

Spoiler

I didn't see either one of them in any of the "coming up this season" scenes, so I'm guessing she elects to call things off.

I do have one disagreement with that post from TV Fanatic:

In general, I would have wanted more episodes of stuff from the pods, because that would allow better insight into where some of the true-romance and train-wrecky couples went right or went wrong.

In past seasons, there would be stuff said about a couple's conversations in the pods, and we wouldn't know one way or another who was telling the truth because it was edited out, when TPTB could definitively establish who was the liar (or more charitably, who was misunderstanding things).

With the season being as boring as it is, I tend to doubt that all the extra time in the pods will pay off.

It was interesting to see how quickly it went downhill when she was talking about that whole "validating" thing with Mason.

Yeah, I felt like Meg insisting that all was lost because she'll never know if he would have chosen her, is a bit shortsighted.

I don't know what to think about him. At first I was very against him, with his "So what is wrong with you?" opener, and the other comment (I think to Lauren?) about now that you're 30 you're old. But he really did seem to grow and become self-aware. So I'm conflicted...but unfortunately I predict a regression to his old, comfortable way, which is bad news for Lauren.

Bingo. That's what has made me suspicious. And his denials weren't very adamant, like mine would have been in the same situation.

It's also interesting, although they very rarely show it, to just see a first meeting go wrong or have no spark. When they keep showing up ones that were fireworks on the first meet, it makes it hard to figure what it looks like when a first meeting is bad or only meh.

We do not need individual episode threads for this extremely boring season.

I gotta disagree. The bad thing about one giant thread is that if you are not watching at the start when everyone else is, then you basically can't read any comments at all, because otherwise you are reading along with whatever episode you just finished and then bam, the next comment you read is someone commenting about something wild from the next episode that you haven't seen yet.

I imagine, though, that most people either a) watch all the episodes that have been released at once, or b) binge the entire season at once.

For either of those scenarios, individualized episode threads are sort of counterproductive because there's not much need to distinguish between what happened in Episode 4 and Episode 6, because 90 percent of people who saw episode 4 also saw Episode 6.

The main times when it seems to me individual episodes are warranted are the finale and the reunion. But maybe I'm projecting my viewing habits too far, or maybe there's more merit in keeping the individualized threads than I am seeing (though I tend to doubt it with this season).

Idk what to think. Are people really so obsessed with their social media that they'd remember this? I get follow requests and click ignore if I don't know them and would never recognize them if I saw them in real life. Even if I clicked on them and browsed their profile first to make sure I didn't know them....

It does seem kinda strange she would remember that but let’s be honest, if Daniel was a 6’3” stud instead of a 5’8” dweeb, it wouldn’t matter if she remembered him or not!

Love is Blind can’t win for losing. Last season was definitely a train wreck and I don’t think anybody stayed together, did they? People were complaining that LIB had lost its way and that none of the couples were staying together unlike season one. People, even on this board, we’re talking about, they wanted to see more of a love connection rather than volatile personalities and they wanted to see more of them connecting in the pods because some of the connections were definitely dubious. So, when LIB gives it to us, then people are saying the season is BORING , and we want more fireworks! You can’t have it both ways, people! Lol

The earlier seasons definitely did not show enough of the pods.  But this season had wayyy too much of the pods.  Or at least way too much of the same people in the pods.  I don't need to see fake affirmations from the same 5 - 7 people over and over again.

There has to be a happy medium between the 2 - 3 episode arc in the earlier seasons and the 6 episode slog that this season was.  Maybe what they could do is keep the 5 - 6 pod episodes but show us more people.  Every season always has more people in the pods who end up becoming background characters.  It would be cool if the show acknowledged some of those participants' journeys.  Even if it's just a 10 second talking head saying "I talked to everyone, didn't like anyone, bye!"

Also, the crowds in the women's and men's quarters really thinned out towards the end.  I guess if someone no longer has any connections, they drop off.  It would be fun if the show had a counter showing the remaining number of women and men left.

It sounds like Taylor's Instagram was private before the show (thus her receiving a follower request).  I'm guessing she probably knew all or most of her followers.  She mentioned that she had mutual friends with the follower request in question.  So this wasn't some obviously rando request that you hit ignore immediately.  She may have spent a good amount of time on his profile trying to figure if she had actually met him or not. Sounds like she granted the request (maybe due to the mutual friends?).  So I think it's possible that she would remember his profile.

On a side note: Taylor looks so much like Ashley Mitchell from The Challenge .  I wonder if they're related.

But what if a season does neither?  Can we call it boring then?  Personally, I would rather have drama over love connections (this is reality TV after all).  But if one or two genuine love connections happens along the way, that is nice too.

Overall, not the strongest start to a LIB season so far (as mentioned several times before).  I think the lack of diversity in the participants they chose to focus on has hurt this season.  I can tell the women apart but all of the white men with the short brown hair look identical to me.  I seriously cannot tell them apart.  It didn't help that so many had similar back stories too (struggled in school, kinda religious, etc).

Fingers-crossed for more drama in the second half!

I’m from the Midwest also so maybe I’m naïve, but I didn’t see how she was manipulative. What would be the point of her being manipulative? Would it be the ego boost of having two guys fight over her? Or maybe leading two guys on just for the fun of it? If so, why would she bother to go on a show that the stated purpose is finding somebody to get married to? She had a problem with Mason, whether it was warranted or not, but when she was in the pods with Alex, all he could talk about was what a nice guy Mason was, and it must be your fault for breaking up with him. That wouldn’t sit too well with me either!

The two couples who made it to the altar both mutually said yes. Garrett and Taylor (the nerds where the guy got a "glowup" that IMO was a no-up, and the girl wanted to go to San Diego) are apparently still together while Ashley and Tyler (black couple where he was supposedly a sperm donor for a lesbian friend) were together thru the reunion but are apparently now splitsville, according to the Internet.

I don't think it is very likely that the show will ever find a couple that will represent the lightning-in-a-bottle of Lauren and Cameron.

That said, I personally don't need them to. I am looking for some combo of the following:

1. A couple I can cheer on to make it to the altar

2. A couple that will be train-wrecky fun to watch self-destruct

3. A woman who I can wonder "hey, if I was decades younger, unmarried and on this program, would I possibly be interested in her without seeing her based on the conversations she's having with the guys on the program?" and seeing how her journey turns out.

This season is lacking in 1 and 2 for sure. No one stands out in terms of possible category 3 candidates, except maybe Virginia.

don't think it is too much to ask for there to be at least 1 couple who I can cheer on to make it to the altar, 1 couple were there is at least some intrigue about whether or not they make it and/or 1 couple who are going to be train-wrecky fun to watch implode

The way I saw it, Alex just genuinely wanted to talk about it, tell the mens' quarters perspective, and get her take on it.  She got very defensive and basically said you have to take my side at all times and just validate my feelings.  She was very snarky and dismissive of Mason, which was a huge red flag to me and apparently to Alex also.

No, people just want different things.

I personally don't care whether anyone ever stays together on these shows.

I want to be entertained. That comes in different ways. It doesn't have to be all drama. At best, I would like balance. A bit of genuine connection and drama. But, if it's one or the other situation, I don't these bland/uninteresting people with their bland/uninteresting discussions.

Also, i always point out that most people don't want this. They say they do. I just want to see people with common sense. Well adjusted people. Nothing but love stories.

The show can win if they actual bring on people with actual personalities, interesting stories, people that all mostly look the same, different backgrounds. There is nothing here for me to grab onto.

3 hours ago, HerkyJerky said:

I have to agree in episode seven they are having pretty boring, bland conversations but then I think to myself what kind of conversations would I have if I have a camera directly pointed at me?

It may be the same but that's what editing is for and why we don't usually spend THIS much time in the pods.

I think we're interesting chunks here. Like the black lives matter, sexuality and the issues with whether or not you can accept someone knowing your conflict and resolution styles conflict. It was just surrounded by a lot of stuff I wasn't interested in.
