So I was watching the 25th Anniversary recently and there were so many clips of actors in black face, especially in the 80s package. I’m surprised the acknowledged it!

I guess that means 50 years from now, well after I'm long gone from the planet, they'll have to blur out people wearing hats backwards.

This was probably the best sketch Robert DeNiro has been in.

I can’t believe they replayed Don’t Look Back In Anger. It was fitting but sad. If only John was the last one standing. He’d be such a funny old guy.

I think Garrett is going to be the next to go.

Chevy is still an original, FWIW. 

If it's Garrett, that would be sad (for me), but in no way would it be surprising.  88 is bonus time so if he's next, it was a great run.

Yep. In terms of people that have been on SNL since Day One, other than Coe, Garrett was born before anyone else.  George was born in 1929, and Garrett in 1937.  Of course people like McKean and Leslie were up there in age when they joined SNL, but that was well within the history of the series.

Long story short, George was the oldest and Garrett was second.  Everyone else was a little big younger.

Given the corporate HR across-the-board tends to be a lot more active these days, I would guess that the drugs of choice have changed and their consumption is a bit more discreet.

It was touching seeing Jane and Laraine holding up Gilda's picture at the Goodnights.

I'd say the drugs of choice these days are prozac and SSRIs.

It was touching seeing Jane and Laraine holding up Gilda's picture at the Goodnights.

I thought it was excellent.  There were sketches that didn't work, but that's what the show is all about.  Loved the music.  And seeing everyone so happy... except Lorne, but that's his default.

It's heartening to see old-heads like Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Will Ferrel, Adam Sandler, and Mike Myers still give 100% to sketches. They're rich and don't need either the fame or exposure. Respect to them.

My local affiliate went to their news, so I'll have to see the ending on my Peacock feed.  Either way, nice of Jane and Laraine to pay tribute to Gilda at the end there.  And if Chevy showed up at the end, that's great.  I have no issue if he opted not to participate in the night's festivities.

Shoot, sorry to miss those moments!  I’ll find on Peacock or YouTube.  We want to rewatch anyway.  What an enjoyable Sunday evening.  I started watching SNL in college and have such fond, fond memories of so many of those old-head talents.  I haven’t watched in recent years, I must admit.
