kickedinthehead February 14 Share February 14 Kreese and Johnny's scene in the hallway was one of the best of the series, IMO. I really hope William Zabka has more work lined up. 8 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8580513

I am ALMOST buying Kreese's redemption arc. Amanda going full-on fan was funny. It's interesting that she never choose to train herself, but remained "Karate Adjacent". I'm happy that Robbie and Sam weren't pressured to fight when they were injured or not really into it. There is so much more to Karate (or any martial art) than competition. I also liked how Eli and Dimetri demonstrate how being nerds and being athletes are not mutually exclusive, you can be both. (Or was that last episode? They are starting to blur together). Also, I KNOW this show isn't going for realism, but this is your reminder to wear a mouth guard if you like your teeth and want to keep them. Kel Varnsen February 16 Share February 16 As much as I make fun of this show that ending was pretty cool. And Chozen saying the heat thing isn't magic was funny. And I didn't even mind the fake Myagi. And I really liked how Daniel realized that Johnny's life and what he needs was way different than his and was ok with him being Cobra Kai again. 15 hours ago, marinw said: Also, I KNOW this show isn't going for realism, but this is your reminder to wear a mouth guard if you like your teeth and want to keep them. Yea. Like even one of those elbows to the face that Robby took would probably have been an instant concussion. Also if there were only 4 teams left by that point did the other teams really spend what must be thousands of dollars to fly to California to watch. bettername2come February 16 Share February 16 I always appreciate that Kreese does genuinely love Tory and want what's best for her. God, Johnny crying and yelling at Kreese was something I didn't realize I needed. I should've called Miguel taking over for the Cobra Kai slot and I didn't. But the way he jumped to his stepbrother's defense when Robby was injured, this is gonna be a good fight. I liked the dream Daniel had. The fake Miyagi looked really good coming in, less so when talking. I like that Johnny and Daniel both aired their grievances with their senseis. It was also good to see Daniel and Miyagi doing that back to back wheel fighting. Sam not fighting seems a little weird, but I guess I get her not wanting to fight Tory. I was kind of with Johnny on that - "None of the original Miyagi-Dos are gonna fight?" But it's not like the show's called Miyagi-Do. Robby and Johnny hugging, saying "I love you" and Johnny giving him that little kiss on the cheek was beautiful. Amanda going full-on karate was excellent and unexpected. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8582239
TigerLily20 February 16 Share February 16 I was calling things left and right in this episode, I saw Miguel coming to Cobra Kai from the get go when Tory was the only one, and Jonny going back, but as predictable as it was I loved it, I will miss this when it ends..... 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8582403

He wants to win, and he wants as many people as possible to witness it. Johnny and Kreese's conversation was long overdue. Good to see Kreese acknowledge that Johnny was doing great with Cobra Kai until he got in the way of it. That was a sore point with me ever since Season 2 ended. I cheered the biggest I ever have at anything in this show when Johnny came out with Miguel and Tory, revealing that HIS Cobra Kai was back! 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8585414

That Cobra Kai had a possible series finale with Daniel hitting a crane kick on his enemy, who was unknown to Johnny, from Karate Kid 3 and the Cobra Kai pennant falling to the floor never felt good to me. Stingray serving as a prophet back at the beginning of the season felt good. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8585431
tennisgurl February 20 Share February 20 Damn, that scene in the hallway between Johnny and Kreese was so long overdue, it was absolutely one of the shows best scenes. Johnny took that loss way back when like a man and could have gone on to do great things if Kreese hadn't been so cruel to him and I am glad that Kreese finally fully acknowledged it and that Johnny got to fully call him out. I have to say, I felt some strong sorts of feelings when he did the little bow to Tory and he and Johnny exchanged bows, as messed up as he is and as many awful things as he's done, he really does care about them. That ending was awesome, Cobra Kai never dies! I am so glad that it seems like Daniel and Johnny have made peace with the fact that they need different things from karate, and that's alright. Aww Miguel was about to throw hands over Robby getting hurt, we've all come so far. Superman fan Amanda is the best, I continue to love the huge deal that is teenage karate. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8586838
DoctorAtomic February 23 Share February 23 Wow, Johnny got killed in that interview. Nice footage of the movies. I forgot how much the actor playing Zara isn't that good. She grates. You all got to be thinking that Kreese is playing some long game. I didn't think they'd go for the big Robby match right out the gate. I don't know why they slowed down the camera work on the fight, unless the other actor couldn't hack it. 6 - 1 seemed a little much for me for the first round since Miyagi is mostly defense. I like the outcome. It's actually very Japanese. Great choreographing. I'm not sure winning the tournament really needs to be the goal, and it seems like Sam agreed with me. If they're writing out Robby not winning, I don't see how TPTB are going in the direction of them winning the whole thing. Looks like Macchio was a little affected in the scene with Mr. Miyagi. I would imagine that would be really difficult to get through. And Zabka bringing it. Wow. Everyone is digging deep. Thunderstruck? Oh, fuck yes. This show. I'm ready to rip my garage door out the frame. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8588815

Tanner Buchanan has that action star's background in a few martial arts. The big man Axel/Patrick Luwis however didn't have the pre-show training and part of the job was to make the unbeatable beast look good. The ESPN commentators made a point of saying how the defensive minded Miyagi-Do proved remarkable effective in tournament settings. But then the free fighting amateur boxing style scoring instead of the stop after a point is scored fencing style of the All-Valley should make a deference. We have under 18 characters running pout of time but I think the driving facter was the big 3 wanted Kreese to carry his bruises into the tournament and apologies to Tory and Johnny. Siver getting the tournament back up relatively quickly meant we didn't have a fighter age out or need to get back into shape after letting go of champion level training as Tory was about to do. Dobian March 7 Share March 7 (edited) "Can't you do the heat magic on Robby's leg?" "Uh, if that could fix a torn ACL, the NFL and NBA would have already patented it." Great setup for the championship fights. Tory to redeem Kreese and Miguel to redeem Johnny. The scene with Johnny and Kreese was the one everyone needed for the past forty years. lovinbob March 20 Share March 20 William Zabka was SOOO good in that scene with Kreese. And even Martin Kove was pretty good, and I normally feel he's a pretty one-dimensional actor. I would love to see Zabka get acknowledged with an award for this episode. He's always good in his comic moments (it helps that his character in the series is so well written), but he's got drama chops as well. This episode in particular he was just brilliant. (Sounds like an exaggeration esp. considering this is Cobra Kai, but I mean it!) 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151875-s06e13-skeletons/#findComment-8612498
