aghst February 11 Share February 11 Clearly they brought this guy on to stir up shit with Tsarina. Guy was criticizing his own mother’s cooking? So of course he’s going to think he can do better than his boss. But even worse, he’ll let you know he’s better. Not the way to win over friends and influence people. Marina’s story is the exact opposite, humbled by the financial struggles, want to move up to help her family. She also recognizes that her boss Lara was right about when to bring the food out. She wants to become Chief Stew but she’s not gunning for Lara. Wihan also shows humility, agrees that he talked too much into the radio at docking and takes one for the team with the disco helmet. Seems like a nice guy and likes Brianna. Poor Harry but looks like she friend zoned him already. Lara admits daddy didn’t give her enough attention and craved his approval. She’s using her yachting money to build a barn just for herself. Or until she meets someone who reminds her of daddy. Tsarina also is fragile so unleashing Anthony on hr is diabolical. 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8577784
Chatty Cake February 11 Share February 11 That sous chef is going to be a pain in the ass. Give it a charter or two before all the complaining. Brianna is pretty but a grown daddy’s girl is going to get old fast. The deck stew’s voice reminds me of Rylee from Below Deck a few seasons ago. Very annoying and knows how to do everything better than anyone else. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8577792

Baltimore Betty February 11 Share February 11 Marina fell asleep on the sub ride and the guest had to wake her up, that was sad because if she is this tired at the start of the season she will be comatose by the third charter! The guest wanted all the food on the table whether they are there or not made no sense at all, I could see if the primary's were at the table sure go ahead and start serving but did the primary realize that the stews would then have to start all over again serving the others as they made their way to the table? It would be like a round robin of serving. Tsarina is having a hard time with her sous chef because she does not know how to have a sous chef, she has never had to manage anyone but herself, I see her as part of the problem with her lack of professional experience, sure the guy can be an arse but she has to learn how to manage someone. He did well on the beach picnic, her ego might be bruised a bit, that also could be a problem with her. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8577856

He did well on the beach picnic, her ego might be bruised a bit, that also could be a problem with her. Exactly. She has no concept of how to manage someone. She needs to stop tip toeing around Anthony and stop taking his temperature every five minutes, asking him if he's upset or reassuring him she's not asking him to do her job. Just tell him what to do, period. Granted, Anthony has a point about her lack of organization, as we were reminded in the flashbacks of last season. But he's not helping anything. He could just go around and tidy and bring things out she's going to need instead of just standing there. And he's not actually whining behind her back, he's only expressed his frustration when prompted by other to do so. I think he's going to end up quitting. (The dinner looked great, the guests were happy and it's what they asked for. So shut it, Anthony.) That submarine would make me claustrophobic. It looked really tight. It's kind of sad Harry thinks he's out of Brianna's league. I mean, maybe he is, but he's a nice guy and he's not bad looking, and she said she likes him. He's got a rather low opinion about himself. 7 hours ago, aghst said: Lara admits daddy didn’t give her enough attention and craved his approval. I swear 75% of the women on this show have daddy issues, it's like they deliberately screen for them. 7 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8577970

It's perfectly acceptable to say what he said -- in his room, to his roommate -- about her organization, or even to her privately. But it's not at all acceptable to talk smack about her at dinner when she's sitting at the same table. WTF???? Way to build a working relationship, Anthony. For that alone, he's dead to me. And maybe he should look up the word "dissemble" when he's looking for another job. 9 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8577989

It doesn't look like the producers have to prompt him to talk trash about Tzarina. They knew what they were getting when they cast him, but they probably encourage him to speak up. He rolled his eyes that the guests said the food was great. Well not everyone is going to have his refined palate, his overinflated ego when it comes to food. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578072

Well not everyone is going to have his refined palate, his overinflated ego when it comes to food. See - this is what drives me crazy. Yeah, of course, in his mind, he had some more upscale "hoedown" or "American cookout" (or whatever they called it) themed foods, but, at the end of the day, the guests seemed very happy with what was presented. Sometimes, simple, well cooked food is better than anything fancy, at least in my opinion. Anthony spoke of short ribs and other things. Short ribs take a long time when cooked properly - they must braise for at least 3-5 hours for them to be tender and flavorful enough to serve. I suppose you could sous vide them to quicken the cooking time, but they still need early in the day prep. So many people always think they can do things better than their superiors, and maybe they can, but until you are in that position, you should keep your snarky opinions to yourself. I did wonder about the lobster tails, though - if you're doing true hoedown or cook out foods - she could have offered a different kind of fish, if it was available. Or, some kind of barbecue chicken or spare ribs (not short ribs). I did like his idea of the sauce bar - that's something I've been seeing lately. I think Anthony is digging his own grave. He should maybe approach her with his ideas and concerns, instead of talking about her when she's basically sitting three feet from him. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578088

Some seasons seem like they have that one crew member that is expendable like the Red Shirt Guy on Star Trek, some space monster is going to eat him first. Anthony could possibly be Red Shirt Guy. Why did Harry take his shirt off when he had to put on that costume anyway? Tsarina is not happy unless she is miserable. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578119
Pattycake2 February 12 Share February 12 So why isn’t there a rolling cart? It could stay near the elevator and be loaded with the prepared foods and plates and a stew could accompany it up to help serve and then return to the kitchen. Another stew could stay upstairs to make drinks, etc., and send the cart down with the dirty dishes and use the walkie talkie to coordinate and advise of special requests and other issues. Didn’t Jason say that the lift was to be used by the kitchen? At least everyone on the crew seems to be willing to work hard. That’s a change. 9 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578214
Back Atcha February 12 Share February 12 Many, MANY Episodes ... This series is one that I always tape (DVR). Last night, two taped--one right after the other. This afternoon we had TEN to watch...all marked "new" and all seem to be in order. This is in the Phoenix market. Anyone else? Anyone? Bueller? My DVR picked up a bunch of “New” Season 2 episodes that aren’t really new, just marked that way. I had to go through my upcoming recordings and delete a bunch that were set to record. I wonder if this happened in your market as well. I’m near Boston. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578380

This is where a chief stew's experience should come in to play to make things run smoothly when there are hurdles. Why didn't Lara come up with a plan like @Pattycake2 came up with. 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578508

Zaffy February 12 Share February 12 The boat's name is "Katina"??? ok... in Greek, Katina is a nickname for Katerina/Catherine.. but it also has the meaning of a very gossipy, petty, mean person. It is an impressive boat, but I can help giggling every time I see the name. 1 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578576
aghst February 12 Share February 12 Even if there was a rolling cart, pretty sure they would have gotten rid of it, just so they can repeatedly film the stews and others going up and down the stairs with plates. Remember, when they have a choice, they will overwork the crew/cast, not make things easier for them, because stressing them out is one of the goals. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8578662

iMonrey February 13 Share February 13 Bravo ran a marathon of Down Under Season 2 before the premiere of Season 3, that's probably why some people got them recorded. My TV app recorded the last episode of Season 2 and then the Season 3 premiere. Weird what various apps and devices see as new. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8579973

Nunyabiznis Monday at 09:29 PM Share Monday at 09:29 PM Happy to say that after only two episodes I am super into this season! I like the boat, love all the underwater shots, I'm enjoying having two people in the kitchen and I'm looking forward to more episodes. Hoping it doesn't devolve into a crew sex fest as it has for other parts of this franchise. This actually felt fresh and new for the first time in a long time. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151814-s03e02-too-many-cooks/#findComment-8583773
