Chit Chat December 8 Share December 8 Well, that was depressing. I hope Cooper will be okay. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8527698
mythoughtis December 9 Share December 9 (edited) This show could be so much better. Please remove the blond bimbos ( and that’s is the appropriate term for them). Please remove the widow whose husband has been dead about three days - I mean Cooper’s hand is still bandaged and his sister is still on spring break from high school. Are we supposed to believe that Billy Bob Thornton won’t go Beth Dutton on Cooper’s assailants? I really do not want to see death on almost every episode. Snazzy Daisy December 9 Author Share December 9 Jefe the pitbull is more considerate and well behaved than Manuel. Cooper gets beaten for just trying to be a good guy. Hope C is OK. Ariana, stay away from him! You may not be smart enough to settle the death-admin stuff on your own, but please try to be resourceful and independent. Quote “One beer helps me produce more milk.” WTAF? 😳 Angela spends $220K on Victor’s credit card to decorate the rented oil house. A bimbo and a leech, great combo! The continuous sexualization of Angela and Ainsley is annoyingly repetitive. It adds NOTHING to the plots. 😒 Nathan is right about Tommy/Angela’s reconciliation — it’s not a sustainable way to cohabitate. Cooper knows and Ainsley lives in a fairytale bubble. The tragedy that happens to Rick is far fetched. No truck driver will unstrap a truckload of pipes, leave them unsecured while someone is standing on top of them, throwing a tantrum. No one will kick a pile of loose pipes that they’re standing on. Silly writing. 5 episodes in, I have no idea why Jon Hamm and Demi Moore agree to be on this show. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8528009

That has an OSHA violation written all over it! Poor guy. That was a bad way to die. And that was dumb of him to be standing on an unsecured pile of pipes. 50 minutes ago, Snazzy Daisy said: Cooper gets beaten for just trying to be a good guy. Hope C is OK. Unfortunately, the guy warned him to stay away from her, but he didn't heed the warning. Not that he deserved to get beaten up, but that guy meant business and Cooper is a bit naive in thinking that he wouldn't carry out his threat. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8528167
WritinMan December 9 Share December 9 (edited) This was the worst episode so far, and my interest in this show is starting to wane. All of Sheridan's shows are kind of silly, but this is definitely the leader. There are so many huge gaps in logic and common sense. I still have no idea why Demi Moore agreed to be in this. This has quickly devolved into preposterous territory without any redeeming fun And every episode seems to have a long winded explanation of why people worried about climate change are fools and that Big Oil is actually a socially responsible entity. 2 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8528515
Cementhead December 9 Share December 9 And now we have the great Billy Bob Thornton reading lines about the ex's period and her PMS. That whole scene felt like it was straight out of something written in 1983. 2 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8528533
SeanBug December 10 Share December 10 Angela's new furniture looked like she went to Value City in 1989 and said, give me the Spanish Brothel set. Living room, dining room, the whole works. Also, Isn't she pushing 50? At least? How is she still having regular periods? I'm really tired of the family nonsense, too. Landman started strong but man has it gone down hill fast. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8528876

The average age for menopause (defined as 12 consecutive months without a period) is 52 years which means that the average age for a last period is 51. I’m not sure how old Angela is supposed to be but Ali Larter is 48. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8529206

Also it's incredibly misogynist for Sheridan to bring that up and I'm pretty sure he's not an expert on the female reproductive system. it was that no one was fawning over her redecorating nightmare and her pasta. It's obvious from her previous behavior she expects her looks to get her whatever she wants. And when things get hard she's out. Of all her personality issues, I think PMS is low on the list. It's like on Yellowstone, why didn't anyone just ask Beth if she was on her period when she tried to have Jamie killed multiple times? (I quit watching so I guess that happened a lot). 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8529288

It's Texas. And I think this was set in the early 2000's. We all know oil companies are investing in clean energy now. Plus, no matter how much we like it, people still drive ICEVs, and oil in its various forms is used in so many products it's insane. I just realized it's used in the form of plastic that makes contact lens. So we can convert to electric vehicles and public transportation but we won't stop drilling. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8529355
Cool Breeze December 10 Share December 10 Demi Moore was in one scene, briefly, and had no lines. Pretty much all Jon Hamm does is get in and out of helicopters and talk on the phone with Tommy with only the back of his head shown. Given the hints that Jon Hamm's character has high blood pressure and has to take meds, I can only think he becomes incapacitated and/or dies and Demi Moore's character steps in to run everything. Then we'll get to see her get in and out of helicopters and talk on the phone with Tommy with only the back of her head shown. 2 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8529522

This is not a period piece and so it is current. I just am finding the obviously inserted "lectures" to be off putting. Joimiaroxeu December 16 Share December 16 Bet Angela's ex will love her using his credit card to pay for stuff for the previous ex. Ariana is working Cooper. She's lining up her next husband and he seems to be okay with that. Ariana's dog is bigger than Cooper, lol. Beer helps a woman's body produce milk? Sure, and produce a future alcoholic. A patch party. Booze, oil wells, and recent high school grads seem like big trouble waiting to happen. BBT telling somebody they don't know who they're fucking with will never stop being fantastic. A waste is that huge private jet flying one guy from Midland to Fort Worth. Good grief. Look at Angela and Ainsley wearing actual clothes for a change. Yeah, Angela is way past being a MILF. And her problem is not menstrual cycle-related, it's in her whackadoodle head. Manuel is probably as good as dead now. Poor Cooper. Rick should've known better than to stand on those pipes like that. What a horrible and unnecessary way to die. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8534302

He wanted to help and she's come to rely on him. Instead of just giving her the help she needed, he hung around and did chores, making himself more involved in her life. While the other guy (Manuel?) was a giant jerk and wants to control his "friend's" widow, Cooper can't expect that he would back down after a talking to - in fact, I think that made it worse. Talk about unsustainable living situations! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150998-s01e05-where-is-home/#findComment-8536957
