Galileo908 November 26 Share November 26 Quote Colin and Nadja have a couples' night with an old friend, while Nandor and Laszlo battle the film crew that have invaded their neighborhood. Airs 11/25/24 1 Link to comment
Galileo908 November 26 Author Share November 26 So there's two competing film crews on the vamps at once. How recursive! Of course Gizmo is a fan of PI Undercover NY. Like, in the old school way. He made a fanzine! And most likely mods the subreddit (he mentions the subreddit haters). And of course Colin's the one that left a review calling it copaganda. Really loved Nandor becoming a PA, and Laszlo getting jealous over his sweated shirt. And gotta love the writers writing in a whole diatribe about how underappreciated they are. It was sweet that Nandor and Laszlo gave Guillermo their gear at the end. Weird how it all ended with Colin narrating it Carrie Bradshaw style. Ooh, a Nadja/Colin plot. Haven't seen one of those before. Zach Woods as Joel! And wow, his wife WAS into Colin?! (or "her vagina pulsates for you," according to Nadja) Your bedroom has to be super dead if you choose Colin. 8 Link to comment
Galileo908 November 26 Author Share November 26 It took six seasons, but Laszlo dropped a Succulent Chinese Meal reference! 5 Link to comment
libgirl2 November 26 Share November 26 I loved Nandor in his sweatshirt and Laszlo's jealousy. For being around for so long, they are just like children. The Colin Robinson thing was a big surprise to me! 8 Link to comment
thuganomics85 November 26 Share November 26 Honestly, I'm surprised it too Sean this long to boast about all the famous people that have used his bathroom during numerous television/film productions. That toilet has received so much famous piss! Can't remember the last time Colin and Nadja got paired off by themselves and like with Nadja and Guillermo, it's always interesting and unique since they don't do it often. Did not predict where that was heading at all and it made for some uncomfortable but hilarious comedy. Zach Woods and the actress playing his wife were good with all of the cringe aspects and, again, both Natasia Demetriou and Mark Proksch worked well together. The stuff with Nandor and Laszlo invading a production of a "copaganda" (tm Colin) series being filmed outside their place was more predictable, but still pretty fun. The writer/writers were definitely having fun taking the piss out of directors, actors, etc. and making sure everyone knows that writers are the true heroes of the industry! Plus, Laszlo discovers what a hoodie is! RIP poor production folks who were just trying to do their jobs and getting their necks snapped because of it. This business is rough! "Sexy City." Binging seven seasons of Mets games is even a lot for Colin to handle! 6 Link to comment

Is this a real person? Sounds like it's who Matt Berry based his character and voice on. This was fun. I expected Kevin Pollak to be featured a bit more, but I guess his part was significant. He really was a dick to Guillermo at the end. Loved all the praise to writers that the writers wrote. Nandor thinking A.D. stands for "A Director" was cute. Nandor: What are we shooting? Dogs? Criminals? Laszlo saying sweated shirts was great. Laszlo: Lay waste to their video village. When we see Becky greet Colin, I thought she hated him. Boy was I wrong. I bet everyone cracks up betw takes. Quote So there's two competing film crews on the vamps at once. How recursive! Is that what Guillermo saw in the after-credits scene? possibilities November 26 Share November 26 Nadja being the one to figure out what was happening before Colin did, was a surprise. Likewise, her deciding to actually behave in a way that would not be disruptive, because she genuinely enjoyed having a normal night? And her actually, truly knowing how to do that? Another surprise. I guess we saw that when she was enjoying her time with "humans from the old country" before, but I still didn't expect it. I guess Colin is savvy about office politics and Nadja is savvy about out of office social situations. The speed with which Nandor dropped his desire to kill everyone as soon as they gave him a job? Soooo funny. Also, fits with his loneliness and desire to be accepted. Everybody loves a hoodie. And yes, writers are the heroes. Everybody else is just a bumbling mess of ego. 2 2 Link to comment

ItCouldBeWorse November 26 Share November 26 (edited) From Vulture recap: https://www.vulture.com/article/what-we-do-in-the-shadows-recap-season-6-episode-8.html "Those particularly in tune with human comedy may recognize the reference baked into this week’s premise: Guest star Zach Woods and Mark Proksch were both part of the ensemble cast of The Office, so when Colin says that he and Joel worked together “pushing paper around” a few years back, he’s pulling Dunder Mifflin into the world of What We Do in the Shadows." Lud November 27 Share November 27 I wonder if Taika had any input with writing this ep. Comments about Hollywood, acting, directing and story line seem particularly Taika-esque. Plus, 20+ producers for a 30 min comedy (est. 22-25 min w/o commercials) points to a some extra expenditure, maybe? 1 Link to comment

Lantern7 November 27 Share November 27 I wasn't in the best mood when I watched this episode. I did laugh a few times, though . . . but the nitpicking voice in my head was wondering if the episodes were out of order. In baseball, Spring Training usually starts in late February, while "March Madness" takes place in mid/late-March. I should probably heed the words of Cravensworth's Monster: "SHUT! FUCK! UP!" I didn't notice Kevin Pollak until the credits. Sometimes, I hear his stand-up act, most of it involving doing impressions of co-stars. I wonder if he's now in the mood to try Matt Berry on for size. Was this the first time where FX didn't give us a teaser for next week's episode? 2 Link to comment

Man, that seems ages ago. 5 Link to comment
tennisgurl November 27 Share November 27 Its rare to get a Nadja/Colin Robinson plot, that was a fun surprise and it took me a minute to catch what was happening. I'm not surprised that Nadja figured out what was going on with the wife before Colin Robinson, she might not understand humans but she does understand weird sex stuff. Zach Woods is always fun to see and he and the actress playing his wife were very funny and very down for the cringiest of cringe quality. Also, Nadja is absolutely a Slytherin. You have to love when writers can really let lose and sing their own praises as loudly as they can. Nandor and Laszlo against the new camera crew was pretty fun, especially Nandor getting really into being on the crew with his big white sweatshirt over his usual outfit. It was actually pretty sweet that Nandor and Laszlo attacked the actor when he was a jerk to Guillermo and then they gave him their gear. He looked so happy! Nice detail that when Nandor and Laszlo were fighting in the trailer, they cut to the mirrors that weren't showing their reflections. 5 Link to comment

Traditional mirrors are made with silver, which may be why in folklore vampires are not reflected in them. 2 Link to comment

The last time I remember them doing something with mirrors was the episode where Nandor joined a cult. They had a big fight scene then in front of mirrors. It's so cool seeing things moving around in the mirrors absent the actors. I wonder how they do it. 3 Link to comment
Ceindreadh Sunday at 01:08 AM Share Sunday at 01:08 AM Nandor (re the sweaty shirt) "You're stretching it!" Lazlo (to camera) "Wouldn't be the first time!" I may have had to pause so I could guffaw for some time over that exchange! 3 Link to comment
