I definitely prefer this Lex with facial hair.

It's very Teenage Boy for the twins to be excited about Jamie Kennedy but...really? I enjoyed him in Scream but that's it.

Nat should be a kid not a weapons manufacturer.

Tom Cavanaugh is the tv reporter talking to Lex. I assume the show name Godfrey is his name but I've decided he's Thawne.

Honey I Shrunk The Slaughter Cabin? I'll go see that glorious train wreck of a movie with the kids.

Aw the boys are learning the ugly side of fame.

"Why are you doing this?" Thank you Lex. I have no idea why she's up your ass so I'm glad you're wondering the same.

Otis is dead? Honestly while I'm sure it was Luthor I can also believe Otis killing himself rather than testifying. His devotion to Lex is legendary.

Is Lex having an anxiety attack?

Wouldn't it be wild if Amanda was secretly working for Brainiac this whole time? Not enough episodes left in the series for it to happen but it would be a cool twist.

If Clark's not going to be Superman one day it makes me wonder: will his first heart turn out to be in tact like so many have speculated or will he accept his fate and train the boys to take over before that fateful day?

Of course Lex was filming the fight with Clark.

Jon, hon, if Candice wants to break up you have to accept it. Don't do that "look me in the eye and tell me you don't love me" nonsense. It worked but I don't care.

Ah so this was about getting the suit. The computer graphics did look a bit Brainiac so I'll take that as a win.

Ok the suit taking over Irons was creepy as fuck. Well done show.

The boys destroyed Nat's suit. Teamwork!

I wonder if regular treatments in that bathtub at the Fortress can keep Lane's heart juiced enough so Clark can keep his powers if only for defensive purposes.

So Lex does in tend on wearing the suit. Get training everyone.

My CW kept pixelating and losing signal. So, I think I missed things.

Can someone please explain to me what the deal was with Jamie Kennedy? I liked his show when I was in college, but that was 25 years ago. Has he done anything of relevance since then? I can't buy all the teenagers knowing who he is. I mean, might as well also say Carrot Top and Pauly Shore sent friend requests.

And thank you. Once again, I was trying to figure out who was playing the reporter.

I was most shocked to see Harrison Wells Glorious Godfrey in this show. But he was the perfect person to grant Lex Luthor an interview.

Also, it's weird that these kids know who Jamie Kennedy is.

I had a feeling we'd get the Lex Luthor power suit after referencing just about everything else that was up his sleeve, but to actually hjiack Steel's suit?! That's cold.

For such a smart person, Lois was shockingly naive about the fallout from Clark's reveal.  A whole lot of people are going to think she was (at best) able to build up her career because it's a lot easier to be fearless when Superman has your back.  At worst, she convinced him to use his powers to spy on the baddies for her, which is one heck of an unfair advantage.

There's not really enough time to dive into Gordon's usual comic associates, so maybe he's just a standard hack on this earth.

Calling it now - the finale will be Clark passing the superhero torch to his kids.

At first I thought he might have implanted Clark's heart into himself and his powers were starting to kick in, but then I realized that that's unlikely because Lex had been talking about building a power suit for himself which he wouldn't need if he was going to use Clark's heart to get powers. Although I think it would have been cool if it had been his plan to use Clark's heart to get super powers.

Damn, Lex has Dr. Curdle Jr. from Riverdale on his payroll!  He just goes by the name Milton apparently and is really good at tech instead.  Either way, he's good at increasing the creepy factor!

It was pretty obvious that Lois was walking into a trap, so it was hard watching her get outmaneuvered.  I guess I can understand why she let Lex get to her like that, but she should have known that nothing good was going to come out of it.  Especially since it was obvious from the start that this Gordon Godfrey guy was not going to even pretend to not be on Team Lex.  Tom Cavanagh was an interesting choice for the role.  A Harrison Wells variant?  Or simply just a way to give one of the more prolific Arrowverse performers a final send-off?

Despite Michael Bishop's best work, I'll still struggle to really care about the Candice character and her relationship with Jonathan, so all of that was kind of a bore.

So, Clark isn't simply just getting older.  According to John Henry Irons, he is destined to loose his powers at some point.  It does sound like there is no set point for it and he can still live for decades, so I suspect this is going to end with Superman passing the torture to his sons, and then Clark and Lois grow old together.  That would be a nice, if bittersweet ending for them.

Glad to see the Irons again and I hope they stick around for these final episodes.

Kent boys are going to have to accept that movie viewing; or really, anything out in public; will never be the same for them again!

Lex is now looking more like the business many tycoon from the comics and is possibly going to use John Henry's suit for his own nefarious purposes.  Combine that with Amanda matching him (maybe even overseeing him on some levels) in the nefarious department, and it is certainly looking good for him!  That said, he clearly is not over what went down with Elizabeth and I can see that playing into his eventual downfall.

John Henry said he'd gradually lose his powers, but at the end Clark added on the tidbit of his heart possibly only lasting as long as Sam's natural lifespan.  Realistically, that's another 20-30 years, while Lois should have 40-50 left.  Quite the flip of the usual worry of Clark long outlasting Lois.

Yeah, I was expecting the Luthor super suit, but I didn't expect it to be made from the Steel suit.  Clever the way they keep things connected on this show.  I still think this is probably the best Superman series I've seen.

I bet if Clark had known he was weakening and would eventually lose his powers, he might not have revealed himself to the world the way he did.  True, he was largely forced into it, but he also seemed to give up and accept it.

I honestly keep forgetting about her and what she looks like so every time she shows up it's like a brand new character. They keep putting so much work into that relationship and I don't care. I cared more about the doomed relationship between Jordan and Sarah. They could have had Jonathon still date his Metropolis girlfriend long distance for all the impact this relationship had on me.

For a show about Superman, the ultimate superhero full of hope, this season is such a downer. I agree that the ending is going to be his sons taking over but I'm actually not looking forward to it. Maybe if Tyler's Superman was an older Kingdom Come-aged version I'd be ok but it feels like they are cutting him down in his prime so we can have Superboy(s).

I did think it was funny that Lex now has John Henry's supersuit when he first came to the show we all thought he was that universe's Lex Luthor because he was using that Lex's AI. Full circle!

Between this and My Adventures with Superman, Supe fans have been eating well lately.

Sad that we only have two episodes left.  Seems like a lot that needs to be wrapped up in those two episodes.  Lex just shaved his head and got his power armour, and the show is almost over.

Lois knew she was walking into a trap.  Why didn't she have Elizabeth record a video in advance, just in case?  After Milton took control of the two Steel suits, and Clark busted out the window, why did the interview just end?  Why was the next scene of Lois and Clark sitting on their couch at home watching Gordon Godfrey slander her, even though he claimed he was impartial?  Why couldn't she have put out a statement afterwards?  Seemed like she just gave up.

I enjoyed seeing the Super Twins use their powers and work together to take down Natalie's armour.

I barely remember Jamie Kennedy, and I could be the twins' father.  I guess it could be explained away as the teens being big fans of horror movies (they were going to see one at the theater) and I imagine they saw the Scream movies.

Jon made a reference to El Debarge back when he was blonder in an earlier season, so either they pick up on their parents' 1980s tastes or the writers just really want to get those references in.

I can't even remember all the girlfriends anymore.  Before she showed up again in this season, I too had forgotten what Candice looked like.  For some reason, I thought she was the Black cheerleader who was Miss Popular.  Wasn't that girl a girlfriend at one point?  Or was she just someone Jon was interested in?

And Amanda still didn't really have a good explanation. Show simply wants us to believe she's ride or die with Lex "just because".

That would be a neat twist. And speaking of Brainiac...John Irons's suit uses foreign tech from a different world - literally.  How could Milton learn how to control the suits / rejigger it for Lex's personal use in such a short time?  Genius or not, it doesn't pass the smell test that Brainiac did all this from the time he staged the "car accident" to the end of the episode.  In-show, 1 day?  2 days? passed. No way he figured out all the tech that fast.

Lex Luthor truly is Lois's blind spot. So freaking arrogant (naive) of Lois to think merely having "The Truth" on her side was going to have her come out on top of that 1 v. 1 interview. She's so focused on maintaining her Reputation (trademark), she willingly walks into a trap, which a blind/deaf/mute idiot can see coming from miles away.  Tunnel Vision Lois is my least favorite Lois.

But how would that work?  It's not just Clark's heart which has Krypton DNA, it's his whole body.  Hence, Earth's sun "powering up" Superman.  How would the mechanics work to give Lex Super powers merely by getting Clark's heart transplanted into Lex?

Ditto about not giving a cluck about Jonathan and Candice.  But can I say again, Michael Bishop is soooo perfectly cast, I can't even remember the actor who originated the role. I'd like to see Michael Bishop in other stuff.

Was I the only one distracted by how dirty the bottom of Lois’ socks were when she and Clark were on the couch?

Three guys with super breath living in the house, and no one can be bothered to dust the floor?

Its not a Arrowverse show without an appearance by Tom Cavanagh! I'm not sure if this guy is going to be another Wells variant or if this is just one last hurrah for one of the Arrowverse's most notable actors before it leaves us for good, but it was nice to see him as this smarmy "journalist" who is clearly on Team Lex.

Lois really does lose some of her usual brilliance when she's dealing with Lex, normally she would have seen this "debate" as a set up right away, but she just HAD to tell Lex off to his face when he called her out.

I loved Clark going through Lois's response to take out all of the swearing. It was apparently a lot.

Is someone on this show pals with Jaimie Kennedy or something? Of all the celebrities that could have followed the boys, why him?

Lex is finally looking more like his classic comics self. Bald, a snazzy suit, and a power suit.

I hope that John Henry can find a way to help Clark keep his powers, and more importantly live longer, but I can also see him losing his powers and retiring from being Superman and passing the torch to the boys. Hopefully its after a ten or fifteen year time skip though so that Clark can still have some time as Superman while he's still pretty young, and the boys can be teens and young adults for awhile before they take on saving the world full time.

Why were there so many Jamie Kennedy references in Superman & Lois Season 4 Episode 8

Quote

Showrunner Brent Fletcher revealed that adding many Jamie Kennedy references was just a “random” idea that came to them.

Showrunners Fletcher and Tod Helbing recently sat down with TV Line, discussing the appearance of guest star Tom Cavanagh and the many references to Jamie Kennedy they had in a recent episode. They shared that they attended a Ween concert together, during which they passed by Jamie Kennedy’s house. Since then, the comedian has remained on their minds.

He mentioned that adding Kennedy references was just a random idea that popped into their minds. Fletcher said, “It wasn’t really about anything. It was just random, but the randomness made us laugh. I hope it isn’t mean. It’s just meant to be silly.”
