There’s the Shawn Hatosy we know and love! He was absolutely menacing in Voight’s office, with his eyes gleaming like a snake.

I’m really enjoying Kim’s newfound confidence.

I never liked Gloria, but I did get a little teary for Dante.

Co-signed. I found Gloria’s insistence to the last that she and Dante were the same felt almost like a curse, in the end. I don’t really believe they are the same, but I have no doubt it’ll mess with Torres’s head for some time. (I keep hoping someone will take him aside and say “Dude, she never even liked you!”)

I don’t know exactly how Deputy Chief Villain got the goods on Intelligence, but all I could think, as the Deputy Chief sat back on the couch, with his snake-like stare trained on Voight, was “Well, the fat’s in the fire now.”

(How are the upper ranks of CPD so stuffed with corrupt maniacs?)

With Intelligence, CIs always die!

I am more than happy that we will never see the annoying Gloria Perez again. She has ruined Torres for me. 😣

This is a heavy episode for Benjamin Levy Aguilar and he carries it well.

You know the Intelligence is very serious when they pull 3 whiteboards out. 😆

Adam being all judgy as if he has wiped clean all the unethical things he did in the past 11 seasons. Dude, come on. 🙄

Quote

“I’d like you and I to be friends.”

No, Voight. Don’t let Deputy Chief Reid owns you. You don’t want to be his puppet. He is either dirty or a result-oriented vigilante cop, like Voight.

The Intelligence should sweep their bullpen for bugs, pronto!

I need to come here more often for my own peace of mind.

I swear I joked a bit about how hilarious it is that Ruzek of all people was being so judgey when two seconds ago he was always doing something stupid. Like, I genuinely Belly laughed over that and just generally how serious they were taking this when we've seen higher stakes and this is like the third time someone slept with a CI... and you would think I shot someone's dog or something. I didn't even think that was a controversial point to make, and now the comment section of my review is just people mad that I said anything about Ruzek. Mind you, he's one of my fave characters along with Torres (who i also panned for his stupidity).

I thought I was free of CPD fans getting mad at me when Hailey left. Silly me!

I was so happy when Gloria died. Like, I felt bad for Torres because that ending was emotional, but that woman got on my nerves. I didn't like the storyline the first time around. They could have left it this time! I would have taken Anna back from the dead rather than more Gloria.

Good point about the bugs! Because he knew way too much detailed information. I can't even say it's a leak.. it reeks of surveillance!

This storyline was so stupid. But Benjamin Levy Aguilar definitely put the work in during this one.

Yeah, I have not been invested in this story at all and she's the big reason why.

Same. Last week was worse for me. Of all the people they could have brought back, she was nowhere on my list.

They have so many other things they could do for Torres. I hated this stupid relationship that never made sense..they didn't have any chemistry and she was always transparent about who and what she was. I hate storylines where characters are fools for lust.

Well thank god that's over, and I didn't even watch last season & still hated that storyline.

Despite that I really enjoyed this episode. It was well paced and kept my attention.

Adam getting all pissy was all kinds of hot & precisely in character for Adam. He shoots first then takes a breath. It's who he is, flawlessly flawed. I so wanted to see Kim chew him out, because you know she did when she followed him out of the bullpen.

Knowing that many of the Adam critics were also huge hypocrite Hailey & Judgey Jay fans just makes it funnier.

Voight's "I'm not your father, or your priest" was gold.

Kiana having the confidence to voice her opinion on Torres garbage was also great. And Kim not letting the lie continue was just that little bit of shade at previous Detectives' behaviour from the writers (you can't convince me otherwise), however it was very Kim like. She probably had cause to stop and think because of just being made Detective & potentially losing it just as fast but she didn't miss a beat.

Torres.... yikes, his mopey, depressing hang dog expression was old 3 mins into the episode. I am just not sold on him as a character or an actor. He's not doing it for me & I've tried to like him. The decision to give him this storyline, so early in his career is a wild choice. I mean there is fucking up & then there is this level of fucking up.

Oh boy Reid.... you are sketchy as all get out... and I am kinda digging it.

The twist could be that Cook - guessing that Torres is merely the tip of Intelligence dirty secrets - wants out and ratted to the Deputy Chief...

Many seasons ago, did Voight execute John C. McGinley to prevent the same situation he faces today?

Or she was a planted spy under the direction of the Deputy Chief.

That would be a huge conspiracy.... The original shootout involving Ruzek needs to be arranged so that Cook would arrive first. Then Ruzek would immediately bond with her and get Voight to recruit her...

Yeah, it's too complicated; I forgot how she arrived at Intelligence.

Good episode I guess. I’m not crazy about Torres to begin with, so I really didn’t care that his ‘girlfriend’ took a bullet. He’s a cop, how can he be that naive? He decided last season that she was just some lost soul who needed salvation and he was going to be the one to do it. Then this year, he figures out she’s the connection but doesn’t go to Hank. Rather, he tracks her down to…do what exactly? Rekindle their ‘romance?’ Then when the truth comes out about his relationship, he says 10 Hail Marys and asks God to make everything right? Spare me.

im not sure however that it’s fair to blame him for Cook being made by Gloria. Cook is inexperienced and I believe she did it to herself when she was in the car with Gloria and talked about tailing her home. That combined with her quick action and handling of the gun in the restaurant, raised Gloria’s suspicions.

I always suspected the deputy chief was up to something. Now we wait until January to find out what he wants from Hank.

I think people view it as she wouldn't have been in that situation &  they may have done something differently if they had all the information. If Voight knew that Torres had slept with her, or had gone to see her it may have been played differently Perhaps they wouldn't have gone UC with her because he'd tipped her off by visiting her that she was back on their radar.

Cook's mistake seemed a little contrived to me though, a clunky way to move the plot along?

That's my read on it anyway.

Oh absolutely things could have and would have been handled better if they’d known about Torres and Gloria. I thought Cook did really well with her first UC assignment until the car scene. But I guess they needed to have the connection be revealed. Overall I still like her so far. In fact, I’d like to keep her and lose him.

I'm loving her so far. I loved the attitude she gave Torres at the start too. The girl has moxie but doesn't seem arrogant & self serving. Hope they keep her this way.

I think you'll find they are the same fans.... they are trolls & they latch onto someone & go hell for leather, eventually turning to personal threats. The MO is the same & the language & style is the same.

I'm sad they've found your reviews....

OOOOO now this would be a good storyline! Kiana did seem pretty disgusted at the corruption at Intelligence. If only she knew how deep the rabbit hole goes... #RoyWalton

I'm happy that I wasn't completely correct... I thought that Gloria would die and the secret would die with her and business as usual. It's nice for once that someone prominent outside of Intelligence knows the secrets. Makes things more interesting.

Kudos to Kim for not lying with Torres. I actually thought Adam was right and completely justified in his response. He is the only officer in Intelligence who hasn't crossed the line with a female CI (maybe Antonio too?). It also reminded me that Adam and Kim are a couple. What impacts her, impacts him. He handled it well.

Torres may need time off after this.

I like Kiana.

The shootout scene was great. Same with Adam scooping up Hector. Love the camera work this season.

Question: How did Gloria know she was set up? I also realized she saved Torres' life, so she did one thing good before death.

The container with drugs was sealed with a white tear off strip. Most of the containers were unsealed or sealed with a green strip - so the shipment was largely fake

Was it known before this episode that Torres was so religious? Those multiple moments of him praying surprised me. Especially when he was praying for Gloria's safety. As the saying goes, "don't talk to God about the Devil's work."
