This show continues to be far more watchable this season.

I don't care about the plot holes or anything like that. It is now paced well with a decent amount of suspense.

I wouldn't mind the retired cop becoming someone who drops in now and then. We also got the question answered about Coulter's relationship with the sister — they were in a relationship when the younger sister went missing.

I wonder if Reenie's client is going to come up again in the future...seemed like it could be the setup for something.

That was an interesting twist to the episode, but an unusual way to bring it out to the fore.  You would think more attention would have been given to reports of rifle shots being fired at people in the forest, as I would assume he had done this beyond the two known murder victims and the hikers.

If the cop drops in from time to time, I sure hope he can afford to drive long distances.  An affable character, though.  Not the usual wound up ex-cop attitude.

How far from the camp did the 4th hiker go to take a pee?  He fell down, but they couldn't hear him scream?  TMI, maybe, but if I gotta go at nighttime, I find the closest tree outside the camp that I can hide behind.

Fine wine and coffee cups.  Mmmmm.

Jeez, Reenie, just open the trailer door without knocking; at night to boot.  You're lucky Colter didn't clobber you.

Add me to the list of the people who like Sexton. Colter could use a father figure especially given his own freakshow of a family.

This was a really interesting case. I really didn't know where it was going and it was a little overstuffed but still fun.

The scenery really was gorgeous. I can't imagine what it was like to shoot next to that waterfall.

I get false eyelashes are the standard now but can they lighten up a little on the makeup for Reenie? I shudder to think how much remover it takes to scrape off all that stuff.

Nitpicks: New Guy tells Colter that he shouldn't go after the shooter alone. Right. Says the guy who went after the shooter alone.

Also: Colter didn't bring his own binoculars? He had to borrow new Guy's.

The widow won't be getting the monthly cash anymore, now that everybody's going to jail. We have the weirdest justice system, all about punishment, and nothing about restitution. I know that's what civil trials are for, but still-- it really doesn't work. I don't know what the answer is, but we ought to figre something out that works better than what we have.

---

I agree it's weird to go wandering a long distance to pee, but I think maybe what happened was that because he was drugged he fell down the hill, rather than that he wandered a long way on purpose. Also, they deliberately did not respond to his cries for help because they wanted him out of the way so they could threaten the "traitor" among them. I don't know if a large dose of those meds could also cause confusion, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did, especially if he was also drinking. He was glassy eyed even before he wandered off, and they were saying he was totally wasted (drunk-- despite not drinking a lot), so he was definitely impaired. If you are given a drug you are not used to taking, don't know you took, and are in an unfamiliar place at night, I think it's not much of a strecth if you get disoriented and also if you fall.

My nitpick was that the guy who was clobbered in the head with a metal kettleball hard enough to be thought dead (and stayed unconscious long enough to be hauled to that lake) walked away from the ambulance with nothing but a small butterfly bandage on his forehead?  Without even a paranormal (sorry: preternatural) healer nearby?  😊

Well Colter walks away like nothing happened after getting shot/impaled almost every week, not to mention how he never has to answer for the mayhem he was involved in lol last week he shot at least 4 guys and was free to leave the area but it's a CBS show so we can't really complain right?

A pretty solid episode — lots of trackings, a couple of twists, not so innocent mispers and a breathtaking waterfall.

It’s obvious there’s a deep respect between Colter and Keaton. He can be a good father figure to him. Am glad that Colter doesn’t hesitate to ask for help on the Gina Picket’s cold case. Looking forward to see Brent Sexton again.

Are we gonna meet Reenie’s rich and risky new client in a future episode? 🤔

This was directed by Jennifer Morrison. I had hoped she would make an appearance one day as I was a big fan of the chemistry between her and Hartley in 'This Is Us'. But show seems to be set for Reenie as Colter's main love interest. Not complaining as I think Morrison did a pretty good job in the director's chair.

I repeat what I said last week: Hartley looks great surrounded by mossy greens and browns. But he was outplayed by the landscape, that waterfall was fantastic (and probably a nightmare for setting up shots). No complaints either.

The plot had enough twists to keep me entertained, and Sexton was a great addition. I do hope he shows up again because he provides a foil for Colter in a manner that characters belonging to the case of the week can't. That has always been my main gripe about the show. I've come to accept that Velma and Bobby will never get more than some brief moments at best (and maybe one special episode per season) since they can't be out in the field with Colter. Russell will not show up more than once or twice per season, so adding another character to fill in that gap seems like a good idea.

This is one of those shows where it feels like the writers sat down after season one and compared notes about what was working and what needs to change going ahead. Always appreciated.

I really liked Brent Sexton, too. I was worried at first that he'd be a bad guy, so I'm glad that wasn't the case. I enjoyed the interactions betw him and Colter, and I wouldn't mind him being a permanent addition, though I'm sure that won't happen. But I really like when Colter has someone working alongside with him.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I always figure there's a reason the writers decide to do something like this. It must be deliberate.

Writer 1: Then Colter pulls out his binoculars to look at the tree...
Writer 2: No, he borrows the cop's binoculars.
Writer 1: Why not use his own? He must have them in his backpack. He has everything else.
Writer 2: Well, today he forgot them. Ya see, when he borrows the cop's binoculars, it creates a bond between them. They're sharing stuff. And that leads to Colter trusting him to look into Mina's disappearance.
Writer 1: Gee. You're so smart. You should be Writer 1.

Wow, a crazy "lunatic" that only believes that people shouldn't be on his mountain every 2 - 3 years during a super moon. So why the heck was he shooting at Colter and cop guy during the day? Shouldn't he be just a normal sane guy, then go crazy 1 night out of every 1000 days?

That lady was such a "mama bear" to be able to pick that guy up and carry him to the lake.

I also think season 2 has made changes for the better.  Not sure if there is a particular source for this, but I have noticed new names in the credits this season - specifically Elwood Reid and Ryan O'Nan, who were producers/writers of "Big Sky."  (Ryan O'Nan also played Donno.)  Now, whether you liked "Big Sky" is a different story, but if they are driving any of these changes on "Tracker," good job.

Something similar happened on season 2 of "Alert: Missing Persons Unit."  The incumbent producers or new producers wisely dropped some really annoying element of season 1.  (Nikki stopped promising to "bring your baby back," which is completely inappropriate to promise and she would always say that even if the missing person was 50 years old and she was not talking to their actual parent.)

The scenery is beautiful but it never looks that different, even when they are allegedly in a new town and state.  Except for the wine country episode.

CBS seems to have given "Tracker" a bigger budget this year, as I'm consistently recognizing guest actors now.  I wish the same were true for "Ghosts," but they seem to be operating on a tighter budget.

She was in the Season 1 finale — it’s not out of the realm of possibility that she could return at some point.
