I’m very tempted to skip this episode given that original L&O just did an episode about campus protests and it was trash, I’m afraid this episode will just be a repeat of that and more of a political statement than an episode. If it wasn’t for the fact that I missed last week’s episode and thus haven’t seen the new agent who I hear is terrible, I would probably just skip this one because I’m sick of heavy handed episodes about campus protests. 
Maybe this will be better than L&O’s episode but I’m expecting the worst.

Much better than I expected - I was expecting a politics fest at the start, glad it turned into a classic drug case and then the twist at the end that the frat leader was the actual killer was a good one, I didn’t see it coming that the victim wasn’t involved in drugs and the frat guy lied the whole time, good twist and a good investigation.

So I guess Jubal will be out the next couple of episodes - he deserved his suspension honestly, he should know better than to get his kid special treatment like that. He screwed up and his whining at the end to Isobel irritated me, a rare time I was annoyed with Jubal - Isobel was right to stand firm. Jubal is usually very by the book so this kind of felt OOC for him. It will be interesting to see an episode without him, as he is kind of the guy who everything runs through and coordinates everything. Interesting seeing him get out in the field and shoot someone tonight.

The new agent barely had any lines, she didn’t make an impact at all, I missed last week so I have no opinion on her yet.

So overall a good case and investigation but Jubal’s whining annoyed me and I’m a bit sick of his kid drama - it’s getting almost as annoying as Jess LaCroix’s kid during his tenure on MW.

Good old Hudson U. Maybe FBI and L&O can do a crossover episode.

I’m totally over Jubal. “Is this really necessary?” “Sorry kid,  but you are” that special. Sorry Jubal, but nope, he’s not. He’s special to you. He’s not more special than the other kids otherwise. Maybe some of them also have goals that arrests will interfere with. Maybe some of those you’ve arrested over the years had goals just like your kid. Parents who also cared about them but had no strings to pull. So yeah, it’s necessary. All the more so now that you’re saying you’d do it again too.

I was impressed with the actor who played Freddy, especially the sense of evil he emanated at the end when it was revealed that he not only beat the victim to death, but he had manipulated the FBI. 
So I looked him up on IMDb and saw his name is Micheál Neeson, and, yes, his father is Liam Neeson. Also, his mother is Natasha Richardson, so he's descended from Redgraves.

I knew 10 minutes into the episode that Jubal's actions with the NYPD would come back to bite him in the ass. I also agree that family drama takes away from storylines, and these protest episodes are so redundant.

I think the makers of the show are just trying to save money not having every actor in every episode (kind of like how some actors are missing in FBI Most Wanted from time to time).

To be honest if that was my kid I would have let him go to jail, he does nothing but make poor decisions and get away with them.

Wasn't Jubal suspended once before, or did I just dream that? Maybe it had something to do with his alcohol problem?

I didn't even notice that was Jubal's son until he mentioned it since the kid is so boring. With Jubal out who'll do the "listen up people" and "throw it up" shtick? 

They shook up the opening and cut to the dead body instead of the usual murder/rape/torture sequence. Since they referenced Hudson U the show must exist in the L&O universe.

The perp was good but he looked kind of old.

Doesn't CBS/Paramount+ realize the novelty of it would boost ratings and maybe get an Emmy nom or 2, not to mention giving us all some much-needed comic relief?

The "FBI" series is considered part of the "Law & Order" franchise, as both are created by Dick Wolf and share a similar crime-focused narrative, with crossover appearances between characters from different series within the franchise sometimes occurring; including "FBI," "FBI: Most Wanted," and "FBI: International.

Hey Jubal, abusing your authority and cutting corner are two very different things. The best part is…your ungrateful, sh!tty son doesn’t even appreciate all the things that you’ve done for him. You should’ve let him fall and learn to face consequences of his own actions.

Hey show, enough with Tyler!!! Keep him off screen for as long as you can. He is a boring, irredeemable character. I don’t understand why they keep shoving him down our throats when his sister is totally forgotten. FFS. 😒

The story would have been improved if they had shown that Secretary Willis was involved with the drug smuggling and complicit in the murder. 

Yes, Scola's new partner is as wooden as a cigar store "decoration".

I like Jeremy Sisto. But the character of Jubal is the biggest waste of budget and airtime in the show. I'd be happy if he was gone for good, never to be seen again. He serves no useful purpose and is treated like a VIP in the FBI.

What???  An entire episode without a foot chase?

I see now why they don't ever show NYPD doing any tactical stuff.  That bunch couldn't hit the side of a barn from inside the barn.  And the FBI SUV is going to be in the body shop for at least a month after that shootout.  Let's hope Isobel gives them some square, boxy sedan in a hideous color.

The new partner for Scola said about 5 words (fine with me - can't wait till she's gone) but I LOLd when she put her foot on the arm of the bad guy to hold him down on the ground -- she weighs all of about 95 pounds!
