KBrownie October 23 Share October 23 Seriously, GTF over yourself Tammy. And also? Cease and desist with the neck rolling as well. So much big talk for someone who has been dependent on so many other people for so long. You don’t like Amanda’s house? GTFO and get your own home. But where’s she going when she can’t even drive? She’s saying the right things lately and appears to have matured, but that old, nasty personality is still there not far under the surface. Amanda isn’t blameless and is abrasive, but she’s absolutely right to be tired of coddling Tammy. Brittany (this is the most I’ve heard her speak!) is certainly over Tammy. Good for her. Chris was terribly rude to her in that house. Then Tammy turns on the tears. FFS. She’s such a whiny crybaby. Amy too. It’s all Amanda’s fault. She, Misty (who Tammy also has beef with apparently), and Chris are all just big meanies to poor Tammy and Amy. The crying over the food with Amanda? So ridiculous. I don’t know all the history, but it seems like the older three have done a lot for Amy and Tammy and haven’t got much back. The two of them are always the victims. Everyone else is always doing something to them. They need to grow up. Chris is a better person than me because I would have long been done. You can still be family and let them be responsible for their own lives. 2 9 1 Link to comment

You can still be family and let them be responsible for their own lives. That's the whole problem in a nutshell. Tammy and Amy have been enabled ALL of their lives. They don't know any different. They are both in their 30s and have the mentality of children because they have NEVER had to fend for themselves without their older siblings stepping in to take care of them. Even Amy being married and having kids fell apart as soon as she didn't have Michael there to handle everything. (I will never buy their narrative that he never helped with the kids.) She didn't work but couldn't keep their house clean even before the babies came. But she could get on the blogs with Tammy and basically act like a couple of teenagers. I think the older siblings need to step back and really let Tammy and Amy handle their own problems and stop enabling them once and for all. If they fall on their face, oh well. Step back and let them pick themselves back up or resign yourself to being their caregivers for the rest of their lives. Edited October 23 by swankie Added another thought. 13 1 Link to comment

I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but I think the siblings are probably torn between wanting to distance themselves and wanting the paychecks for appearing on Tammy and Amy's show. 7 2 2 3 Link to comment
CrazyInAlabama October 23 Author Share October 23 (edited) I know the house next to Brittany and Chris looks bad, but I bet a few handymen, and roofers could have it water tight in a week or so. Rip out the carpets and put LVP or other smooth flooring, patch and paint the interior, paint the outside, and fix the water damage on the ceiling. The water damage looked like someone had already prepared it for patching. Get rid of the remaining window coverings, and put up decent blinds and get stock cabinets for the kitchen. It's really not that bad. Also, Tammy can't drive and apparently never will, so she could be living on her own, but still have people to check on her and take her for groceries and errands. It could work, but I wonder if Brittany could stand Tammy living there, and relying on them so much. That white chocolate alfredo shrimp was nasty, and only the shrimp was on her nutrition plan. I hope that was just for the show, and nobody was really eating that. Edited October 23 by CrazyInAlabama 7 1 1 Link to comment
BAForever October 23 Share October 23 Love this sh****** so much. Tammy and Amy are stuck in perpetual adolescence. That's why they expect others to do everything for them and get such pleasure out of burping and farting. Agree with @Gemma Violet, the lure of easy $$ is too tempting for Misty, Amanda, Chris and Brittany. Boy, can Chris not read the room? Brittany wants nothing to do with Tammy living next door. Amy's meal was nasty, and her kitchen is a mess, she's at least a slob and possibly close to hoarder territory. Going to the gym is a great idea, but the only way for any of them to lose weight is better food choices. Wonder if Tammy is plateauing weight wise. She has done well, but still a long road ahead. 10 Link to comment
CrazyInAlabama October 23 Author Share October 23 I'm wondering if Brittany thought the house next door would be fixed up and rented to the daughter and grandchild? Tammy isn't an easy person to live with. 5 2 Link to comment
LeesburgLee October 23 Share October 23 We saw a lot of Amy in this episode, but I don’t remember seeing Amy’s boys. Was I just not paying attention or has the overwhelmed mom found a babysitter? 2 Link to comment
Pi237 October 23 Share October 23 2 hours ago, BAForever said: Boy, can Chris not read the room? Brittany wants nothing to do with Tammy living next door. Chris’s interview. “Thankfully, Brittany is ok with Tammy moving in to the house” Cut to Brittany making the stankiest, most pissed off face of dread, ever. And, who can blame her?! I guarantee the majority of running and catering to Tammy will be put on Brittany, who already has a houseful. I usually like Chris, but his “..nor would I let any of your sisters be homeless..” was really manipulative. And he was extremely ‘Woman, know your place!’ To her in the house. Let’s face it, Tammy’s a nightmare to live with or even, near. I’d be dreading it myself. & lol at her saying it’s ’temporary’ Yeah until she pushes Brittany to her breaking point like she has all the other family members. I’m now understanding Amanda’s outburst more. What a job they’ve had taking care of Tammy & Amy their whole lives! And now, with no husbands to pitch in, it’ll never change. Amy really thought she doing gourmet cooking there. Yikes. 8 Link to comment

Shelbie October 23 Share October 23 That dish was one of the most horrendous things I’ve ever seen. The family is right. Amy can’t cook . I assume Amanda threw it out after Amy and the camera crew left. I wouldn’t even have tried it. 5 Link to comment

CrazyInAlabama October 23 Author Share October 23 (edited) I'm hoping since Amanda was in so much pain, that some of the camera crew dumped that disgusting waste of food for her. Edited October 23 by CrazyInAlabama 3 Link to comment
Gemma Violet October 23 Share October 23 I think throwing any and all things in the cooking pot was for show. I'll bet the container of food she brought to Amanda and fed to the kids was not the same one she cooked on camera. She threw enough garlic in there for ten pots of food. I over-seasoned something once with garlic and I couldn't eat it, and that was only over-seasoning a little, not a whole jar of garlic. No way could anyone eat it. Maybe one of the crew went pick up some Shrimp Alfredo at the deli and that's what she brought to Amanda's. I agree Chris is manipulating Brittany, saying he wouldn't let her relatives be homeless. He's taking advantage of the fact that Brittany is extremely religious and he knows she would feel guilty if she turned him down. The whole buy/fix a house for Tammy seems like a producer-driven thing. Amanda says she'll relent and let Tammy continue to live in the house if Tammy apologizes to her, but she tells Chris not to tell her to apologize. Tammy doesn't apologize. Magically, Chris just happens to have an extra house lying around. But is there time enough to fix it? Will Tammy have to spend time in Brittany's house against Brittany's wishes? Tune in next week. I think they're running out of storylines. 3 2 Link to comment
babyhouseman October 23 Share October 23 One of the boys, Gage I think, was behind the gate, and Amy said she was going to cook. Then he said, "Uh, oh." Probably edited but it was cute. 2 Link to comment

applewood October 24 Share October 24 2 hours ago, auntjess said: Would she understand the terms used in recipes? Probably not. As others have said, they seem very emotionally stunted. They seem more like middle schoolers. I assume it is because so much was done for them. They didn't really grow up and have normal lives after high school. I assume they never held full time jobs. Neither of them drive. Yes, Amy did get married and have two kids but she doesn't seem able to handle basic household duties (cooking, cleaning etc.). 9 Link to comment

I find it hard to believe that she REALLY thought she was near skin removal. I know Dr. Now is really up front with his patients about the weight they need to reach before they even discuss it. I don't believe Dr. Proctor would not have explicitly stated that the skin surgery was for the last 40 lbs or so above the target weight. I know in Amy's case it's just childish wishful thinking that she can have surgery, but given Tammy's actual active, ongoing success, planning how the next year or so would unfold would be the primary topic at any appointment, with concrete goals and timelines for completion of various stages. 7 Link to comment
BAForever October 25 Share October 25 I'm a decent cook- and always search for recipes like "easy lasagna", "easy breakfast casseroles". There is information out there for all levels, even beginners. Sorry, but agree with @CrazyInAlabama, her disability not withstanding, she's lazy. Anyone notice who cluttered the kitchen was? The counters were full of stuff. If she can cook, she can clean. And forgot about Tammy saying Amanda was jealous that she's not the pretty sister anymore? So who is? Amy and Tammy look older than Amanda. Forgot who mentioned it upthread, but wonder if Tammy will need hip or knee replacement. Watching her walk is painful. And I've watched enough Dr. Now, none of them (except Misty) are anywhere near skin removal. 7 Link to comment

Gemma Violet Wednesday at 12:40 AM Share Wednesday at 12:40 AM On the 'Supersize' version of this episode, Chris has a talk with Tammy and explains to her that if she wants independence, she needs to learn to drive. She continues to push back on that idea. Chris told her when she was 16, she couldn't fit behind the wheel, and now that she's 400 lbs lighter, the only thing stopping her from driving is herself. He also mentioned that, without driving skills, she'd have to live in a city that had public transportation. 5 Link to comment

I think that would be safer than Tammy driving. 2 Link to comment

It's funny how Tammy, who is always lumped in with Amy, seems to know how to keep her own house clean coming from the same background. Amy is just plain lazy, immature, and irresponsible. As for Tammy and driving, where does she need to go other than to doctors' appointments and the grocery? I seriously doubt if there's Uber or a taxi service where they live, and probably not even a public bus that could pick her up and transport her. Probably not a driving school, either. If her family members can't/don't want to/just grudgingly and resentfully help, then she really does need to move. Edited 12 hours ago by Dibs Link to comment
