Smoochies and a family hug. Welcome home Clark.

I like how he has a scar. He could have instantly healed without a sign but it's a physical reminder of what Lane gave him.

I know Lex thinks he's permanently killed Superman but you'd think he'd want to monitor Frog Boy as he's proven his recklessness.

I think Kyle and Chrissy came out of left field and don't fully buy them working without her pregnancy but the actors have established a nice rapport so I'm ok with it.

Clark geeking out over Jon's Star Wars reference was great. I like the father/Jon bonding while training. See, Clark? Even if you're ultimately back to your old self you did just get a heart transplant and even Superman needs time to recover.

My favorite Superman related thing of all time is how intimidated he gets when Lois gives him A Look. It's always so much fun.

Clark's feeling the wine for the first time in his life. I hadn't considered that. I officially want him to fully heal and get back to normal EXCEPT for the feeling the effects of alcohol thing. Seeing Clark Kent say things "that really sucks" was fun and should continue.

If Clark needs some easy I'm sure he could easily rent out the barn and grounds for events.

I love Kyle's instant judgement/concern over Clark having indoor grills but it seems to be working out fine.

I have to agree with Coach here, Kyle. Do not ruin your wedding with Blink 182. DO NOT. They are appropriate for 90s Nostalgia Night and that's it.

Chrissy's running. I knew it. Her mom's concern about motives are understandable but she is not expressing herself well at all. And Chrissy's dad giving a bullshit excuse rather than attending? Do Chrissy's parents even like her? I fully expect her to go through with the wedding and I can only assume it's after telling her mother to shove it.

Cleo has decided to watch the show with me and her chosen spot is, of course, on my chest right in front of my face. If I suddenly have a bunch of typos that's why.

I will say, Kyle, if you proposed because you missed the feeling of having a family again then you should definitely wait before getting married.

Ah, so Chrissy's parents got married because of pregnancy so they're assuming it's the same situation and, rather than just provide their own point of view, decided to be jerks.

Even though it's not a super suit the hoodie looks way more natural than the Frog Boy getup.

Lex's enforcers better not hurt Jon!

Protective Papa overrules whatever effects there are of Lane's heart.

SIGH. It's a nice gesture from Jordan but let's not with the amphibian gear. I love the Frog and Toad stories but that doesn't mean I want Jordan and Jon to emulate them.

Hang on, has Sophie always been taller than Sarah or did that just happen this season?

I'm glad he seems to be getting over it but Jordan has quite the selective memory if he thinks Jon has had an easy time with things in Smallville.  This is the poor kid who was dumped by his Metropolis girlfriend and then turned himself into the town pariah when he covered for his next one.

Someone needs to tell the kids there are better suit options than scuba diver.

I think this applies to all the DC CW shows, not just this one.

This felt somewhat like a filler episode. After the first three was so great this was a bit of a let down. I have to say that I loved all things Kent but I could’ve done without so much Kyle and Chrissy. Honestly I don’t really care about these two so keep them at a minimum and more John Henry.

Please get new suits for the boys.

Hopefully that’s the last we will hear about the phone call.

I admittedly can't remember the last time we saw Sophie, but yeah, I found it a little funny that she/the actress towers over Sarah/Inde Navarrette now.  Talk about a growth spurt!

Glad that they continue not to drag things too much and Clark is already back with the family!  Not surprised though that everything isn't back to normal, as while he does have all of his powers still, he does seem to be weaker than the norm or not up to 100% yet.  It might have to do with Sam's heart being older, but I also wonder if some of it might be mental as well.  Curious to see how this plays out.  Especially since he now can apparently feel the effects of alcohol!

I guess it was time to check in on Kyle and Chrissy this go around.  Out of the supporting/recurring players, I do find them less interesting than the rest, so I wasn't wild about this particular plot.  Especially since it had all of the obvious cliches like the runaway bride/cold feet and the overbearing mother who comes around at the end because she just wants her daughter to "be happy."  But I guess the resolution fits: the wedding is off but they are still going to be together.  Did feel like they were rushing things.

Jonathan definitely seems more confident with his powers, but it looks like more training is needed with the whole heroing thing.

I understand Jordan's feelings about everything, but I hope he really is going to move forward and not blame himself/push Lois and the rest away.  Because at the end of the day, the one responsible for all of this is Lex because he's an evil dick.

Fun seeing the Coach again.

Someone's already leaked Superman's return!  Bet Lex is going to be thrilled!  And now that he knows for sure about his secret identity, I can see that being a problem for Clark and the family...

So apart from Sam, who was in three episodes, for the final season, it seems like each of the dropped players get a storyline in one episode each?  I enjoyed seeing Kyle but I despise Chrissy.  Pairing them together last season was purely done because the writers needed something for both of them to do.

I'm not sure how old Chrissy is supposed to be, she could be anywhere from 25 to 40.  Are the huge bags and dark circles under her eyes supposed to be a makeup / wardrobe department choice?  She's either pushing 40 or she's a very old looking 25 year old.

I really couldn't care less about Chrissy's issues with her mom or her runaway bride dilemma.  It seems the show had enough budget to allow Sarah to appear and have a few lines.  And a rare appearance from Sophie, who wasn't seen or mentioned at all during the episode when Lana said that Luther might come after her and her family.

Why couldn't Lana have made an appearance?  Even if it was a non-speaking one like Sophie?  Kyle said they were still good friends, wouldn't Lana have been invited to the wedding?  They at least should have given us a throwaway line ("Lana's so sad she couldn't make it, she's visiting her mom in Egypt").  I find it hard to believe she wouldn't be there.

Loved seeing Jon grow so easily into his powers.  What's up with Frodo?  He still has powers, I guess he's all angsty/depressed/whatever and doesn't want to use them even when he could have been useful at the fire?

At least Frodo and Lois hugged it out.  I'm so sick of angsty Jordan, I loathe everything about him.

At the fire, it looked like that henchman was simply wearing a pair of fire gauntlets.  How come Jon was so easily taken out by them?  I thought they were kryptonite gauntlets but it was just regular fire.  Jon walked through the fire with no issues when he approached Gretchen (who will now confirm to Luther that Jon too has powers).

Seems like more and more people in town know that Clark is Superman.  Lana, Sarah, Kyle, Chrissy, random stranger who saw them during the battle, Gretchen, Lex.  Why doesn't Lex just publish it?  "Clark Kent is Superman".  I wouldn't be surprised if for the series finale, the world learns Superman's identity.

I too would have preferred to see more John Henry and Natalie instead of having JH be relegated to a throwaway line.  Completely agree that this was a filler episode.  I didn't see the need for Kyle and Chrissy and they could have remained in the background.

Last season it seemed like Lana and John Henry might become a couple... why not an episode about the two of them instead of the irritating and whiny Chrissy.

On the one hand, I am not all that interested in the Kyle/Chrissy romance, it seems like a whole lot has happened with them off-screen (including a pregnancy!) so its hard to be that invested. After such an intense start of the season with so many amazing episodes, it feels like whiplash to stop the drama and move into this breather episode. On the other hand, its been such an emotional start to the season, I can see why they wanted to do something a little more fun. Plus, while Kyle or Chrissy are not exactly my favorites, they have still be on the show for its whole run and I don't want them to just disappear due to budget cuts.

I'm glad that they didn't drag out Clark coming back very long and we got a big reunion between the Kent family, which they all REALLY need after everything they've been through. Clark was so missed, even these few episodes felt off without him, especially now that he's in full goofy dad mood. It should be interesting to see how having Sam's heart is going to affect him going forward.

Looks like Superman being alive is going to be getting out soon, I'm sure Lex will be thrilled at the chance to kill him again.

Boys, I'm glad that your more or less on the same page again, but its time for a better costume.

I thought they were kind of reckless with the whole "Clark is still around" thing.  Lex found out about Superman being alive anyway, but if he had heard about Clark being at the wedding, that would have accomplished the same thing.

Since this is the last episode, I'd actually be fine with Clark semi-retiring, and let John and/or Jordan take his place.

When Lois got the phone call, the first thing I thought was pick Jonathan because Jordan had powers to protect himself.  But I almost get the impression even Lois is repelled a bit by how whiny and emo Jordan is.

They must be using John Henry and Natalie sparingly because they're being cheap with having to pay for their appearances.

Luthor has done so many terrible things to Lois at this point, that it's a wonder that SHE hasn't turned into a super villain.

I liked this episode, but it felt slightly off, and not just because it was quieter and more introspective. There were several cuts that jumped back and forth in a way that made a little unclear when the scene took place relative to the scene before/after it.

Also, Clark wakes up in his Superman suit and flies back to the Kent farm.... in a dark suit/coat. It was like he got dressed specifically for Sam's funeral, but he missed it by several minutes at least (the boys had gone back inside, Lois was alone at Sam's grave).

Anyway, I like this journey for Jordan, even though it feels a tiny bit revisionist. (Being Superboy only because he thought he should doesn't exactly jibe with the attitude he had last season about the attention he was getting.) I hate that stupid message causing him to spiral and not want to be involved with his own family (Lex's automated voice messaging system =/= your mom's actual thoughts or feelings, stop believing that it does!), but at least there was no one screaming in anyone's face, and he eventually spoke honestly and openly with Lois about it (and hopefully listened to her actual words). It's a good to have him finally really consider whether he wants to be Superboy - realizing that it's not a "Jordan or nobody" proposition could actually be a relief, once he can settle his self esteem. I don't want him giving up because he thinks he's worthless at it; I want him to decide that his personality and talents are better used in different ways, and that doesn't make him better or worse than his brother. I think that's what they were heading towards by the end of the episode, so yay! Still holding out how for a Fraternals team up by series' end.

At the same time, did we have to double down on the hoodie/goggles outfit by invoking Sam? It's just not a great look for either boy.

I liked that Lois could encourage and caution Clark using her own journey as an example, and that it brought them even closer together. Clark's bonding with Kyle was also nice, although it was kind of weird to realize that, for very different reasons, these two guys literally have no other close male friends.

Chrissy's broken "it's been so long since you called me that" to her mom did make me tear up a little. I've never really been into Kyle and Chrissy as a couple, and I'm still not, but the dress was very pretty on her and all the dancing at the end was cute.

Not bad for an "eye on the middle of the storm" episode. They get one each season. I expect increasing danger and devastation from here on out til the end when mostly everyone is saved.

The actor is in her thirties so I assume Chrissy's the same age.

Which then makes her mom's snide remark about Chrissy and Sarah being almost the same age even stupider. Chrissy's in her thirties and Kyle's in his forties. This is hardly an inappropriate age gap for a couple to have. Her mom had real and understandable concerns about how quickly they were getting married but it's like she wanted to approach it in all the wrong ways.

Late to the party but I just have to add those opening shots with Lois at Sam's grave were fantastic, they looked more like something from a movie than a tv show.

Watched today.

Yay, Clark's back. And I'm glad they didn't drag it on, give him amnesia for a few episodes, something like that. And so glad that his personality is in tact. I loved him geeking out over Jon getting the Star Wars reference. And I don't mind the problems he's having. The heart that he has is fundamentally human, even if it is enhanced with Kryptonian DNA. But, please bring on more buzzed Clark. That was fun. But, yeah, I'm also someone who thinks that Lex didn't crush Superman's heart. Which will, sadly, make Sam's sacrifice all in vain.

I was going "Oh, Sophie does still exist!" When was the last time we saw her?

But, to the poster who said Chrissy's pregnancy happened off screen (I think you meant between seasons), Chrissy said she was pregnant on the last season finale, I think. Either that, or it was the episode before it. At least, I knew she was pregnant before this episode.

But count me in on those who just don't care. Although I was wondering if Mom was evil, like she was part of Lex's henchmen who would report to him that hey, Lois Lane's husband is back. Probably the storyline that was going on in my head was too complicated.  But I think that may have been more interested than the standard runaway bride trope.

And I didn't mind Jordan in this episode. I'm an only child, but I understand why he would be so crushed at the phone message. I'm actually glad he's taking a step back and working things out. And I also liked that, while Jon is a natural with his new-found powers, he also still has a lot of growing to do before becoming a hero. And I do hope that he did listen to Lois' words.

The Chrissy actress is 33 and she looks so much better when you see her online photos.  Why do they make her up so bad. Those bags and dark circles make it seem like she hasn’t slept in days and the slouching ??

I don't recall anything about her being pregnant last season?  Maybe I just tuned it out because I don't like her.  The first I became aware of the pregnancy was in the Lana episode this season (?) when someone said that Kyle bought Chrissy a new minivan and someone else said something like does that mean what I think it means, implying she was going to need one because she was pregnant.

In any event, I am also one of those who don't care.  I hope we don't have to see her again.

One of the things that struck me from this episode was that Kyle told Chrissy's mom that he and Lana have been divorced for a year.  Has it really been that long?  And what was the purpose of breaking them up in the first place?  Surely it wasn't just to pair him with Chrissy.

I don't think that was necessarily the end goal, but they wanted drama.  There is no way Lois or Clark would ever have an affair, so that left Lana and Kyle.  After that their romantic options were John Henry for Lana, Chrissy for Kyle, or a new character.

I don't hate the Chrissy character or anything, but I simply just don't really care about her story.  And I care even less that she doesn't want to marry Kyle right now, but somehow remains "all in" on their relationship.  There's too much else going on that really matters.

It's so good to have Clark back. Tyler Hoechlin's smile lights up the world. It was great seeing Clark flying with Jon and having fun.

Jordan's angst is perfectly in character. I'm glad they didn't drag that storyline out to long. The reconciliation between him and Lois was wonderfully acted and so beautiful in the sunset. I liked how supportive he was sending Jon after the fire. I realize part of it was his complete lack of self-confidence after losing Clark, but it was nice to see him give a pep talk after all the times Jon has talked up and I appreciate him bringing up that Jon's trained in firefighting. Him giving up the suit while he takes some time was a nice gesture, and I'm amused at the prospect of non-identical twins perhaps posing as the same superhero persona.

I had forgotten how much I've grown to like Kyle. I didn't realize I missed him till  I saw him. And then he wanted Blink-182 and 311 at his wedding and I like him a little more. And it's nice to see Chrissy and Lois's friendship again. They seem much more like real friends instead of people thrown together like Lois and Lana.

They've done a good job of parsing out the guest stars. It's easier to like everyone when they aren't so overused.

Coach Gaines playing "Runaway" after Chrissy came back is hilarious.
