The arrival of a new stew sets the stage for mixed reactions among the crew; a deckhand is blindsided by bad news from home; Aesha's frustration peaks when she discovers the laundry room is still in chaos.

First aired on 9/2/2024.

Ellie takes her position of second stew so seriously that she mentions it constantly and expects to supervise the other stews. However she doesn’t do her job very well and shouldn’t worry about being anyone else’s boss. To top it off she lacks confidence and feels threatened as soon as Aesha pays attention to the new floater stew. She sounded like an idiot telling Aesha she wanted to take on additional duties that would help her become a chief stew.  Later she compounded her idiocy by questioning Aesha regarding the new girl. Girl, learn to do the job you currently have first.

I don’t think colored beads will help Bri. I don’t know why Joe would protect Bri to the extent that his shirt smelled.  She doesn’t seem very bright and she lacks drive.

The new stew seems like a good addition. There should be a picture of Joe with a red line through it and a warning label given to any newbies.

Sandy and her little attitude at Jono was unnecessary during the preference sheet meeting. If anything she should have asked Aesha to also be careful about plates going out when someone has an allergy. She also overreacted to Iain when they were leaving the dock. He does lack supervision skills but this late in the season she needs to help him get through it and not be a dick.

I like the new stew. I especially liked her calling out Ellie's stripper heels on night one.

Really don't understand Bri's ongoing issue with laundry. She's apparently washing, drying, ironing, folding everything just fine but she keeps returning clothes to the wrong room.

Does she have a learning disability? She mentioned being better with colors than letters. As an accommodation, couldn't she simply hang all the clean clothes in the laundry room and have the crew grab their own? I mean, the laundry room is literally down the hall from their cabins.

Joe's a douche. I don't like his vibe with any of the women. Iain really should have told him that Captain Sandy vetoed his lead deckhand promotion.

I think she does having a learning disability. What is she going to do with colored beads pin them to the clothes? Then. she will claim it is too difficult to remember what color belongs to which crew member. It would make sense to hang the shirts and pants in the laundry and have the crew collect their own. I don't remember other stews delivering clothes to the crew and hanging it up for them.   But then we wouldn't be treated to laundry room drama each week.

Why should Aesha do Jonno's job?  This is a simple fix, print out the sheets, tape them to your galley wall, highlight food allergies and dsilikes.  And then refer to the sheets when you plan your meals, Jonno.

I do too, she's as thick as a plank.

She sure did sound stupid.  I did love Aesha's 'that's my call', when E started her 'I feel like I'm being demoted' nonsense.

So the new guests were barely on board for an hour and we have Aesha putting on some headband mullet wig thing and the first thing she says to the guest was "is this a pube wig?" I hated to even type that out btw. I mean come on! How familiar can she get with guests before one of them says something to the Sandy?  Aesha is gross.

The laundry issues at this point are what they are, Bri is not putting forth the effort any more now than at the begining...those colored beads go on what exactly, every item?  As far as her putting the wrong person's laundry in the wrong rooms could be she has not bothered to learn any of their names, lol.

I do have a question about the uniforms, are those uniforms the crew wears theirs to keep or do they leave them behind after the charter season for the next crew/season? If that is the case how many names are written on those labels? Maybe that is the problem with Bri mixing up the laundry delivery.

I like the new girl, I love that she has made Ellie so insecure by just showing up. Ellie wants to learn more chief stew things, she has already shown she would abuse any amount of power she would get.

Sandy's snarky comment to Jono does not lift him up, it beats him down which is the opposite of what Sandy says she does with her crew, the little comment is the poor management style we have seen all these years yet she preaches something completely different, we see you Sandy.

Iain is a mess, he just cannot get out of his own way.

To be fair, the male guest did say that it was a merkin first.  Aesha was just playing off that comment.

Wow!  Ellie is such a bitch.  She should appreciate the additional help.  She doesn't seem to realize how thin Aesha has been stretched

She takes this rank nonsense all too seriously.  She's not a boss.  Aesha slammed her pretty good.

Bummer for Nathan.  He and Gael do make a cute couple.  She's going to whack Joe up side the head.  He needs to knock it off.  I think she's right, he's jealous.

Bri is such a mess.  Should have thought up this "color system" ages ago.  I predict it will crash and burn.

Of course Joe has the horns out for the new girl.  She seems competent and friendly.  Tough spot to get thrown in to.

Iain is like a piece of furniture.

Interesting that they always seem to time the arrival of a new crew member to the afternoon before they go out clubbing.

I guess that beats having to work hard to prepare the boat for the next charter as the first task.

Or maybe nothing bonds crew members like doing shots together and twerking.

Does every article of clothing have name tags though?  I wouldn't like to have to do laundry for several coworkers as well as the charter guests.

It's not a glamorous job, between doing laundry and cleaning the rooms.  How could Bri be okay doing the latter but can't figure it out for the former?

Is Ellie serious about trying to advance in yachting?  I thought she had a big OF career going.

Nathan tried to suppress his emotions but it all came out when they went out.  He lashed out at Gael and Aesha had to get in-between them and finally got it out of Nathan what happened?  Or Gael got him to tell them what was going on?

Yeah it shouldn't only fall to Jono.  He has to prepare shellfish for the other guests.  So he can remember to have a substitute dish for the one person.  But the servers have to take the right plates out to that one guest too.  That is Aesha's department.

Just like Jono feared that an unexpected delay because of the broken glass could result in his food being served cold, he's dependent on the Interior to not make him look bad.

I think even if it was served immediately that strong wind would have cooled off anything served hot.

As far as the broken glass goes, I thought it was Ellie that broke several glasses on the table.

It did sound like Jono screwed up but I’m not sure I believe it was a life or death scenario.  If it was, wouldn’t the allergy be posted in the galley so that the chef and stews would be reminded of it?

I think the beads would just confuse Bri more. They sound like something that would be helpful for a larger crew.

Not even the production can create such drama. I think Brie must indeed have some kind of disability/OCD.

I do suspect though, that production has advised Aesha to go for gross/ scatologic humor this year. Think about it, Bravo likes to show the crew farting, so this kind of humor fits their style nicely.
I have no clue if in real charters crew can cross this line talking like this to the guests, even if the guests ask for it.

The new stew seems much nicer than the previews showed us.
Ellie's insecurities are embarrassing. Maybe after watching this season she could improve herself.

I did not mind Sandy reminding Jono to do his job properly, but maybe she should whine more towards the production for hiring a good cook but not a  chef.

I am curious how the guests think of their party requests. Does Bravo gives them a list to choose from or they let them ask for whatever they could think of?

I should had asked that mega yacht crew member at Reddit if real guests do ask for such parties. In a similar question, he answered that guests usual behave nicely and they just want to enjoy their charters.

A question for the fashionistas:

Where do you put these "beads" on those very tight uniforms?

Buttons maybe?  On the sleeve or at the bottom?  Collar by the tag?

Yachting is a good size business, there has to be a generally used system out there for this.

I know it's not the same, but, I worked 30 years in chemical labs and there are procedures for the jobs that need to be done.  (plus, people - and you - can get hurt if not followed).  It's not really hard.

Jono has grown on me, but would a real luxury yacht hire a self-taught chef?  They couldn't find anybody else?

Amen!
There should be a system already that stews simply follow.
I read some interesting answers elsewhere, like that there are laundry bags where you could use to separate clothes, especially underwear from different people. There must be rules about washing underwear for so many different people.

maybe they are clips with magnets? similar to the ones used to prevent clothes from being stolen from shops?

That seems even more unwieldy.

For fun, I just put a magnet to the inside of my dryer and it stuck hard.  Steel drum😎

I was surprised it wasn't aluminum, and it's only a year old.

Plastic coated so it won't rust.

I spent almost 20 years in plastic coating of metals for corrosion protection.  Industrial, not consumer goods.

It was a good gig😎

I was all prepared not to like the new stew, just 'cause I knew Joe would be after her.  But, she seems great.  I'm just sorry Ellie will be a beyotch to her.  Though, her comment about Ellie needing a stripper pole to go with her stripper heels was priceless, as was Ellie, trying to walk in them!

I cannot stand how blatant Sandy is with her favoritism.  During the preference meeting, she only shows Aesha smiles and respect.  Jono and Iain get ignored or receive dirty looks.

I only like Aesha because she protected the incapacitated stew on Below Deck Down Under from being raped. I watched only two episodes in order to see myself after the uproar on social, and regular media. But otherwise she is gross, and inappropriate at times.

The new stew shaded Ellie. It was funny.

Both Joe, and Ellie are annoying (and ridiculous) by trying to push their "authority" on others (Gael, Bri, Carrie).

Poor Ellie is so insecure.

I'm afraid Bri is not going to perform better by using colored beads for the laundry.

Here you are Brie!
https://seaworthysecrets.com/laundry-care/

It is a very interesting site and I guess it does answer some of the questions we have from time to time.

EDITED TO ADD:
Oh dear, it seems they do have theme parties in yachting, not sure if they are as cheap as shown in the  BD shows but they do it.

So it turns out Bri is dumber than a box of rocks.  How can she be so bad at laundry?  Color coded beads..........sheesh.  That is not going to help.

Captain Sandy definitely has her favorites.  Look at how she cuddles Bri every step of the way.  But Jono, forget it.  She is not encouraging and teaching him anything.  But Bri gets chance after chance with no improvement in sight.

I do not believe the guest that "could have died" had that on her preference sheet. I think is just said she did not eat raw fish.  When she first mentioned it she said she "might" get sick and die.  By the time it got to Sandy, Jono purposely served this poor woman a meal to kill her.  Rolling my eyes.  And yes, if it was that dangerous for her to eat raw fish, doesn't she have to request that all her food is handled and cooked separate from the others?  See, I think TPTB made it a life of death situation.  I like Jono and I hope he lasts the season.

I have hemochromatosis.  The reason you are discouraged from eating raw fish is because of a gram positive bacteria called vibrio that can show up in raw shellfish (especially oysters), raw fish, and in sea water (where it can infect you through an open wound).  Everyone is susceptible to the infection, but most people just get fever/vomiting.  If you have hemochromatosis, you *may* develop sepsis.  It's very rare to do that.  And if you let the ER staff know that you have hemochromatosis, they'll give you prophylactic antibiotics to head off the sepsis.  I eat sushi and walk on the beach.

Sandy did say waaay back in the beginning of the season that she wouldn't fire an entry level stew.  Give 'em a chance, blah, blah, blah.

I guess unless it's egregious enough, she did threaten to fire them both a little while ago.  (She either had no replacements or production shut that down).

El and Bri have been getting along better since then, but El really needs to pull in the claws and make the most of the additional help.

"I'm like a third wheel!  waaaah!"  Get a fourth wheel and you can be a Lamborghini.

Get over yourself lady.  Just do the work and STFU.

Will they tell Carrie about Joe, or just let her figure it out on her own?

As gross and weird as Aesha is, she seems to have handled the stew situation pretty well, also considering what she's dealing with, and the guests seem to love her (Why???) so for the tip's bottom line, that's what matters

Pretty sure the raw fish was on the preference sheet - didn't Jono and Aesha make a big deal of it when serving dishes for the guests' first meal on last week's show? So it seemed really out of place on this week's episode that neither Jono nor Aesha mentioned it at all.

Yes, it was on the preference sheet, but I believe what @gaPeach and others, including myself, were saying is that the preference sheet didn't clarify how dangerous it could be for her. Anything that could cause someone to die upon ingesting should be clearly marked as such.  Accidents can happen, but if the food was labeled as such, there would be no mistakes.

I think that Joe is angry at Gael not only because she is with his best friend, and he doesn't get all the attention, but she also called him out about his behavior with Ellie and Bri.
