This is a much better episode than the previous three. No filler stuff. Great job Aisha Tyler for directing this episode. 👍🏻

Aaron Yoo plays Roger Song brilliantly. Roger is a compelling unsub and his case is so engaging. I believe him as a caring husband and a doting new dad. I can see him struggling to keep his family together and I feel for him. Every time Emma calling for him, screaming his name, my heart breaks. Then comes the double twists. After getting arrested, he’s still struggling to process everything that has happened. 💔

Jill Gideon is an interesting addition to CM. So far, I like what am seeing. Looking forward to see her working with the BAU, delving into the “White Paper” and epigenetics to further understand the North Star and to unlock the Gold Star. I just hope there won’t be any rekindling romance between Rossi and Jill.

Emily introduces Tyler to Jill as the future of the BAU. I don’t see this coming, TBH. I initially liked his character but his rendezvous with Penelope has left a bad taste in my mouth. If they want to keep this character for next season, I hope Erica Messer will totally drop the pointless Tynelope stuff. 😒

I have lost interest in Voit and his sh!ts a few episodes ago. No offense to Zach Gilford.

The plot with Roger and his family was the CM I’ve been missing!  It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch the story unfold and Aisha Tyler did an excellent job directing!
The rest was meh.  I’m not thrilled with this retcon of Gideon and Rossi’s research and the love triangle with G’s former wife.

How did Voight get his lawyer to do his (literally) dirty work? I missed that and do not feel like re-watching.

The attorney (who seems like he's a misogynist and into the "traditional marriage" structure) is getting a divorce, I'm supposing because wifey wanted to do more than just knowing her place, and Voight insinuated he could have her taken care of before hubby lost half of his stuff.

The FBI cutting and going through with a deal with a serial killer who also hasn't come through on his end of the deal remains the stupidest thing I've ever seen on this show. And that includes Garcia's outfits.

Outside of the Voit crap, THIS was a Criminal Minds episode. FINALLY.

Only thing better would have been 0 Voit crap, and the whole team on this unsub.

The suck is strong with this one.

We're supposed to buy that some guy whose control issues got his wife and  baby dead ... this controlling narcissist who evidently didn't give a shit about her wishes or the baby's safety or anything other than himself ... was suddenly and uncharacteristically overcome with mind-blowing personal guilt and feelings of inadequacy after she and the infant died.    So much in fact that he snapped, then went on Amazon and ordered a state-of-the-art acid spa complete with ejector pump discharge to build in his basement in his spare time (you know, when he's not spending quality time with the corpses upstairs).   Then he starts dissolving people.  Because the guilt.

Uh-huh.

Emily Prentiss, such a class act: "Just fuckin' drive."

Jerry Cantrell must be hard up for money these days.  Why else would he license Alice In Chains' "Nutshell" for use in this piece of crap.

In terms of acting, Felicity Huffman ran circles around Paget Brewster.   The scene between them made Paget's more-or-less monotone delivery very conspicuous.

Prison did nothing to diminish Felicity Huffman’s acting skills.  I skip the credits so I missed her name at the beginning.  I think this is a great part for her.   The Voigt stuff is still boring but the COTW was interesting.

Umm, how did Mr. Unsub get his victims inside the glass aquarium?  Does he drop them in from the top ten feet up?   Is there a door?  I didn't see any indication of one (see photo up top).   How does he clean the inside glass?   Or the floor?  Even if the liquefied body drains out, there should be some slimy residue or cloudiness to the glass.  (I'm hearing Christina's uptalk: Is your shower trying to tell you something?   Have you juiced one too many men?

lol agreed. one cant examine the details too closely. much less the volume of fluid/body remains being drained out, wouldn't this require pretty much an industrial sized sewer? i dont believe your average toidy could handle it.

love huffman being in this episode, she is quality in 99% of what she does.  paget eh just hitting the lines, nothing spectacular here.  and is it me, or did we not expand out the gold star/north star story line? was the dad somehow tied to that? if so, I completely missed it - he just seemed more like a messed up dad than a victim of this north star programming. mind you i do like that concept, that the BAU has subversive ties to MKUltra type stuff.

This episode's case was SUPER dark. Holy shit. The scenes of the victims being sprayed with that stuff as they were, and then their remains... Ye gods. I had a sinking feeling where the story was going when the husband was down in the basement with the doctor, but it didn't make the reveal any less horrifying and disturbing.

I liked Luke and JJ working the case as they did, too.

I thought she did a really good job when she came into the BAU and went to Gideon's office. Even without words, she captured the history her character had with Gideon. I'm intrigued to see what they do with her character, and her connection with Rossi.
