Shell76 September 17, 2014 Share September 17, 2014 (edited) So, one win for Nia and Holly is willing to forgive and forget years of abuse? Way to go, Holly! Haha, exactly. But I thought I would give Holly a pass since the editing made her seem hesitant to hug Abby. Abby stood there for at least a few moments with her arms out, then had to call Holly over to give her a hug. I was really happy for Nia regardless. I don't know if Dance Kids or whatever it was called is a legit competition, but it looked more real than the last few we've seen. Between Kendall and Maddie, I have to say Maddie's performance of that solo was better. I don't think it's really a technique issue, but Maddie can show emotion in her steps, whereas Kendall just does the steps. Nia is probably the best at portraying genuine emotion, and I think that's what got her the 1st place (providing the results were not set up). I really hope the show is done after the original cast gets their chains cut. These new moms are awful....except Jade's mom, Loree(sp?). Seriously, they're all cut from the same cloth. Same drama every week with a different face. And I'm done with Cathy, too. I guess she and Vivi are also stuck with the contract, since there was no reason for them to be at this competition. Whatever beef she has with Abby and the moms is fine by me, but leave the kids out of it. Edited September 17, 2014 by Shell76 Link to comment
JLG September 17, 2014 Share September 17, 2014 So, one win for Nia and Holly is willing to forgive and forget years of abuse? Way to go, Holly! Of course she is! Nia really does well when she is featured in folk/ethnic dances. Otherwise, in the groups, she is the weakest dancer(just below Kendall.) Holly is just as much as a hypocrite as the rest of them. She wants it both ways. Link to comment
goofygirl September 17, 2014 Share September 17, 2014 Stick a fork in me, I'm almost DONE with this show. I would like to see Maddie lose ONCE to anybody and see how Abby reacts. 1 2 Link to comment
cali1981 September 17, 2014 Share September 17, 2014 Did you notice that during the preview tease for next week, Christi was on her phone asking someone if Abby went to the judges and told them that Chloe should not win? 2 Link to comment
DoctorWhovian September 18, 2014 Share September 18, 2014 Stick a fork in me, I'm almost DONE with this show. I would like to see Maddie lose ONCE to anybody and see how Abby reacts. You mean like when Maddie fell then ran off the stage, and Abby cried? Abby must be so far up her own behind to see that episode and not realize how she is. I'm really concerned that Melissa hasn't been turned off by Abby's hand-that-rocks-the-cradle-act with Maddie. She must be so into the idea of Maddie becoming a big star and living through her that she doesn't realize this woman would take away her (Melissa's) child if she could. Link to comment
WimminWinning September 18, 2014 Share September 18, 2014 So, one win for Nia and Holly is willing to forgive and forget years of abuse? Way to go, Holly! Truth. But also, I'll give Holly a pass on this one only because Abby did change her abusive ways (at least for the camera in this one episode). I'm hoping that Holly forgave Abby because of the change in how she treats Nia and not because Nia won. Of course she is! Nia really does well when she is featured in folk/ethnic dances. Otherwise, in the groups, she is the weakest dancer(just below Kendall.) Holly is just as much as a hypocrite as the rest of them. She wants it both ways. Nia is good at contemporary. She gets to be expressive and contemporary numbers look great on girls with a more muscular build. Plus, she is the best at dancing with the contemporary flexed feet. In contrast, Chloe, Paige, and Kendall don't look all that great doing contemporary numbers solely because of physique and lack of expressiveness. Stick a fork in me, I'm almost DONE with this show. I would like to see Maddie lose ONCE to anybody and see how Abby reacts. Maddie loses all the time according to the ALDC website results page. They just don't show Maddie losing on tv because Abby is trying to create a winning narrative for her prodigy. 1 2 Link to comment
Booger666 September 18, 2014 Share September 18, 2014 I was impressed with Jill this ep. She is always trying to get Kendall an advantage to the point of going off the rails occasionally, but she seemed genuinely happy for Nia and Holly for Nia's 1st place finish. Maybe Jill isn't as bad as I originally thought. 2 Link to comment
Bossca September 18, 2014 Share September 18, 2014 Bridgette's son Lucas lost to Nia and Kendall's solos. That would have killed her, and serves her right after all of those nasty comments about young kids. It was nice seeing everyone be so joyful about Nia's win. She is excellent in pieces like that. They are definitely her strength. The select team's parents desperation to get on the elite team is so embarrassing. Grown women in hysterics over the children's dance placement is ridiculous. I would be embarrassed to show my face in public, let alone as the head of a studio. Cathy is ridiculously annoying, but I agreed that the group dance was pretty silly and childish. 2 Link to comment
sevenatenine September 18, 2014 Share September 18, 2014 The stupid thing is that all last season it was "We're going to get a new team that is better than your team." Then they bring the kids in, move Maddie over, and for an episode it was what they had said it was going to be. Then the new group disbanded and the kids are now fighting for a spot on the inferior team? These produced insult my intelligence. 1 2 Link to comment
Rhondinella September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I maintain that the shuffling in and out of different girls and their moms each week is essentially the producers auditioning new "talent" to take the place of the original crew when they inevitably walk. CHIST-y is probably a lock, but I'm not sure about the rest. That assumes the show actually continues, of course, but I think the producers are hedging their bets. It's like a backdoor pilot of sorts: test the girls (and especially their mothers) to see how interesting they are on camera while simultaneously introducing them to America so when the switch happens it won't be completely shocking. It's actually a pretty smart idea from a production standpoint. 1 Link to comment
sofiah September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I maintain that the shuffling in and out of different girls and their moms each week is essentially the producers auditioning new "talent" to take the place of the original crew when they inevitably walk. I heard they auditioned and chose a bunch of kids for Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition… and then that show got cancelled, and they decided to use the kids in the "select" team instead. If they are auditioning kids for the next season as well, then it will be disappointing, because none of these kids or their mothers seem interesting at all. I thought Sarah's dance was really lackluster. I think she's really flexible but doesn't have a lot of musicality. Or at least that Choreography didn't show it. There was that one little girl on the Select team… her name was Kamryn, and to me she was clearly the only one Abby actually liked (you could tell because when she watched her dance she got that open mouthed cod-fish look thats usually only reserved for Maddie). I suspect we'll see her back at some point, maybe for the every important "Nationals". I saw that Chloe will be assisting (she is being branded as a "Dance Moms" star… but still) at one of the VIP DanceEvents in Canada… which is pretty cool because it means she'll be learning from choreographers like Shannon Mather, Blake McGrath, Brian Friedman, etc. This is the first time I've heard of Chloe going to a dance convention like this (I've seen the other girls go as ALDC, but not her) so I wonder if that's a sign that her contract is up or has changed. 1 Link to comment

The contract is up. Chloe left ALDC about a year ago except for filming. According to Christi's tweets and her FB page, they are now completely done with Abby. The girls on the "Select Team" were the ones chosen for Abby's Dance Competition show that was cancelled after the auditions. So they had to do something with the dancers. In the end, it is the same shit week in and week out. Nothing new coming out of the new mom's mouths. Sick of hearing-"It is ____ (insert name) turn to shine and they deserve to be on the Elite team. This show really needs to be cancelled. Link to comment
