WEDNESDAY, FEB. 28 8:30-9:00 p.m. EST

Lexi combines the first two floors of the newsroom, leaving Nell to share a cubicle with T.J., a popular sportswriter who's friends with everyone ... except her.

Haha, really good epsiode. Wendie Malick was adorable as this week's ghost. The line about choking to death on your own politeness was very poignant.

"What did I do in 2016" - "Turn 40?"  . that exchange was just so good!

And also the moment when Nell thought she was a hot monster 🤣

I was very confused, where was that place that had all the Chicago Cubs memorabilia, was that inside TJ's brain, then why was Nell there. If it wasn't in his brain, why wouldn't TJ make that his office.

I thought it was a conference room he set up to recreate the bar and show her what happened.

Again, the plot line involving Lexi, which then involved everyone, was ridiculous and insulting to anyone's intelligence. Her father didn't want her to do either of the two things that would actually improve the lives of the employees, so instead she'll implement the one that will make everyone's life a living hell. This show is getting one more week from me to improve or I think I'm out.

There had to have been dozens of ways to bring Nell and TJ together. That was an amusing story.

Wendie Malick is always. welcome on my screen. And once again, the best plot line comes from one of Nell's obituary subjects and wasn't given enough time in the episode.

I don’t know why but I thought the person offscreen saying, “Yeah, Cheryl,” after Lexi told the girl complaining about sitting on the floor to shut it was absolutely hilarious. I burst out laughing and rewound it so I could watch it again.

A couple of amusing things this ep. "Yeah, Cheryl". The sports guy hitting Nel in the face with the plant while leaving (I think it was her reaction that I liked) and the pictures are still in the cloud on sunny days.

All of these were at the end, so if something was amusing earlier, I don't remember it.

This reminded me so much of Superstore and how they would treat Sandra.  Anyone else?

That's kind of where I am too. I don't hate it or anything but I'm not really getting any laughs out of it either. Not even a chuckle. I like the cast, there's definitely potential, but the writing is awfully weak.

Just speculation but I wonder if maybe the show has backed off the gimmick of Nell seeing ghosts because it's too similar to "Ghosts" on CBS. It's like they don't want to drop it altogether but it's such a minor part of the show it's almost not worth including anymore.

The writers have mistakenly allowed it to become a minor part of the show. The recently deceased, but not quite gone yet, subjects of Nell's obituaries were basically the COTW. To me, their interactions with Nell were the most interesting part of the show. It's very disappointing.

I totally agree.  Without the dead people pestering Nell and providing information for their obits, it's just another office sitcom.  And I was really hoping for an occasional return of Martin Mull.  This season is not living up (yes, pun intended) to the first season.

I totally agree that removing the role of the obituary subjects from significance has made the show just a blah soap opera sitcom.

Edited by possibilities
