Trini 22,088 September 5, 2014 Fox is airing this Mondays at 8pm (Eastern). Paired with Sleepy Hollow at 9pm.Series premiere is Monday Sept. 22. And its re-airing Friday the 26th at 9pm.------So this is going up against The Big Bang Theory; which I don't watch, but I know it's a juggernaut. And besides that, these two shows may share a lot of the same audience.Unless Gotham completely flops, I expect this to at least play out its first season, and maybe narrowly get a second season. (DC/WB/Fox seem to be really invested in its success.) It's difficult these days for a genre series to last long, but I hope that --best case scenario-- we get 4 or 5 seasons out of this concept. MarkHB 9,560 September 5, 2014 I know I'm going to be watching it on OnDemand; the tuners in my DVR will be busy with DWTS and The Voice (which we both watch), and there's no way !MrsHB will be interested in Gotham. Share this post Link to post
Trini 22,088 September 5, 2014 Oh man; I knew about DWTS, but I forgot about the Voice. Share this post Link to post
Actionmage 4,268 September 10, 2014 The question The Big Bang Theory poses is: Will it wreck the freshman and sophomore series in the eight week commitment to the NFL that CBS has? I would hope not, but there is bound to be a substantial overlap between the fans. Hopefully the newer and shinier toys will be played with and appreciated, even while there is a massive timeslot donnybrook/Pier Six Brawl! Share this post Link to post
MarkHB 9,560 September 10, 2014 Speaking of which, let's not forget that ESPN also has something that draws viewers in decent numbers (MNF). Share this post Link to post
Happytobehere 5,395 September 14, 2014 Don't forget the potential momentum killer that is the playoff and World Series break. Share this post Link to post
MarkHB 9,560 September 14, 2014 Don't forget the potential momentum killer that is the playoff and World Series break. Believe it or not, there won't be one, at least for Gotham. Here's the playoff schedule; Fox is pushing all but a couple of its games before the World Series to Fox Sports 1, and there's no Monday night World Series game. 1 Share this post Link to post
Trini 22,088 September 23, 2014 For the time being, Fox is going to be re-airing Gotham episodes Fridays at 9 Eastern. I wonder if airing twice a week will help the show any? Edited September 23, 2014 by Trini 1 Share this post Link to post

SimoneS 34,506 September 23, 2014 Oops, I should posted the info about the ratings here: Solid 18-49 demo for Gotham's premiere, 3.2. It likely just needs to stay over 2.0 and it will be renewed, but hopefully, it remains around 3.0.http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/09/23/tv-ratings-monday-the-voice-sleepy-hollow-return-down-gotham-scorpion-debut-well-forever-gets-a-slow-start/306198/ Edited September 23, 2014 by SimoneS 1 Share this post Link to post
opus 8,583 September 24, 2014 The Big Bang Theory moves back to Thursday after Oct.23. That may not help, but it can't hurt. 1 Share this post Link to post
Trini 22,088 October 3, 2014 Just a reminder that Fox is re-airing episodes on Fridays at 9pm. 1 Share this post Link to post

Dame sans merci 525 January 12, 2017 Following episode 14, Fox have announced that the show won;t return until the 24th of April. So nearly a three month gap. Let's hope they don't torture us with a big cliffhanger. 1 Share this post Link to post
Danielg342 6,380 January 16, 2017 Are we only getting 20 episodes this season? Because April 24 to the end of May is only six episodes- enough for Episodes 15-20 but no room for Episodes 21 and 22. Unless we're getting two straight weeks of two hour episodes. Or the season finale takes place in mid-June. Share this post Link to post

I can't see them continuing into June, but Monday night stable-mate 'Lucifer' also has a 22 episode run (and is on the same schedule with a big break), so I don't know where they'd fit in double-headers. Miss Dee 5,890 April 23, 2018 Bumping this thread to point out that the recent implosion of Lethal Weapon might have a silver lining for Gotham, at least. If one of Fox's sure-to-be-renewed series gets cancelled for other reasons, that might be the tipping point Gotham needs to get green lit for at least one more season. Share this post Link to post
Kostgard 2,239 April 24, 2018 Yikes. I had heard that actor was a bit of a problem, but I didn’t know he was “get the show canceled” bad. But yeah - more room on the schedule gives Gotham a better shot at survival. Share this post Link to post
Danielg342 6,380 April 24, 2018 I watched Lethal Weapon for a bit in the first season...I thought it was funny, if a bit derivative. I would feel bad for Damon Wayans if it got canceled- he deserves his star turn. Share this post Link to post
