Maybe it's drug week in TV land. I watched two shows, both airing last night, on different networks, which hinged on mushrooms. And neither of them made it look fun or enlightening, to me.

Hm, I thought this was the pilot, I didn't realize there was an earlier episode. I thought it was just OK. Seemed like the best joke was in the promo spot. Shred is the best character.

Is Vella Lovell doomed to appear in a string of unsuccessful sitcoms?

That was a gorgeous snake. 

I don't enjoy seeing Joel McCale's character kicking Shred out of the van, but I do think it's funny that Shred arrives anyway, by whatever alternate conveyance, at the same time. Dude just can't be stopped!

Well I'm out.  Not my cup of tea.  The animals are just props who pretty much attack people.  This second episode was just so unfunny and everyone but the supervisor lady is annoying.

I'll keep watching, but I have no idea why. 

I did like, or as close as this show gets to "like", McHale's character and his father bonding while still being unlikeable people. Maybe that's a corner to be turned in future eps about making Frank more human. Overall, though, I just can't believe any of these people would work in the field, know what they are doing, or have any clue. And I still don't get the rivalry between the civilian boss and Mr. Dee.

I'll keep watching because I'm beginning to like the characters, especially Shred, aka Low Rent Shaun White, lol.

That was one big pretty snake, even if he's not quite where we want him to be. I can appreciate the show not going for the obvious reference, but someone had to say it...

The big yellow prop snake was pretty convincing, since the actors mostly kept moving.  Prop snakes that size are expensive, so there are probably companies that rent them out.
