Checking in- no comments from last night's epi. I haven't seen it yet, but it seems like not much interest in this season. Mercifully, it may be time to pull the plug and let Jazz enjoy college and life more anonymously.

I don't understand how Jazz got through her freshman year at Harvard with all that studying and living away from home with all this anxiety. Doesn't make sense. Is this all for a story line? Is she in therapy while she's on summer break?

Go on the date. Don't go on the date. Stop freaking out and crying about getting out of your head. Who really gives a shit? The whole family is crazy including the grandparents.

I think it's partly for storyline, because Jeannette wants to have something to be about.  Also, as I said last week, it's about the fact that when she's home, and at least when they're filming this show, it's all trans and Jazz's mental health all the time, so what else does she have to think about?  School seemed like work and sports teams and regular friends; home is just trans issues and trans friends discussing trans issues while Jeanette fusses that Jazz can't handle anything on her own.  A recipe for mental health issues, in my opinion!

I was exhausted by the mama drama in last nights episode.  How did Jeanette survive with Jazz being hundreds of miles away and then turn into this crazy paranoid mama-bear in the episode?  I too wondered if it was all just a storyline to give Jeannette something to do because otherwise following Jazz from smoothie shops to finding turtles could get (more) boring.  I was cringing hard during those dating app Facetimes - I had to mute to not lose brain cells from the insipid chatter.

And this here is the problem - young people dating on apps probably do that all the time - it's only interesting to them.  If Jazz got a summer job, made new friends and went to the gym with Sander she'd have a lot more fun but there would be no show.

That would be better than watching Greg fish out a tiny one inch long turtle out of a drained pool because Jazz is afraid to do it herself. The fact that they decided not to edit that out shows us they have very little footage of interest and this season is going to continue to be a snoozefest.

And Jeanette knows that, because she told Jazz that having to talk about this stuff is what's making it take over her mind more than it had been.  But, while she's trying to micromanage every other aspect of Jazz's life, she doesn't say "So let's pull the plug on the show".  Good grief.  I get really sick of how things Greg and Jeanette decide get chalked up to Jeanette, like he's just dragged along behind her, when he's right there on camera saying the same things, so she doesn't bug me as much as she otherwise would, but in that moment I despised her.

Jazz and her friends, and especially Jazz in her talking head, discussing how being "passing" or not, and being post-op or not, affects dating for transpeople was interesting.  But everything else about the dating app was boring.

Eh, I tried -- after a long absence I gave these first two episodes a shot, but I can't.  I wish Jazz well and will continue to read and respond here, but I can't actually watch it.  Her family drives me bonkers.  I only like Jazz and the cats.

Jazz mentioned that when she gets in one of her in her head moods  (whatever that is, is she having a panic attack? ) she will go in the bathroom and take off her clothes. What the ever loving F? Is she still seeing a therapist, my God I hope so. Her mother seems to be doing her a disservice. Jazz needs professional counseling & to be far away from her.

Her one friend, can’t remember the name, who has pretty small breasts was talking about getting implants and the doctor told her she could go up to a 34 dd! are you kidding me? the girl looks like she weighs about 90 pounds and is as thin as a rail . I hope she doesn’t opt to go with those too big for her frame, boobs.   😳

I thought the same thing, that DD boobs on that small frame would be crazy.  Unfortunately, people have been brainwashed to think that large boobs mean desirability.  And that's not just in the trans community -- strippers, porn stars have been on that path forever and I think now the trans community have gone that route as it helps in the ability to "pass".

That's Jaclyn, formerly known as JJ. She has been on past seasons. Jazz sat in on a discussion with Jaclyn and her gma over her transition. Sweet gma was struggling with it, especially due to her age. Jazz, in all her righteousness, told gma she was wrong. Blah blah blah. Guess she's the convenient friend since Noelle seems to be out. Totally agree about the breast size. Hopefully her doctor will give good advice.

As someone who is a 36 DDD naturally, I can't imagine why anyone would willingly have such a large cup size.  It's a pain in the butt most of the time.  Decent bras are expensive and finding tops that don't make you look like your breasts arrive in the room 5 minutes before the rest of you is difficult.  I hope someone who has lived with larger breasts will advise this girl to tone it down.

As for Jazz, I have the same question of how she functioned at Harvard if she struggles so much with simple life occurrences.  If it is for a storyline, it's doing her a disservice.  People genuinely working through mental health issues do not need to be exploited for entertainment.  And Jeanette needs to be seeing a professional therapist herself.  And not cousin Debbie, someone neutral who can help her to see that she needs a life beyond Jazz and Sandor.

Depending on the implant types (high profile, tear drop), Jaclyn's chest size (band), how they are placed, etc., the range she was told could be from a C to a DD.  The hope would be she would find a surgeon that had her try different sizes to see what looks and feels comfortable.  They can usually provide samples (often rice bags) to give a sense of sizing.  Obviously the surgery is not a magic cure all for body dysphoria, but anything that helps her feel more comfortable and confident is a plus.

I am sure being on the show is not helping Jazz. The show makes her overthink things.  Most people are a bit anxious when going on a first date.  The show belabors this, with producers and her family asking again and again how she feels.   At Harvard, her days would be filled with activities.  Also there are already common things to talk to people about which lessens social anxiety.

I do not think that larger breast augmentation is more common in the trans community than in the population at large.  Much like other plastic surgery, it is noticed when it's bad.  When done well, with shape and sizing that fits the person's frame, no one notices. Many transgender women do not have augmentation.  Among the people that I know personally, only one has.  The others are happy with the breasts that developed over time.  These range from what I would estimate from A to D cups.   I am very top heavy (J cup).  I have transgender friends who have commented that they are very happy to not be that large.  We have joked about how great it would be if I could share some with others.  Women range in sizes quite dramatically whether cis or transgender.
