Well the one I am FB friends with, don't want to give up too much info but she had a pretty normal average middle class family life with no outwardly visible red flags as far as I could tell.

I'm imagining how that parent started out the season posting all sorts of proud-parent things on FB about Ashley being on the show. And then having those posts peter out as the season went on and they realized that perhaps they didn't want to be publicly claiming all of that?

I didn't mean normal in the sense of the the parental unit configuration I guess a better word would have been average middle class family of one sort or another with nothing that would stand out as a red flag. I shouldn't have used the word "normal".

The question isn't what Ashley's been up to.

The question should be, why is Bravo casting someone like her?

Did she happen to have some jobs in yachting or did she or the producers make up or inflate her experience to get her on the show?

Did she get cast because they expected her to get into certain shenanigans on camera, producing the kind of footage they aimed to get?

As I said in the episode thread, Ashley isn't a predator. She's not exploiting or preying on anybody. In the case of her OF, she's selling sex and her buyers know what they're getting. The Starcasm article was gleeful about having "discovered" her work as a cam girl. It's not like she's trying to hide it. I don't think she should, nor do I think any sex worker should be ashamed. People don't have to accept other people's values or choices if they don't agree with them, but it's possible to do so without belittling or shaming. I have a sneaking suspicion that people would be a little kinder to Ashley if she seemed ashamed of her behavior on the show. I'm glad she doesn't. I wouldn't want to spend much time with Ashley but I have to respect her refusal to be put in her place.
