jewel21 March 13, 2022 Share March 13, 2022 Quote When a young man is shot outside the Cárabo Bakery, the team works to connect the shooting to bakery owner Javier Escano, who has been under surveillance. Despite the increasing danger, Voight helps informant Anna Avalos get closer to their target. Airdate: 03/16/2022 Link to comment

NYGirl March 17, 2022 Share March 17, 2022 At the beginning I was just hoping Anna would be found out and we would be done with her. This storyline bores me. By the end of the episode I was feeling sorry for her. She's right. Everybody uses her. I can't see the ending for her being anything but bad. I kind of felt sorry for Hank too. The conversation in his house was quite telling. 7 Link to comment
Godish March 17, 2022 Share March 17, 2022 I found it odd that voight didn’t mention Erin or his grandson at the end, I mean he’s not completely alone. 1 Link to comment

Voight is Voight and it takes a whole lot to make me feel bad for him, but that job is all he has. I was confused at the end. Was Anna making a drop for Escano? Was Voight paying her off? Are we supposed to be left guessing or did I just go blond for a minute? 3 Link to comment
preeya March 18, 2022 Share March 18, 2022 (edited) When Voight was talking to Anna he was acting like a school teacher giving her a lesson in Under Cover 101. As soon as Adrian did the deed to himself my mind switched focus to the Alex Baldwin case. Anyone else? What's up with Mr. & Mrs. Halstead always with the puzzled blank stares, and push back on Voight? They look like, gee I don't even know what they look like. Is the Micalya case over, or will it be resurrected in a few weeks? I see Ruseck still has his arm in a sling. Edited March 18, 2022 by preeya Link to comment

Although from what we've seen in the past he does some sort of business using the pink bakery boxes. Therefore I'm even more confused. Edited March 18, 2022 by preeya 1 Link to comment

Paddy actually broke his shoulder IRL so they had no choice. There is no way this show would carry over an injury, shit Kim recovered from flatlining in two weeks. It also explains the very rushed, lacklustre explanation last week & why he continued working the rest of the episode like nothing happened as they clearly couldn't change the script halfway through shooting & given the lack of acknowledgment this week I think we are just supposed to pretend it's not happening. 6 1 Link to comment

Yes, and yes. Having just watched the latest episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel it was jarring. Hell of an episode. Enjoyed it thoroughly. The actor playing Anna is amazing. She owns that character and as I've said in an earlier thread, she could easily carry a lead dramatic role. Just too bad that as an ex-con Anna can't be police or else she'd probably be promoted to a series lead. And Voight...damn. Jason pulled out all the stops in this one. I thought he was going to talk the kid down. Even the camera angles they were using looked like it was going to de-escalate until that very last second. So kudos to the crew and the director for acing that scene, and its aftermath. Voight really needs to up his home security game. The one guy I felt really sorry for was the murder victim, Joshua. Imagine the Permsmirk being the last thing you saw before you shuffle off this mortal coil. Jeez. I hope he gets wings and a harp pronto after that. 2 2 Link to comment

My interpretation of the end is that Anna is following Voight's directions and getting closer to Escano by replacing Adrian as his runner. Earlier in the episode they said that they couldn't trace Adrian because he goes to the same parking lot all the time, but repeatedly leaves in different cars. I think the end was showing Anna getting into one of those cars as the new runner. Edited March 20, 2022 by FnkyChkn34 Mixed up the name of the shooter and the victim 6 Link to comment

greyhorse March 22, 2022 Share March 22, 2022 I thought this was an awesome episode. Felt sorry for Anna. Yes, she's been used all her life. When Voight was telling her she had to find a way to get close to Escano, and it had to be more than "just having sex"...wtf? She didn't even bat an eye at the implication that she might have to have sex with the guy. It's just part of her job, no big deal. She really is owned by Voight. And like she said, for what? What's she getting out of this? Presumably money, which we didn't see change hands this time. She's risking her life for some dollars to support her child. Let's hope she doesn't end up dead. And where is this child again? I forget. When she was working in the bakery and the shooter came in, she didn't act surprised. Does she know this guy? She said something like "Why did you come here?" as she opened the door, as if she recognized him. Just a confusing sequence. And when this guy said the cops shot him and Escano had a menacing look on his face, was there any follow-up? Did Escano wonder why the cops were already on the street and whether he might be under surveillance? She works in a bakery. Surely there are rubber gloves in the kitchen. Why not put those on before sewing up this complete stranger who could have some communicable disease? 3 Link to comment
