Sailorgirl26 December 18, 2024 Share December 18, 2024 They must have hired a new social media manager, because their Insta this season has been stellar. Nelly was the perfect person to do this! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDr-V_yAh2d/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8535503
Quilt Fairy January 22 Share January 22 Does anyone in the UK know WTF is going on with Noel Fielding? Apparently AppleTV has pulled the 2nd season of Dick Turpin because he didn't show up to film the last part of it and now there are questions about whether he's going to stay on GBBO. The articles I'm seeing over here in the US are just rehashes of what the authors have seen elsewhere on the internet like a giant game of telephone. But aside from nebulous statements from his agent, no one is saying what the actual problem is. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8560475

All that's being said is that it's some kind of health reason--either his or a family member's but that they anticipate him filming GBBO. That remains to be seen. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8560554
RoxiP January 22 Share January 22 I hope whatever is going on gets resolved successfully and that he does indeed return to GBBO. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8561061

Eh, he's been OK but not more than that. Allison, however, was MADE for this show. She's terrific. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8561080

I find most of his attempts at humor either fall flat or are intrusive. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8561181
RoxiP January 23 Share January 23 I enjoy his awkwardness. I also agree that Allison is amazing. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8562265
LeDucDiableBleu January 23 Share January 23 I mostly like him but I find his jokes about drinking blood, death, etc off putting. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8562476
Irlandesa January 23 Share January 23 He's okay but I never understood why Matt Lucas was considered awful and Noel good. I actually liked Matt a bit more because I felt he cared more and I am someone who normally finds Lucas annoying. Noel is better the past few seasons but I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced if we could get someone on par with Allison. Besides, his past chumminess with Russell Brand never sat right with me. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8562549
chaifan January 27 Share January 27 For me, 80% of the time Noel is either boring or just weird for the sake of being weird. There are few times I find him genuinely funny, actually laughing at something he said. And I'm not talking about the scripted stuff - that's just drudgery no matter who is saying the lines. I'm talking about the off the cuff interactions with the bakers or ad libs with the other hosts. I will burst out a little laugh at so much of what comes out of Allison's mouth (or her prat falls), but not so much for Noel. Allison is so much closer to a Mel/Sue vibe than any of the other hosts have ever been. Mel & Sue set the bar very very high, though. In any regard, I hope whatever he's dealing with resolves and that everyone is ok. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/12562-gbbo-in-the-media/page/21/#findComment-8565097
