I remember Amos's finger but I didn't know about entire limbs. There was also a scene in season one where somebody complained that he had to use a robot prosthetic, because the company wouldn't spring to regrow his arm. Which I called bullshit on at the time. There is no way a robot prosthetic is cheaper than just regrowing the arm. 1 1 Link to comment

Way back in the first season, one of the Canterbury crew had one of his limbs sheared off. The next time we saw him, he was in the sick bay with the limb restored. In that scene he was wishing for a high end prosthetic arm. It sounded like he was bragging he would get the I-Phone 59 of prosthetics. I don't think they re-grow whole limbs; it looked like Michio connected"nerves" that would eventually be wired into the artificial limb. Drummer and her crew showed what "on the float" means, as they waited to attack the supply cache. Loved Camina pulling an Anderson Dawes, "I have stolen your secret, Marco In-ur-ass, and I am giving it to the Belt!". TLS remembered Rosenfeld's words when he saw Drummer's mega diss of Marco, and seems to be seeing how he can stand by his father. Bobbie encountered Filip on Mars, (Season 4), stealing stealth tech so she has no reservations about "dusting" him. I don't mind that they're showing us Laconia even though they may not conclude it in this season; I'll prefer any amount of Expanse they give us. When they "ended" the show after Season 3, we got no hints of what was to come in the rest of the books, so I can live with a teaser/novella about the content to come, wherever, whenever. 1 3 Link to comment

"Unbowed, unbent, unbroken" are the house words of the Martells. It's a nod to the show. Apparently some one, the writer or director, worked on GOT before joining the Expanse. (Imagine Spock wishing Drummer, "Live long and prosper" and she replies, "Live shamed, die empty!", lol.) 1 1 1 Link to comment

I will have to rewatch but I'm 99,9% sure that he was talking about having it regrown. I can distincly remember that I thought is was bullshit that a robotic arm was cheaper than having one regrown. Maybe you read the books and it was different there? I can blieve that regrowing limbs is a lot cheaper for a TV show than having to CGI actors body parts to look like prosthetics for the rest of the show. 1 Link to comment

I believe Kirk said that to Alan Ruck in TNG GENERATIONS when they took the new Enterprise out of space dock. Speaking of Walker, I noticed he was serving on the TYNAN this episode. I wonder if this is because Drummer wants to keep an eye on him ? I hope he's loyal to her, I like his character. "So much for anonymity" I think the Laconia scenes are setting the table for a possible future movie/miniseries if they ever can get iit made. I don't see there being enough time to integrate Laconia into the main cast/arc with only two episodes left. 2 Link to comment

Both of the writers of the expanse books have worked closely with Goerge R. R. Martin, the writer of the song of ice and fire books and recently won a bet, who'd finish their series first, against him: https://winteriscoming.net/2021/06/04/the-expanse-authors-finish-final-book-win-bet-george-rr-martin/ So they are co-workers and to some extend friends, is where the connection comes in. As far as I can tell it has nothing to do with the show and only with the books... thank god for that. 2 1 Link to comment

Eulipian 5k January 5, 2022 Share January 5, 2022 While Naomi’s conversation with Holden is one of the best of the series, she should remember that SHE is already responsible for everything that happened from her giving Fred the protomolecule; Fred’s killing, anything Duarte and Cortozar do on Laconia, etc Link to comment
JZL January 5, 2022 Share January 5, 2022 (edited) One can only hope for more content later, but that's very rare once cast and crew disperse and sets and props are stricken. That said, it probably happens more often these days than it use to. BSG, Breaking Bad, and Deadwood are examples off the top of my head, and soon GoT. It'll be interesting to see where the people in this production go after, but that's for another topic. Edited January 5, 2022 by JZL 1 2 Link to comment

If it’s the only gun left in the solar system, I’d take the punishment, lol. I am being a little unfair; TBS would have assassinated Fred anyway, but still…she had the original Corona virus sample stolen from the lab and passed it on. This whole conversation made me curious about just what happened in the first episode. Here's the dialogue about the man who lost his arm. In the scene, he is missing the arm, and Shed's cleaning the wound. Holden: Hey, Paj, how's the arm? Paj: Looking good. Still got a few nerves, though. Shed's been telling me how the prosthetic's gonna hook up. Shed: Well, you know that naturally, the company'll try to screw you out of a good one, right? Paj: I've been signed on long enough to get one with force feedback, pressure and temp sensors, the whole package. Shed: I know. What you should have is that new bio-gel they developed on the inner planets. Then you wouldn't need a prosthetic. It regrows the limb perfectly. Paj: Screw the Inners and their magic Jell-O. 4 3 Link to comment
Macbeth January 5, 2022 Share January 5, 2022 (edited) Finally - Micchio shows she's good in a medical situation. She would be as she has had significant training. Which is a really stupid plot device. She's not tough enough to fight - need to get her off the ship. But she;s actually good medic?? Now she can stay. WTF. With all the pirating Drummer and her crew were doing - this could not be the first medical emergency. And even if it was - there is no way Drummer wouldn't know that Micchio was a medic. That was a very small crew she had. Probably the reason Drummer let her on board to begin with. You never, ever boot the medic. Show. Don't paint Drummer as a fool. She deserves better. So they were talking about the regrow gel, but he didn't want it. Seems like I didn't quite remember that right. It's been a few years. I guess my problem with it was that the company would provide any prosthetic when there is some regrow gel availible. That sounds quite a bit cheaper. 5 hours ago, Macbeth said: With all the pirating Drummer and her crew were doing - this could not be the first medical emergency. I think the point was more that it seemed like Micchio couldn't handle the preassure. Drummer is so differend from her that she couldn't understand that it wasn't the preassure per se but the killing that Micchio couldn't handle. Edited January 5, 2022 by Zonk 4 Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu January 9, 2022 Share January 9, 2022 What's Filip up to with that rah rah speech at the end? Seemed to me like he realized that dud might've happened because of him, but he likely thinks Naomi saved him instead of Holden. Is he trying to throw people off the track so he can undermine Marco now? <fingers crossed> Yeah, Drummer went all Olenna Tyrell with it. My favorite comment from reddit: Quote Tell Marco it was me. I want him to know it was me. 1 1 Link to comment
