I just watched this on AMC+ and the Inside the Episode that immediately followed just flat out said that Daniel hid the weapons and sent Grace and Charlie to the cave. I believe TPTB thought they were being obvious about what was going on, while the rest of us were absolutely looking for whoever set Daniel up.

The more you know, I guess.
