Trini November 28 Share November 28 Can anyone help with this random bit of trivia that resurfaced in my brain?? I'm looking for the episode or host. There was an episode where a major cast member was leaving, and every sketch was a sketch with this castmember's most famous characters. And I just can't think of which castmember it was! I want to say that it was sometime pre-Andy Samberg, if that helps at all. And I'm pretty sure it was a male castmember, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Lantern7 November 28 Share November 28 Watching the Thanksgiving special. I heard there would be cut sketches. So far, I’ve seen an old Martha Stewart bit and a weatherman getting hit with a sudden hurricane alert. Crashcourse November 28 Share November 28 I watched the Thanksgiving special. It was ok, but not nearly as good as the Christmas special. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/112041-vintage-episodes-snl-through-the-years/page/8/#findComment-8520241
Cloud9Shopper November 28 Share November 28 (edited) My favorite skits from the Thanksgiving special were Penelope (seriously underrated character who I wish had been in more skits) at the church dinner, Your Hometown, and the airport Thanksgiving week parade. I just put in my notice at a grocery store job and was definitely thinking about who would be on our Thanksgiving week parade if they did such a skit with us. 🤣 But I look more forward to the Christmas special. I watch it every year even though I know every skit by heart. Since I am "of an age" , it's not Christmas until lead singer Garrett Morris and all of the Season One cast (with host Candace Bergen) sing Winter Wonderland. With the Howard Shore band/Paul Shafer on keyboards. I don't remember the exact episode you're talking about - although it sounds familiar. Are you sure it wasn't maybe when said performer returned to guest host? Anyway, the first person who comes to my mind is Mike Myers. He had a lot of different characters. Dr.OO7 Monday at 02:32 AM Share Monday at 02:32 AM I LOVE the Christmas Special. It's strange how a compilation of raunchy comedy bits is not only one of my must-do holiday traditions, it's what finally gets me in the spirit. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/112041-vintage-episodes-snl-through-the-years/page/8/#findComment-8539054

Curious . . . is there an archive on which sketches have made past Christmas specials?
