Didn’t think they’d go there.  Scotty gets away with a big score but he gave up his escape route.

So the Gemstones will get their revenge but the way they dealt with Seasons, they should hire professional mercenaries to get their revenge, not use Jesse’s bumbling crew.

Baby Billy cuts Judy off from Eli and BJ.  What a motherfucker.

Its ridiculous that there weren’t security guards escorting the money where Scotty was going to ambush them but then they keep all that cash on site?

Without guards?

No security for Eli, even with his meaty hands?

Televangelists are suppose to be far from godly people but the way they talk to each other is kind of incredible.  If you talked to some people like the way they do, there would be fights.  BJ may let Baby Billy talk to him that way or let Baby Billy’s gf show open contempt but you’d think Jesse would fight.

The Easter ceremony was as delightfully over-the-top and bombastic as I hoped it would be.  The shadow performances behind Jesse were probably the highlights, but special shoutout to Kelvin and his youth dance trope, because that is totally something I imagine they do to try and make Christianity look "hip with the young-ins!"

Oh, Judy!  I understand your hurt over how Eli held you back and I don't blame you for wanting to find your own way, but Baby Billy is probably way worst than your father, and now you've likely pushed BJ away.  Edi Patterson continues to shine like she always does.

So, Gideon ends up siding with the family in the end, but Scotty still manages to kidnap him and Jesse, reveal the truth about Gideon, and walk away with the money (for now.)  It was stupid of Gideon to not inform the guards that Scotty was no longer welcome at the Gemstone house.

We now see that Amber has a whole secret room filled with guns.  Yeah, that is so going to factor in come finale time.

Can't wait to see how these last two episodes play out!

First off, thanks to either Jesus or Judas for making this the first (literal) dick free ep.

Amber will probably turn out to be the biggest psycho in the family. I was shocked that Gideon didn't get shot by her or Scottie before the episode ended. Also shocking, Jesse in his special dickish way accepting Gideon presumedly being gay or bi. That was something I never expected to see.

I guess I will give Jesse some credit, he did handle Gideon being possibly gay or bisexual (he isnt, but Jessie hasn't picked up on that) pretty well, in his dickish kind of way. Its the thought that counts I guess.

The super over the top Easter service was as ridiculous and Extra as I thought it would be! My favorite bit was when Jesse was doing his sermon while the interpretive dancers were in the background as silhouettes reenacting Easter scenes. A close second was Kelvin and his troop of "hip" youth dancers. That is such a thing in the mega church style Christian movement, I was dying!

Oh Judy, I get why your upset with your dad, but backing Baby Billy is the worst possible move to make! And just when Eli was warming up to having her more involved after being so proud watching her dance! Now she is separated from her family, and from BJ, who really has done nothing but be supportive even when she treats him like crap. Uncle Baby Billy is not the best way to get back at dad.

Well it looks like its time for shit to get real. Gideon decided to stick with his family, but Scotty still gets his big score. Really, I cant believe that none of them have more security, in the housing compound or especially in the vault with all of the money! Amber and her massive ass gun collection and dead aim are definitely going to be a factor in all of this.

I am enjoying this show, I mainly sit there shaking my head at them but it does make me laugh. The amount of swearing and taking the Lord's name in vain from these "religious" people is a bit shocking. I have a relative who is a minister of one of those large churches and the over the top stuff in the church services is spot on and how people kiss up to the minister and his family.

I am glad BJ finally stood up for himself and if he is smart he will stay away from Judy. Eli and Judy are terrible people but they are entertaining.

Adam DeVine is one of those actors that can get on my nerves, but it does make me laugh how he tries to act young for the church youth with his hair and the tight jeans on his fitfat body.

That Easter service was totally believable to anyone who has attended one of these types of churches. From the shadow dancing to the suburban interpretations of "hip-hop" it was all realistic. I have actually seen reenactments of the crucifixion with an 8 ft cross and a man tied to it while "Via delarosa" was being sung.  And Kirk Franklin's musical compositions have done more to make predominately white evangelical Christians feel hip than anything I can remember. "Stomp" was a particular favorite back in the day.

I find it very odd that Gideon didn’t tell the guards that Scottie was persona non grata on the compound after he kicked his ass.

It was the major sticking point for me in an otherwise great episode.

I was really really hoping that Scotty's heist would work and that he would take all of these people out as part of it. That's it. Show's over. Happy ending.

It's already been picked up for a second season, so unlikely.

I'm hoping Psycho Scottie gets arrested and thrown into a prison farm doing hard labor under the South Carolina heat. THAT would be a happy ending.
