I have a feeling Bob will appeal his conviction. Sad that there has to be an Institute for Strangulation Prevention.

I do think the detective, as kind as he was, dropped the ball in not collecting evidence at the scene. He admitted he did notice some things were odd, like the floor and washrag being dry, the undisturbed towel and bottles, etc. I'm sure there were other things they would have found if they had a forensic team in.

I thought that was odd, too. The one thing that stuck out to me in the pictures of the bathroom was that the toilet seat was up.  Bob said he left the house in the morning and didn't go back into the house until he brought the kids home mid afternoon when he found Stacy. So Stacy, though she supposedly used the bath tub, never used the toilet? Not likely. But Bob did, and left the seat up.

What I found most infuriating was the sloppy job done by the medical examiner with regards to Stacy's autopsy. It seems to me that if the first examiner is unable to determine a cause of death in a 44 year old woman, maybe there should be a second opinion automatically? The fact that she had over 100 (I think it was) petechiae hemorrhages which the original examiner called "a few" seems pretty negligent right there. And many other signs including the defensive wounds on her hands, the amount of bruising on her body, etc.

Poor Arlene, that is a lot of loss. Glad she took Peanut in and adopted a new dog later on. I don't really understand why this murder ever became a cold case when the evidence the cops already had available to them at the time would have been enough to convict this guy.

And I personally do not feel juveniles' records should always be sealed. People can be very much who they will be by an early age, and him viciously murdering his parents for deciding to move is certainly relevant information in regard to his murder trial as well as to anyone who might invite this guy into their lives.

That was so infuriating, that the evidence to convict Rick was in an envelope that no one had bothered to open. So often it seems these cold cases are solved by evidence that was already there, just not followed up on due to sloppy police work.

Though I had no doubt that Rick killed Lori, he said something that made it obvious to me. When he killed his mother and step dad, after several years he was able at the age of 21 to start his life over with a clean slate. He said after he was convicted of Lori's murder that he was shocked, that he thought he was going to go free and be able to start his life over. Not continue with his life, but start it over. Just like he had after he murdered before.

I wonder why they didn't make his plea deal to be able to escape the death penalty contingent on telling the authorities and Lori's family what he did with her body? Thank goodness that Arlene has been able to move on, but what a horrible amount of loss. Losing family members to murder, cancer and Covid? Horrific.

  3. Sutton and Kathy were the MVPs of this episode for me.

I loved Sutton talking to the animals while the snowmobiling demonstration was happening. True animal lovers are my favourite people. I also loved the outfit Sutton wore to dinner. I would kill for her breasts. As someone who is big breasted and small boned, I totally understood Kathy's comment to Sutton to be a compliment.

Speaking of Kathy, can TPTB bring her back next year but ditch Kyle? She is such a bitch to Kathy. I am sure that she thought Kathy would balk at sleeping in a bunk bed, but Kathy rolled with it. Then Kyle is such a bad host that she leaves hangers but no room to hang clothes? I also loved Kathy's purse at dinner, and that she told Kyle to stop swearing. I would love to have Kathy as a sister, Kyle not so much.

Why didn't Diana refer to Erika as a c**t, rather than a bitch? We know that Erika thinks it is a compliment, she has the necklace to prove it. I did enjoy that Diana stayed pretty much silent though, other than her slithering tongue licking her lips constantly. That really does turn my stomach.

Did they say why Garcelle didn't drive her own machine? That's the best part of snowmobiling. And I keep wondering, why is Sheree along even as a "friend of"? She adds nothing to the show. Zip.

  4. The boys are my favourite team, so I am so glad that they were not eliminated. Pretty smart too to see the alternate route and have it pay off. I do like Court and Ali though, so am also sad to see them go.

My second fav team is Catherine and Craig. Craig makes me tear up pretty much every episode, and Catherine is so impressive in her determination and talents. Honestly, though there is one I don't really care for, I think  all teams are deserving and will be happy with whatever team ultimately wins. I have enjoyed every moment of this season, and the showcasing of our beautiful country has been outstanding.

  5. I almost didn't watch the episode due to the comments about the pile on, but I have just finished it.

The positives - a kitty sighting at Sutton's. That fact that Sutton is a cat lover is one of the many reasons I adore her.

Loved that Storm got to go to Aspen. Such an adorable furbaby, and by far the best behaved guest of the bunch.

So Kathy is high maintenance because she asked for butter, cutlery, and commented that the corn wasn't cooked? Maybe you're just a lousy host, Kyle.

And speaking of Kyle being a lousy host, if anyone ever called another woman at c**t in my home, she would be escorted out. Now that Diana said that is not a surprise. But the fact that Kyle defended her? You are a c**t Kyle, along with your slithering, forked tongued friend.

Also disappointed that Kathy wanted Diana to stay.  I usually find Kathy quirky and harmless, but that was ridiculous. I wonder what would happen if someone called the Richards sisters c**ts? Would they be fine with it, because the deliverer of the word was just giving their opinion? Something tells me it would not be received in the same manor as apparently Sutton was supposed to receive it. FO Kyle.

I do not like Rinna, but she literally had me crying.

Rinna had me crying too. I lost my mom 15 1/2 years ago, and watching Lisa's grief made it feel like yesterday. I don't remember taking my grief out on people, but I definitely wasn't myself for likely a year, and would fall to pieces at the oddest times. Lisa obviously adored her mother as I did mine, and I feel her pain.

Homeless Not Toothless? You'd think the charity would be Toothless Not Homeless. But who am I to judge what these rich people spend their money on. I always find it interesting though that they have to have a dinner or auction to raise money. I donate mostly to animal rescue charities, but I just send them e-transfers. No need to give me anything in return.

I did love Kathy not being able to read the calligraphy, and her immediate request for the name of the charity to be repeated. I did the same in my head, Kathy.

So Diana wants another child with her man child. Isn't she getting a bit long in the tooth for a 4th child? Why doesn't she just hire a surrogate? In any case she has no storyline and is boring AF. Please make her a one and done.

When I said that there is often editing, I didn't mean to suggest that they didn't cheat, what I meant was that they edited what we saw to make it less obvious that they had also looked at the chalkboards to have a surprise at the mat where they would actually be eliminated instead of the father/son. I think they figured that many people would not have noticed.

Many teams have taken penalties in the past. You can take one any time you want. I still remember the time that Rob and Amber took the 4 hour Roadblock penalty for not eating the meat and then convinced another team behind them to do it too which guaranteed that they would not be eliminated.

    https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2005/03/the-amazing-race-7-rob_quits_task/

Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. And I agree that they edited what happened so that it would be a surprise at the mat that Jully and Kathy would be the ones to be eliminated.

I stopped watching the American version years ago, so only started watching the franchise again with the arrival of the Canadian version. I do remember previously some taking penalties after trying a task for a period of time, but don't think I have seen any in ARC take a penalty without first trying. I guess in theory it could be a strategy, in which case two hours seems like too short of a penalty to me.

Everything gets edited, so they may have included certain scenes out of order.

Disappointed in the whole cheating fiasco, but I'm glad that it was a 2 hour penalty - I was worried that it might only be 20 minutes.

They could have edited out of order, but Jon said on the mat that Jully looked at other team's board before they called for their final check, and their final board that they showed to get their pass only had the final number, no calculations. Can't really edit that out of order.

Jully claimed to not remember "touching" a board and Kathy claimed not to have seen her touch it (there were actually two boards picked up). Then Kathy said that they knew that if something was left out it was fair game, but that digging through the bins was not OK. So however it was edited, it seems to me they knew what they did (or at least Kathy admitted it) and that it was against the rules.

Tychon and Cedric were at least up front from the get go. They thought of it as a short cut and knew they would get a two hour penalty, and thought the risk was worth it. Obviously the show also just considered it an offense worthy of just a penalty as Jully and Kathy were eliminated because their time with the penalty was longer than Cedric and Tychon's with their penalty.

To me there should be different penalties for taking "short cuts", and not completing a task. And honestly I think two hours is too short, should be three minimum. Is there anything stopping a team from deciding right away at a task that they would rather take a penalty? Do they have to attempt a task for a certain period of time before deciding to take a penalty instead?

I agree 💯.  Junky & Kathy did not outright cheat but they get the boot because they touched a board?  Yet the cheaters stayed.  Shame on you CTV, I’m not sure I want to watch anymore

If you have the ability to play back the scene, Jully looked at the first board for several second before putting it down and picking up another which she did put down right away. Kathy pretty much admitted to cheating to my mind by what she said to Jon. Jully did not.  I thought it was interesting that Jon also pointed out to them on the mat that they looked at the competitor's board before calling for their final check, I think he knew quite well that they cheated, not just that they touched a board and that was all.

I am so disappointed with Tychon and Cedric for outright cheating. I enjoy their dynamic, and Tychon is very easy on the eyes, but I have no respect for cheaters. At least with Jully and Kathy, it seemed that their look at the board was not for the purpose of cheating, and it didn't affect them because they did finally have the correct answer, but I believe T&C should have been given the boot along with J&K.

I think that Jully and Kathy absolutely did cheat. When they called for checks previously their board had their calculations and the final number. The last board the editors showed before they called for a check also had calculations. Jon himself said that Jully looked at the competitor's board (actually Jully looked at more than one) before calling for the final check. Their board with the correct number only had the final number written on it, no calculations what so ever. I turned to my hubby at the point and said "They cheated".

In addition Jully told John that she didn't realize that she touched a board, (when she actually didn't only "touch", but picked up more than one) and Kathy said she didn't realize it either when she was actually watching her. So sorry, as far as I can see they not only cheated but lied about it. At least Tychon and Cedric though dishonest in their actions, owned up to it.  Jully and Kathy did not.

I live in the Okanagan Valley and Jealous Fruits where they were counting trees sells their produce by the pound, as does Davison Orchards where the pies were made. I can't think of any grower here, whether a large facility like those two or a farmer selling produce at a roadside stand who does not sell by the pound.

My cat owns me, my cat will sit on a table or kitchen island to just hang out with me, non cat people tend to have a hard time with all the counter sitting, I think Sutton just might be able to normalize it, lol.

I can't find the post where someone suggested that there should be a show about the howives' pets. Real Pets of Beverly Hills/OC/NY etc. I would watch it in a second.

I have had various saying around my house at different times relating to animals. A sample : a pillow that says "Never Trust Anyone Who Doesn't Like Cats"; a plaque that says "We had to get rid of the kids! The cat was allergic"; "If you don't like fur, stay off the couch"; and my personal favourite, a welcome mat that says "Pets Welcome, Children Must Be On a Leash". Luckily my hubby is as animal crazy as I am, so has no problem with my choice of decor. 🤣

  12. What a boring episode. Way too much of Diana's party. Her home is so cold and soulless, kind of like its owner I guess. Asher in his red suit looked and sounded like a lounge singer on a discount cruise ship. All that was missing was the drunken heckler. Oh wait, she was there.

At this point the only howife I really enjoy is Sutton. Though she can be awkward, I find her funny and endearing. I'd hang out with her anytime.

  13. I have never had a miscarriage but do have friends who have, and they did not bleed for three months afterwards. But then again I give a side eye to most of what Diana says, so don't necessarily believe her.  I wish that Sutton had suggested that maybe Diana is going through menopause.

Speaking of Sutton, I thought she handled Diana quite well at lunch. Especially when she told Diana that she was delusional. At one point when Diana said to Sutton that she (Diana) needed professional help I thought "finally, something we agree on!" Then she went on to say she needed help to deal with Sutton. For someone who professes to have such an amazing life and background, you'd think Sutton would be a piece of cake. But Diana is a bully, and bullies gonna bully.

Hmmm, could be a third reason. Maybe he was glad to be rid of her sparking personality. I know I would be.

That was one fugly outfit. I was trying to see the name on the hat but the logo appeared to be blurred.

Speaking of fugly, Diana does not have one redeeming quality. I was hoping that when she jumped in the water and swam away, the boat would take off and leave her.

I find that Diana gives off similar vibes to what Erika gave off in her first seasons. Flaunting her wealth in a sneering way, as if she did something to earn it other than marry it.  And it would not surprise me if Diana's husband's wealth was  from some questionable sources. He was married to his first wife for almost 20 years, and right away married Diana who he was then only married to for 10 years. But he supposedly happily paid her 150 million? I  call B.S. on Diana claiming that they made the money together. He was in his banking career before she came along, and I am not sure what Diana would have done to further it? All in all she seems to be even more of a fake than Erika, and that is a pretty high bar to clear.

I could be mistaken, but I thought when Bridges was calling to set up the rental, he was talking to a man, who said “It’ll be good to put a face to the name “, like Bridges had this all set up for a while. Or is Zoe’s just a stop on the way to another destination?

It does seem like this is a different place that the one Dan was referring to on the phone. Besides the man telling Dan it will be good to put a name to the face, Dan said that there was a list there of things to bring in for him, ie. almond milk, so it seems like he has stayed there at least a few times previously. Also Zoe's place does not allow dogs, and I doubt Dan would have been staying regularly at some place that did not allow dogs.

Weren't the scrambled eggs the morning after? It looked like Dan was getting ready to leave and heard a noise in Zoey's house. When he went to check he found her upset about her son, and set about making the scrambled eggs as she had told him at dinner the night before that her mom used to make her scrambled eggs when she was upset.

  17. Hubby and I watched the first two episodes tonight, and we are hooked! Truth be told, I was hooked as soon as I knew Dan's dogs were named Carol and Dave. And as one who also hates it when animals are killed in movies/series, I am just going to believe that the writers will keep them safe.

The only part I wasn't crazy about was the insta relationship between Dan and his landlady. And her long monologue at dinner was putting me to sleep. However the scene where Dan made her scrambled eggs like her mother used to when she was a kid and upset, melted my heart.

The whole cast, and especially Lithgow is great. But Jeff Bridges is just outstanding (as always). Mind you he could read the phone book and I would be riveted. In any case we already can't wait for the next episode on Thursday!

Love that Erika is looking chubby.  WTF was she wearing at the dinner?  A sweat suit?

Speaking of being not skinny, Diana was probably horrified by that shot of her walking into the water on the beach - her gut was huge.  I know she just had a baby, and that is totally normal, nothing to be ashamed of, but I am sure she was not thrilled.  I am surprised Bravo showed that... actually not surprised, Bravo is a bunch of jerks.  In the pics we saw of her a few episodes ago, she was stick skinny when she was younger.

All I could think of when I saw what Erika was wearing at dinner was that I had a track suit just like that in the 80s. And that even if Mikey is now working for free, he is getting paid too much.

Like others I was impressed that Kyle and Crystal did not have glam squads. I was a bit disappointed that Garcelle travelled with one, maybe because of being on a talk show now she is used to having hair and make up done by others every day? I also loved Kyle ironing her own clothes but did wonder if that was a price tag hanging off the jumpsuit when she turned it around? Reminded me of Sonja on RHoNY who wears her clothes with the tags so that she can return them.

I had no problem with Bravo showing Diana's chunky body. In fact, bravo to Bravo. She is a pretentious snob that I have no doubt is hiding the real source of her money. Kind of like an Erika 2.0

Speaking of Erika, was Crystal sitting on her lap at the bar on the beach? WTF? If so Crystal had better be careful having her back too close to Erika. If Erika's MO holds, Crystal could have a knife in her back by the end of the season.

  21. I have no doubt that Laura drowned her step son, and likely was right there in the water when it happened. As the expert testified, he would not have floated, he would have sank. So the likelihood of her being able to find him would be pretty slim I would think unless she was right there.

The fact that she smiled and waved to the fisherman as she left the beach cinched it for me. But everything pretty much added up to her making up the story about her step son wanting to go on a picnic, and  Laura making sure she was in a deserted spot.

I am always amazed at how these women manage to find so many losers to marry them. Though the guy she left for David seemed like a good guy, but women like that are always looking for the next fix and need for something new. I actually laughed at the loser who was I think her first husband? The one she met in jail who blubbered and said he would always love her. And then there is the guy who is waiting for her to get out. WTF is with these morons?
