  1. Like others, I am appalled that Michelle had her conviction overturned. I have no doubt that she is guilty.  She seemed guilty right away to me when the niece arrived at the carnival to find Michelle just standing there. It was the 15 year old niece FFS who had to go get a police officer and tell him there was a missing child. And then of course there was Michelle's ever changing story, fake Ellen and fake Ellen's friends with knives.

I am also appalled though at the sloppy police work. To not bother contacting the teacher who found the shoe, who then had to go to media three weeks later to have the police do anything? And to just assume that the blanket was unrelated without even checking? Un-friggin-believable.

I agree with posters who say that it makes no sense that the carni who said he remembered Timmy would be believed, but not the niece and babysitters who recognized the blanket. Hubby and I thought that maybe Michelle was there a previous day with Timmy, didn't think that it could have been earlier in the day which is also possible.

One thing that I wondered was who was the parent of the niece? They only interviewed the niece, and the sister who had moved away and believed everything that Michelle said.  Maybe they said it and I missed it, but found it interesting that those were the only two family members interviewed.

I don't understand why Michelle was just exonerated without having to stand another trial? And you would think that the blanket would have been tested, regardless of cost if it meant making sure that a killer was not being set free.

Hasn't Heather always claimed the lawsuit was dropped? They agreed to a settlement before trial and Terry's malpractice insurance company wrote a check. Which, just to let Heather know, is not the definition of 'dropped' and that actually Nicole won. Interesting that there's no NDA for medical lawsuits.

    Get well, Archie.

I thought Heather was implying at her party where she went BSC that the lawsuit was dropped - in that it never went anywhere. IIRC Nicole said that she never wanted to sue, that her lawyer talked her into it. But that she dropped it. While I think your scenario is more likely, I don't think Heather, Terry or even Nicole have ever admitted it.  It might also explain why there was a 45 minute convo (according to Gina) about it at the reunion but most of it was left on the cutting room floor.

I don't understand why Gina was so mad about what John said. He said it to Shannon, and was trying to support her and make her feel better. I mostly remember John saying he was done with Gina. That's Gina's favourite phrase, and the one she used on vacation when she was drunk and tried to slam swinging doors. STFU Gina.

When Heather said, "Wouldn't I remember writing a check?" in response to Noella mentioning Nicole's malpractice lawsuit settlement, it's the malpractice insurance company who writes the check, not the doctor personally.  Why would Heather say that?

I posted about this comment last night but for the life of me don't know where I posted it - lol. The other thing I found interesting during this conversation was Gina saying that they had been discussing the topic for 45 minutes. There must have been a lot of editing to whittle it down to 10 minutes or so. But also makes me believe that there is more to the story than Heather is saying.

Thank you for articulating my feelings.  That’s why I can’t stand Mattea.  She’s all about “look at me.”  There have been blind contestants, contestants on the spectrum and none of them have been as attention thirsty as she is.

I am wondering why a blind contestant or a contestant on the spectrum would be considered attention thirsty?

I like Mattea precisely because she is so relaxed. A couple of months ago there was a multi game winning contestant who seemed utterly miserable the whole time she was on the show. Even Ken commented a few times on her demeanor. I found her very uncomfortable to watch. Likewise a contestant who was on a few weeks ago. She had a very clipped way of asking for the clues and answering, and never smiled. Give me chatty, relaxed Mattea any day.

I don't think the fact that I am Canadian has coloured my view of Mattea but eh, maybe it has? ☺️

This entire episode there was about 10 minutes of actual doctoring, besides:

Medicare scams, babies, egg donations, child rearing, sperm donoring, marriage plans/proposals. . . .WTF!

The only thing I enjoyed in this epi was the marriage plans/proposals because I love Kit and Bell together. As for the rest of the storylines? Not interested.

It pains me to know at some point they will kill George Sr’s character off. He’s probably my favorite character on this show!  He’s actually pretty level-headed all series.

I almost didn't start watching this show when it first aired based on that (and that I didn't think he would be a likeable character). George and Missy are tied for my fav character with Georgie a close second. Sheldon is dead last.

  7. I missed that Sherri's husband had set up the Go Fund Me himself. Yes, what exactly were people supposed to be donating to it for? I am sure none wanted to pay off his credit card debt.

I guess the whole thing was for attention? There were certainly signs of her extreme need for it. Her blog postings about her wedding? One was titled 243 Days Before the Wedding or some similar number. No one cares that your wedding is months and months away. No. One.

I really hope Sherri is given some jail time. but I won't be surprised if she isn't. I cam glad that the old boyfriend who thought he was saving her wasn't charged. Jail time would not fix stupid.

  8. While it is a serious subject, I thought this was one of the funniest episodes ever of this series. I think it will be interesting to see where the writers take the storyline. Am I misremembering, or did Georgie first tell Mandy that he was 24? It is very unlikely that a 29 year old would not be using some form of birth control. And also very unlikely that Mandy wanted anything other than a fun casual relationship with what she thought was a 24 year old guy. And birth control certainly can fail. I have a married friend who got pregnant twice using birth control, once with an IUD and the second time on the pill.

It definitely makes no sense for a 29 and 17 year old to get married, and doesn't make sense also when only one of them (thinks he) is in love. So not sure where it should go, but the writing is funny as hell so I am just along for the ride.

Couldn't watch Saturday's episode about the big game "hunters". I admittedly have such an extreme prejudice against people who enjoy shooting animals to death for sport, that I find myself not caring.

I abhor trophy hunters. And as others have said there were way too many pictures shown of husband and wife with their "trophies".  I actually have no sympathy for the wife - one less person to kill defenseless animals. In fact there is a bit of irony that the hunter became the hunted. And I have no doubt that the husband killed her. I only hope he does get sent to prison, if only to have one less morally corrupt person hunting these magnificent animals.

They showed a couple of pics of the daughter, and in one especially - wow, what an unattractive person, Maybe that was the reason for the digitally altered pic, but it didn't help.

I think they said she was sued initially but she was dropped from the lawsuit because of some prosecutorial immunity law, or something.

It's been so long since the original Pam Hupp story aired I didn't remember it at all, and I haven't watched The Thing About Pam either. This was a good refresher.

I guess it speaks to how delusional she is about herself and her own judgment.

She was dropped from Russ's suit, but I don't think they ever said that the 4 friends sued her as well. She was dropped from Russ's suit because he wasn't allowed to sue Askey, which would mean his buddies would not be able to either. Which is a crime in my mind.

What was mind numbingly stupid/prejudicial was that Russ's lawyer was not allowed to bring up that Pam benefited from Betsy's death and was the last known person to see her alive. BUT Askey was allowed to accuse 4 men of conspiring to help Russ kill Betsy,  with not a shred of evidence and a far fetched theory. The judge should have been disbarred as well as Askey. They both lost their reelections, but I don't think that was enough.

You should watch The Thing About Pam. It is fantastic.

Askey's comment that she would put her morals up against everyone else's is deeply revealing. She's riddled with small-town judgment and personal superiority and brought that into the case. That monstrous ego allows her to try to continue to cling to her story.

Not only did she say her morals, but her education and experience. But it was stated that Russ's case was her first murder case. So no experience. Nada. None. Zilch.  Went hand in hand with her lack of morals. Nada. None. Zilch.

  11. I agree that I was shocked at how badly Pam covered her tracks, in both Betsy's murder and Louis's murder. For someone who was addicted to true crime/crime novels, you would think she would have learned a thing or two about what not to do.

And yes, as I was watching Russ, Pam, pretty much everyone once again after watching The Thing About Pam, I was also struck by the fantastic casting. Renee really did nail Pam, and deserves and Emmy nod for her performance.

Dr. Jen - the title card at the end said she had separated from Ryne. No surprise there.

Actually the card said that she had put her house up for sale, that she and Ryne(d) had separated for over a month, and that they were currently looking for a new home for a fresh start.  Guess we will get an update at the reunion to hear if that is still the case.

Shane saved the episode for me. I've always been a fan, and loved it when he showed Emily the ring and then snapped the box closed - LOL.  I must say Gina looked very jealous as Shane kept stacking rings on Emily's finger. Maybe Emily will be Gina's target next year. It would make as much sense as Shannon being her target this year.

The band thing was dumb. Lip syncing to an auto tuned song, and pretending to play instruments? As others have noted, I would expect that from maybe the teenaged kids of the howives.

All in all a bust of a season. I wonder if they will shake up the cast next year? Jen is a waste of space. Noella is only useful because she gets under Heather's skin. Gina is too full of herself. I loved that the card at the end made reference to that - lol.  The only one I care to see next year is Shannon, not only because I like her but also like her kids, her SO and especially Archie. And they can keep Emily only because Shane's snark is worth putting up with her.

  13. Well that was an interesting Dateline case of the murdered state senator. I knew of course that it wasn't the ex husband since Dateline spent so much of the first hour focusing on him as the prime suspect. They did do a good job of not shining a light on Becky, though I thought her comment  to the police when she was interviewed that Linda would be mad at her for the things she was telling them was odd, considering Linda was dead and could not get mad. Kudos to the interviewer for noticing that Becky shed no tears and was fake crying.

I did think that it was likely a female when they showed the person outside at Linda's covering themselves with a sheet- it definitely looked like a female form underneath the sheet.

Linda's ex can't be too happy that Dateline focused so much on him, and it seems that much of what was said against him was said by Becky so possibly not even true. Also Dateline conveniently left out that in the letter Phillip wrote to dispute the allegations made against him, including Linda saying that he poisoned her with mercury, he stated that Linda had tooth  filling that contained mercury removed, and that resolved her issues. Certainly an easily verifiable claim.

The "gotcha" video of Becky with the bloody knife in her hand was unbelievable. If this was a fictional story and that was part of the script it would likely be removed as too far fetched.

I did love when Dennis pointed out that the fiance was annoyed at what he thought were unfair and false allegations against Becky, but had no problem leveling false allegations against Linda's ex. Go Dennis!

And when one of the houswives says "I'm done" and stomps off out of camera range they are not done. Usually they will return to keep the argument going full steam.

And that "I'm done" means that whomever they deem to be done with is to follow them and beg them to return. Or better yet apologize for whatever they have done to cause the "done" person to become undone.

  15. I wasn't surprised that Isaiah was alive, because his parents didn't come across as people whose son was murdered. And certainly didn't come across as a mother who was still attached to her son by a symbolic umbilical cord, and a step father who introduced his step son to his eventual murderer.

Also the crime scene looked staged to me. If the driver's side door was open and Isaiah was stepping out, why would the glass be broken. The angles just looked wrong.

That said, OMFG. I was yelling in my head at the TV when John was talking about discussing killing his daughter with that psycho piece of shit. He is so lucky that while he was discussing it but before going to the police, she didn't go ahead and hire someone. Once again, OMFG.

I am surprised that the FBI didn't set up a sting where they had someone posing as the hit man and Valerie paying him off. Wouldn't they know that otherwise there is no evidence that she hired someone, and it is only her word against John's?

That said, she is a terrible actress - not a tear was shed in her performance when she was told Isaiah was murdered. However I don't blame Isaiah, his parents, John and his daughter for being afraid of Valerie.  Her instability (to put it mildly)  is in Pam Hupp territory.

  16. If I had just been scrolling past the reunion  pic of Emily, I would not have know it was her. Yikes. I have never understood why women think that having their boobs mostly uncovered and hanging out is a good look. It just makes her look like the dress is too small - again.

The best thing I can say about Gina's outfit is that she has resisted the temptation to artificially inflate her breasts. That said, the skimpy top is very ill fitting and does nothing for her.

Jen looks like she is wearing a bathing suit coverup.

Heather's dress might have been OK without the belt but as others have said the belt emphasizes her short waist. Is that supposed to be a frill of some kind a few inches from the bottom? If so it comes off as looking like a big hem to me.

Shannon is definitely the best dressed of the group, but it is a low bar.

  17. I was just coming here to say that as someone who is a year younger than Bruce Greenwood, I loved the scene between Randolph and Kit. I think Greenwood is a very handsome man, and looks damn good shirtless at 65. But then I have been a Greenwood fan for years, and he is the reason that I started watching the show. I am sure it is due to my age, but I would take a scene of a shirtless Greenwood over pretty much any other male cast member, other than maybe MJW.

I liked all of the storylines in tonight's episode. I used to like The Good Doctor more than The Resident, but for the last couple of years The Resident has been my fav over TGD.

Just out of curiosity, what was her take?

I almost need to watch it again, because there were so many good comments from all of the hosts. Two things I remember Sheryl taking about specifically, One was that as a stand up comic she is now afraid that someone may take exception to a joke she makes and storm the stage (to paraphrase). Kathy Griffin said the same thing the day after the assault. The fact that the academy did nothing when it happened, or even after, certainly does not look good. And the longer they take to give Smith some form(s) of punishment, the worse they look.

Sheryl also said that what bothers her is that everyone is talking about Will Smith, and no one is wondering how Chris Rock is doing. She if very bothered by that, as he is the one who was assaulted. Amanda pointed out that Chris has yet to make a statement, but it does not mean that people cannot express concern over how he is. I hope he is busy writing a ton of Will and Jada jokes for his upcoming tour, Apparently ticket sales have gone through the roof since Sunday night,
