  1. This is a very unfortunate trend and it's being used in too many shows now. Dark and murky isn't very appealing. Some LED TVs can get bright enough to maybe pick out more details but you lose some of its black depth. If you have a plasma or especially an OLED set (like my LG C7) with its deep black levels, the image can show some detail crush. I'll give this another week since a one hour show is easier to take but if this plot line doesn't pick up I'm pretty much out.
  2. Who do I speak to get the two hours of my life back that I wasted on this dreck tonight. This was almost unwatchable at some point. I came close to bailing during the interminable Framework nonsense last season but this has the potential to be worse.
  3. Speaking of Cyrus' new love toy, Dean Norris has been terrific in the role. He's an actor who is always working and is a plus for any director who casts him.
  4. Liv is now a monster just like Papa Pope but she's not nearly as effective. Too many loose ends and as others have said, she doesn't see the long game only the immediate issue. After last night, the only reasonable end to this series would have Liv locked up is super max federal prison or dead. Mellie has shown enough flashes of gumption that if Liv's homicidal behavior directly threatened her, she just might throw Liv under the bus. That's not the way that things seem to work in Shondaland so Liv will probably skate off into the Vermont sunset when the show ends.
  5. Nicely stated by a classy kid. A mother and daughter who, in the face of poor treatment by Coven, put integrity and self-respect above money and "fame"? This is a very rare occurrence on Dance Moms.
  6. After the entirely fabricated "Nationals" you have to wonder how and why Cheryl Burke agreed to get involved with this show. I doubt that Cheryl's career is in the doldrums and that she needed this nonsense to re-ignite it. I'm surprised that the director actually had camera shots of the empty auditorium. Like someone else said, Lifetime didn't even try to maintain the pretense that this was a real and big time competition. Hopefully, it's a sign that the network wants to wash it hands of the show, these tiresome girls, their mothers and Collins Avenue Entertainment.
  7. This tour is strictly young fan girl bait. Seriously these girls are not nearly good enough to pay money to see.
  8. Christie is one seriously disturbed person. She's a small, angry and bitter harpy and, hopefully, her ride on the gravy train will come to an end after the money grubbing tour finishes.
  9. Well that was some crowd watching "Nationals". The vast majority of the audience came dressed as empty seats. This sure sounded like the end of the line for the show.
  10. Yeah, it sure sounds like Asia can actually sing. Mackenzie, not so much.
  11. One the problems is that people like Cheryl, Aisha and Laurieann are used to doing real adult choreography and that doesn't seem to fly at these "competitions" if they actually are real. These so called judges appear to see nothing but boring, repetitive choreography for children. If Brynn leaves I hope that this is end of the minis and their demented mothers. What a bunch of shrews. After she reamed out the older kids' moms and from what the tease for next showed, why in God's name would Cheryl and Ryan want to have anything to do with this show. May it die a quick and quiet death. The latter ain't gonna happen.
  12. Yup and if, somehow, DM gets another season with these minis and their atrocious mothers as the core of the show, I suspect that there are many more like us who would say "no thanks". It's likely that the ratings will completely crater and you would have to wonder how long Lifetime would stick with it.
  13. Not a chance. The pros on DWTS are, for the most part, trained ballroom dancers who competed in high level national and international competitions for years before joining the show. There have been quite a few SYTYCD alums among DWTS's pros and its troupe. None of these ALDC girls have anywhere close to the drive, dedication, talent or training needed to succeed on either show. I thought that Kalani might have the goods but based on what she's shown recently, no way.
  14. Kendell has about as much of chance of fame via music videos as my pet cat. Actually I could post videos of him being his silly, crazy self and they would be far more entertaining than anything that Kendell could post.
  15. It's sad to see but it's obvious that Kalani has regressed over the past year. She does look "heavy" in her dancing now. Kendell is a complete drip and Nia is a better performer than she is a dancer. Some may disagree but I find the minis to be boring beyond belief and their mothers to be as, if not more, absurd than the original crew. I find the little ones' "confessionals" to be ridiculous. They are being fed these lines by the scumbag producers of this pitiful show who have a new set of tykes to abuse and profit from. If the show, next year, ends up being about them, I'm out. Brynn may be a good dancer but her mother stands every good chance of ruining her. There is something seriously wrong with Ashleigh. She may a more miserable example of the human species than Jill and that's saying a lot. Let's see what Cheryl can do with the older girls who are not close to the level that they should be at this point. Cheryl can be very nice but she can also be a hard ass as those who have watched DWTS know. She could lay the lumber on some her celeb partners when necessary. As someone previously stated, the older girls seemed to have no reaction to Aisha telling them what a dancer's life was really like. Kalani, maybe, showed a glimmer of understanding but the rest had blank stares. Maybe they should talk to Ryan about what a working dancer's career looks and feels like. She did well on SYTYCD and has done OK since but I'll bet that she has some horror stories that she can tell these girls.
  16. Liv is her father, right down to the over baked Shakespearean soliloquy that she delivered to Mellie. Blackmail, threatening the murder of a child? What next? Will Liv start looking for dinosaur fossils?
  17. The gap between the 18 year olds who audition for SYTYCD, let alone those who make it to the live shows and the ALDC kids is enormous. They are more talented and far better trained. Many of the kids who try for the show have had difficult childhoods and dance has been their escape. It's in their blood and its what they live to do. Compare that to the DM bunch who have latched onto a phantom fame train without the talent, dedication or work ethic make it real. These kids are delusional, mostly because their mothers are delusional x10. It's quite pathetic and sad. I'll bet that the DWTS show runners breathed a major sigh of relief when SYTYCD came to its senses, survived last year's kiddie fest and had a very good recent season. SYTYCD has been a significant farm system for DWTS with many of it's very talented dancers joining the troupe and then getting promoted to "Pro" ranks. Hopefully that will continue with a renewal of SYTYCD.
  18. A couple of thoughts: Was a local mortuary running a discount sale because several of these women look like they had their hair and makeup done there. Yolanda and Ashleigh are sociopaths so they are perfect for this train wreck of a show. Bless Aisha for finally letting these entitled little divas and their idiot mothers know what a professional dancer's life is really like. I love her lines about how they would be auditioning with a thousand other dancers most of whom didn't have a nickel to their names and that mommy wouldn't be there when they did. She could have thrown in better trained as well. It was especially delicious when she told them that dancers sometimes get a new routine with 30 minutes notice and have to get it done. Except for maybe Kalani, none of these girls have what it takes to withstand the rejections and rapid changes that dancers routinely face. Even Kalani may be slipping as well and Kira should really shut her yap when she's dealing with a well known and respected choreographer.
  19. Virginia Madson has always been and still is a terrific actress. She's got serious game and brings it to every role she plays.
  20. I really enjoyed episode. Even more than usual, James Spader dominated almost every scene with style and some good comic timing. Loved how Tom slid the suitcase out of sight after Lizzie told him that Red was papa. It looks like Red's rebuilding his criminal empire with the help of Lizzie and the FBI while they try to dodge the Washington suits is going to be fun.
  21. So Stacy thinks that her kid is the new Kalani? She's a therapist and she's seriously delusional.
  22. I stand corrected. You're absolutely right. Without professional supervision and oversight, it could have been too risky.
