  1. In case you miss it, this is Zola the gorilla at the Calgary Zoo, circa 2011: . . . and here is is at the Dallas Zoo. Obvious question: should we be concerned? Like, really concerned? What kills me is how he claps his hands at the start, like he's psyching himself up.

Tebow is in the Mets system. With their luck, they will need him sooner than later. And it's not like they can go to San Francisco every other week.
  3. Shouldn't an announcement have been made by now? I mean, I'm guessing the new person would be pressed into service in 2018, if not this Christmas. Male? Female? Given the sheer number of British actors playing iconic American comic book characters these days, how 'bout an American playing the Doctor? On an unrelated note, where is the nearest fallout shelter?
  4. Think of it this way, Goku . . . now Vegeta has murdered all five members of the Ginyu Force. And unlike Recoome, Jace and Burter, you didn't have to soften up Ginyu for him. Now they can coordinate epic poses in HFIL hell. Damn, Gohan looked gaunt. Also, I don't recall Freiza (never sure about the spelling) killing everybody except Koala Alien Sorbet in the movie. It really fits the character, doesn't it?
  5. I'll have to rewatch the last two episodes. Note to self: If I am a bad guy, and I am torturing the everloving FUCK out of somebody . . . note any changes in hair color. "Jason" failed to do that, and now Kaneki is gonna eat him. Also: listen for full versions of the opening theme song.
  6. "Okay. Are we ready for a rollicki-" "Let me guess. Bill's new friend is The Master (Simms recipe), and Bill becomes a Cyberman. Is there anything else?" "Ummmmmmm . . . " I didn't go through spoiler sites, but I was able to see this coming. I mean, next week like probably be an epic mindfuck at worst, but this episode felt obvious. Also, part of me thinks that this is another simulation, because the Doctor wouldn't leave his friends with Missy. Well, not Bill, anyway. Nardole would be lucky, since he is more or less a Cyberman. I'm aware that there was a Fifth Doctor audio -- "Spare Parts" -- that was supposed to be the origin of the Cyberman. I know that was pre-2005, though, but I'm curious if this story bumps that one off canon. About time we had a meeting of Masters, though I know the other actors are either deceased, forgotten, or Eric Roberts. I liked reading a fan-made comic where the four known Masters get messed with by the Celestial Toymaker. ETA: Am I a bad person for wanting a Cyber-ized Bill to have her hair sticking out of the headpiece?
  7. Heads up: Toonami will be running an Attack on Titan marathon next week. If you haven't watched any of the second season, that's a good way to catch up.
  8. This is not an ugly dog. I mean, Martha has been through some shit, but she doesn't look as fucked-over as her older, smaller, homelier rivals. I will say that if a larger breed has to win, it would be the Neapolitan Mastiff. Those guys are 20 percent jowl meat.
  9. 1. Spectrum has several RW1 episodes on demand. 2. I found this Kickstarter from Norman. Just figured you should know.

Me: Hey, a Facebook friend is happy that her Royals won. Lets see what happened. ESPN: Asrubal Cabraera Isn't Happy Playing 2B! Demands Trade!! Me: Of course. They're wailing on the Giants, and there's still bad mojo. Say, that reminds me . . . Mets.com: Asdrubal Cabrara Bobblehead Doll Night: July 1!!! Me: Seriously, why the fuck do they even do player-based promotions?!?
  11. She might just be catering to her fans. I mean, Mark is probably not that far from his 1995 self, but I'd still put him at a disadvantage due to his age.

For me, it was 1 p.m. on WWOR, before the Mets game. I'm sure I can get the music played during the end credits somewhere. ETA: Any personal memories from TWIB? Here's mine: I went to Ron Darling's last game as a Met. They lost, and the sole bright spot was Mackey Sasser, the catcher who had the "yips" behind the plate. The Mets moved him to right field that day. Ron had a baserunner to start, then balked him to second. The next batter hit it to right, and Mackey not only made a great grab, he doubled the runner off at second. Next guy up hit it to the wall, and Mackey lept to make the catch. The following week, I was waiting to see Mackey make the "Top 5" highlights. He didn't, and I was pissed . . . until they immediately ran Mackey's inning after that, complete with Rick Cerrone bowing to him in the dugout.
  13. Beth is posting in the Challenge group I visit on Facebook. Right now, I'm in TARCon Mode . . . if I don't like somebody, I don't engage that person. I didn't give Rob Mariano, Jonathan Baker, or any other TAR villain a piece of my mind, and I'm not going to cause an online ruckus. I have said a lot of bad stuff about her, and I feel like I should stand by all of that, but I'm not going to be that kind of hater. That said, somebody posted a picture and stats on Veronica, and Beth chimed in with this: "I would crush Veronica and I'm Older!" Even if she's playing the part of an instigator and has zero interest of coming back because she has a life . . . no. No. If a mission doesn't come down to trying to out-tug Beth, she loses. She is a huge weight . . . and it's not a body mass thing. Nicole and Laurel can engage in a three-way reverse tug-of-war with Beth, and they could join forces to win, but it would take a long time because she just wore down on people's souls at her "peak." Also, somebody asked Beth to "please verbally drag camila." That would be a moment where I would pity Beth. She's a bitch, but Camila is fucking crazy. On a more positive note, here's Darrell's son chilling in Challenge gear. ETA: This just in from Beth: "it was weak! [Veronica] couldn't handle my words. She's bat shit cray cray...I would never ever physically hurt anyone. If someone is a bully to me, I will verbally destroy them..." Gaaaaaah. "Bad Beth & Beyond," indeed.

Turned it back on. Mets had the bases loaded, and the batter popped up weakly. I'll probably see the clip tomorrow. Seriously, what is the proper protocol in a situation like that? I'm thinking turn your back to the field while holding the baby and brace for impact. I think a dad might get love on the sports shows for that. Random Thought: Does anybody else miss This Week In Baseball? I should see if I can see old clips online. I used to watch ESPN Classic for that.

Flipped to SNY. Why the fuck do I do that?!? Blevins just walked three straight Dodgers, forcing in two runs. Good night, guys. Was Puig timed last night? When SNY ran the Bartolo game, I actually clocked him at 31 seconds. Of course, he had a lot of mass to push around the bases.

Mets were not happy with Yasiel Puig last night. And the teams play one more time. This isn't gonna end well. "In case you're just joining us, Yasiel Puig has hit his third home run, and he is taking longer to run the bases than Bartolo Colon." "In Puig's defense, doing Ozzie Smith-style cartwheels onto each base does take some time." "The Mets were angry by him diving at every base after his second home run, so they tried to bean him. Hence, the third home run." "You can see Terry Collins in the dugout. He honestly believes that the bat he's holding is a sword, and he is trying so hard to disembowel himself." "Just got a tweet from Vin Scully. 'Serves those fuckers right. I never liked them. Dodgers 4ever New York's team.' Wow, he knows what Twitter is. Good for him."
  17. Apparently, Team Guy was out on a mission. He and Lee could probably clear up the mess quicker than Naruto with his new mojo, but they're not the main protagonists. Still, it would be funny if one of the Pains accidentally got Lee drunk. Nice to see family members for the first time since the end of Orochimaru's invasion arc in the original series. I'm thinking Shino and his family need sunglasses because they had hordes of insects where their eyes should be. On a cute note, I like Akamaru marking (a) Pain.
  18. I think the number doubled last year . . . from four in ANW to eight after TNW1. I might be wrong. Always fun to see Matt and Akbar freak the freak out, even though women climbing the wall isn't as mindblowing these days. ETA while I'm thinking about it: should Ring of Fire make it into the rotation on ANW? I know that it would be less stressful for competitors even in Las Vegas with the countdown, but it's still a bitch of an obstacle. If Flip falters this year, it'll be because he merely thought about it. Ring of Fire probably haunts him worse than that awful facial hair.
  19. Well, John did stick his head in the lion's cage. Since he's on HBO, I wouldn't blame him if he dropped trou and invited future litigants to taste his salty nuts. And then a giant squirrel would try to eat them, but for completely different reasons.
  20. Funny115: Blood vs. Water gang keeps throwing Probst's idol clues into the fire. Apparently, Mario is burnt out on hidden idols like most of us are, especially after what happened with Cirie. Favorite quote: "I mean, Colton even quits because players playing against their loved ones is just way too intense and way too stressful. And if Colton leaving isn't a sign of a fantastic social experiment, I don't know what is."
  21. @theredhead77 . . . truth? A little bit. At this point, I just mutter "typical" under my (figurative) breath because I feel that has happened a lot to me over the years. I know it wasn't personal, so I'm not calling her bad names anywhere. It just sucks for me to try and be optimistic, only for the proverbial other shoe to drop.
  22. I hate myself for living in a bubble. Trevor showed that tape . .. holy fuck. At this point, if Trevor bails out by year's end for burnout, I wouldn't be that shocked. For Jon, the grind and other stuff got to him, but it took a decade and a half for that to engulf him. Trevor isn't new to America and the unbelievably shitty things that happen, but there has to be a point where he ends up throwing the front office keys towards Roy and Desi, telling them to figure it out for themselves. Does Viacom own the company that puts out DJ Khalid's album? I hope not, because then the fantasy sequence with him and Trevor would be in poor taste, especially after Trevor's vent session. It was cute, though.
  23. If I wanted a gay BMPer that attended an Ivy League school, I'd call Justin from RW8 first. I never cared much about Evelyn, especially when he joined Johnny's team after he gave her so much shit during The Island. Also disappointing . . . no Coral interviewing about how Mike looked like he saw a naked woman when he figured out the Hanoi Tower puzzle. On Facebook, some people are disappointed that Landon didn't get any props. He did win three Challenges, and he came one Duel short of completing a fourth.
  24. Idle thought . . . I keep comparing Wes to Wil E. Coyote. Would that make CT the Tasmanian Devil? Or is that more about Abram?
