Holy blindsides! I would have bet everything LJ was going to win this. Now I have no idea where this is going. Love Tasha. And glad Kass lost the reward challenge again.
-
It's more than a few miles but I guess the distance depends on where they are on LI and where he rowed to in CT. What is the name of the town? It begins with an S but I can't find anything on a map. Never mind, I found it. Setauket was around Port Jefferson. Directly across the Sound is the Fairfield/Bridgeport area. It's 17 miles. That's one hell of a trip by row boat. And there is no way anyone could see petticoats on the clothesline from across the water.

The synopses for epis 3 and 4 don't mention anything about Sansa so it looks like we'll have to wait till at least epi 5 to see how her flight plays out. I certainly hope we don't have to wait till epi 7 (Mockingbird). Can anyone confirm if they've heard anything about Sansa's storyline?

I'm still pretty confused about what's going on so I think I need to watch the On Demand extras to sort things out. For the life of me I couldn't remember where I'd seen Jamie Bell before so I had to laugh when I checked imdb and saw he was Billy Elliot. Of course. Some of the things that confused me: Abraham rowed across Long Island Sound? Twice? Who is the other bearded guy (that hangs out with cute blue coat)? Is he a good guy or a British spy? Who is Anna signaling with the petticoats? Who is in New Jersey? Why was Dad pleased that Abe confessed to lying about the hidden money? Where did all the cabbages come from if half were bug infested and half smuggled to Conn? Just for starters. I really like the concept of this show. It could be fascinating to see how the spy network worked once all the pieces are in place. (In contrast to The Americans it will be nice to see the protagonists as good guys.) I remember the name Major (John?) Andre, and Rogers (big bearded guy) sounds familiar. I'll be spending some time on wikipedia today I think.

Tywin protecting Tommen is a great direction detail that I didn't notice. Awesome.

It was not the same necklace.

On rewatch it's fascinating to see all the reaction shots during the entertainment and Tyrion's humiliation. Cercei is so insufferably smug. When you know what to look for it's apparent that Olenna does tug a stone from Sansa's necklace. But since we never see her within arms distance of the cup it's still not absolutely clear that this has anything to do with Joff's poisoning.
-
I think there are a couple cuckoos in the unsullied nest. Someone is a bit too insistent that Olenna did it and is furnishing screencaps. At least no one has concluded that Littlefinger has his little fingers in the plot.

Just goes to show the state of education in the US. Most of these people didn't know 1) Roman numerals, 2) the Eternal city, or 3) Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. Frustrating. (That model/actor really looked like Peck!) Loved both detour challenges. The little remote control chariots dragging the charioteers were hilarious and I loved how the gladiators all put on a performance. Bugs me that nearly all the racers needed help with the roadblock. At least the Afghanimals helped both the Trotters and John & Jess, so they were on an equal footing.

Television Vs. Book: Why'd They Make [Spoiler] Such A [Spoiler]?
Haleth replied to yellowfred's topic in Game Of Thrones
Naw, she will undoubtedly be a surprise witness. The big question will be whether Tywin or Tyrion kills her. I hope Stannis can redeem himself as a character when he comes riding in like the cavalry at the Wall. -
I think when the Unsullied look back they will realize that the whole scene of Olenna rejecting the necklaces was a big clue to who killed Joff. Not that Sansa's necklace was one of the rejected ones, but that scene and then Olenna fussing with Sansa's hair should add up Olenna + jewelry = one dead tyrant. About Littlefinger's involvement, I'd assumed he was the one to actually acquire the poison for Olenna with Sansa as the mule. I'm glad the writers didn't have Joff clawing at his throat to the point it was bloody. It was gruesome enough as is. Loras and Oberyn should not hook up. Their families hate each other. Although with Willas not in the show maybe the families' enmity will not be included. Undoubtedly Shae was taken off the boat or never got on. I was disappointed one of the dwarves wasn't revealed to be a woman. So no Penny in the future? Looking forward to seeing Dinklage handle his storyline the rest of this season.

Tommen was sitting between Cercei and Tyrion.

Thank you, Jack Gleeson. Well done. I thought it looked like a stone was missing from Sansa's left side, near where Olenna was touching her hair. Yeah, she must have dropped it in when Joff cut the pie. The old lady is pretty quick! I cringed when Joff destroyed that rare book.

Strudel-Boy and Cawowine: Irritating Kids in Commercials
Haleth replied to OriginalCyn's topic in Commercials
It's hard to top some of these kids, but Cawowine is syptomatic of a true advertising nightmare... business owners who use their own kids (or grandkids) in ads, especially local ads where the kids cannot act to save their lives. Monotone reading of lines is not going to bring in business. People, your kids (or grandkids) are not nearly as adorable as you think they are. -
Did you all notice that Lagertha was the only woman who didn't look away? She rocks. I know there isn't much verified info on Ragnar, but how old was he supposed to have been when he was killed? The boys are still little kids, there could be plenty of story left to tell. He still has another marriage on the horizon too. I checked up on Aethelwulf since I knew he was father of Alfred the Great, but Judith was not Aethelwulf's first wife nor Alfred's mom. It was strange for Ecbert to talk about allying with Aelle since their kingdoms were so far apart... until oh yeah, wanna split up Mercia while we're at it?

Season 4: Little Questions That Don't Fit Anywhere Else.
Haleth replied to joliefaire's topic in Game Of Thrones
I hope this isn't off topic, but I'm looking for some reading material to take with me while traveling. Is anyone familiar with Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastards series? Is it something a GRRM and JRRT fan would enjoy? Thanks! -
Morgan: "I am very different from what people originally think of me. And I think that people look at me and get a first impression so like, hmm, she's just a stuck up brat. But that's not who I am." Sorry, Morgan. Your stint on reality tv showed that's exactly who you are. So funny that she was flipping through the book Wicked while her voiceover spoke of what a nice person she really is.

Fantastic! Can't wait for the internet to blow up Sun night. <claps with glee>

What are there, a couple episodes left? I need the Russians to screw something up. I was rooting for Philip to fail and not get whatever info that thing he plugged in was getting. (Didn't understand the whole "bug the interwebs" plot.) Something needs to go majorly wrong by the end of the season. I'd reaaaally like to find out that Oleg is working for the Americans or maybe Larick (sp?) is conning Phil & Elizabeth. The Russians are way too competent.

You are confused. Oberyn's sister was married to and had children with Rhaegar, Dany's brother.
-
Bingo. I agree she's counting on her ability to communicate to get her the win. What she's forgetting though is that this won't be an impartial jury; it will be full of people who are pissed off at her and not open to whatever defense she lays out for herself. They will get over it? As evidenced by Spencer's so very sincere "apology?" She's living in as big a fantasy world as Morgan.
-
Yeah, I'm confused about the idol. He said it was a normal idol, right? No special powers?
-
Man, I wish Spencer and Tasha would make it to the end, but I don't know how that could happen. I'm still mad at Kass but I'm glad they booted that entitled princess from the game. That's two jury members who would vote for anyone but Kass.
