Yes I recognized the song also and told my husband it was from the Lost Boys. I was singing the saxophone part (that was absent from this version).

Too writer heavy with the monologues. And I just can’t buy the Dr was that incompetent. But I guess they have to have a contrived plot that older white males are not as competent as young women. How old is Bailey supposed to be? I know she said 40’s so I figured she is closer to the age she is in real life.

Most heavy handed propaganda episode ever.

I thought the talk with Tuck was completely contrived for a political agenda. As was the whole episode. It wasn’t heartfelt.

I didn’t care too much for the heavy handed political issues. Cops, religion etc....

Interesting. I’ve known several people who have moved here from Canada who were ecstatic to find how much more money they had in there paycheck. In Canada half of that went to pay for healthcare. One of them told me she sat in the ER while living in Canada for 8 hours with flu symptoms and was never able to see a dr. Another one who had to wait 6 months for a surgery. So I guess it’s all personal experience. I thought it was a good episode but does anyone ever get a diagnosis that is correct the first time?

I’m sure he dies saving the dog. I loved Audio. He looked like a boxer mix and I LOVE boxers.

The dialogue is bad and so is the acting. I was annoyed by the nurse telling Abby to call Buck. It’s so cliche to have that matchmaker character to push some romance with very little reason. (Assuming she is legit and not a scammer like mention above). I don’t even think Angela Bassett is that good of an actress in this.

Am I the only one that thought Lady Bird was just average? I don’t get the hype. -

A Tale of Two Coreys (Lifetime) - General Discussion
Laurie4H replied to Robert Lynch's topic in TV Movies
I thought it was decent for a Lifetime movie and the casting of them as teen and adults was pretty spot on although the young Corey Feldman kind of looked more like a young John Cusack. Do I really believe this was completely accurate, probably not, but entertaining enough considering I was a fan at the time. (I was 12 and 13 during The Lost Boys and License to Drive). -
I don’t know how anyone could watch this after the whole driving through traffic with his sirens on to have sex in the fire truck. We turned it off after that. I’m no prude but it was completely disrespectful to first responders. They had to go there in the first 10 minutes of a pilot? Is that what it takes to get people to watch shows these days? Hollywood is so up in arms about woman being disrespect but then put in scenes like this? I’m all for a good romantic/sex scene but come on.

I don’t think she was that overweight as a teenager. The actress playing her didn’t seem that heavy. Especially compared to now. I just didn’t feel all that emotional in this episode because I just feel Kate is all about herself. Like she feels nobody else goes through anything remotely close to what she has. Toby was ok this episode but his rant to the Fed Ex guy was just not something people would do in real life. People don’t speak in long monologues about their lives to strangers.

S14.E07: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story
Laurie4H replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Grey's Anatomy
I guess I don’t like the patient banter when they have life threatening injuries yet they are arguing back and forth with each other. So a lot of it didn’t work for me. And Greys (and other tv and movies) need to try a new hook up technique than the cliche move of the woman jumping up and wrapping their legs around the man. It’s so overdone. Also the right after sex cliche scenes when they both fall back out of breath. I’m sure there are some original romantic, erotic, or raunchy ideas they can think of. -
I think part of the reason this show is so good is because the cast is great. Don’t know if it’s just pure luck or they audition many actors to get the chemistry right....but they are all likable. Plus the dialogue is real for the most part. It’s isnt contrived....like when you can tell it’s the writers trying to be overly witty. It’s natural.

Why does Kate always have to mention she is 37? An she says she is having a geriatric pregnancy? Weight wise it’s not healthy but these days 37 is not that old go have a child.

It’s hard to blame the moms when you don’t know what type of contract they signed. Some of them might be stuck regardless of the damage it does to their kids. The ones they leave might have a different contract timelines.

I don’t know how Jack could be out their shoveling with a fever. Even with Tylenol you would still be weak. I wonder if Kate will have the baby or will there by complications.

I agree and they can definitely get fat easily if they are eating too much junk and should be watching their weight especially as dancers. I just meant during this dance I thought they all looked like their figures were pretty lean not flabby....and in the dance world some girls go to extremes to loose weight if they are told one time they look flabby or fat.
-
I didn’t like the dance but I don’t think they looked flabby. Generally speaking, calling healthy girls flabby is one reason they become anorexic. I don’t think Brynn is a great dancer. She is stiff and lanky and just looks prepubescent as she dances. One of the reason this scripted show had her go back to the ALDC is probably because she would never fit in doing the burlesque dance (not that she missed out on anything though).

Can’t stand the girlfriend. I just hate female characters that have witty annoying comebacks to everything. “There dialogue in bed was so “writer trying to be clever”. So unnatural. If this was a show about relationships I wouldn’t mind the sex scenes at all but it’s so HBO to throw them in there when it doesn’t have much to do with the plot.

On a shallow note, I personally don’t think Maggie is attractive at all, and Jackson is, so speaking by a physical stand point, I just can’t find any reason he would be into her. With April and Stephanie it was more realistic.
-
Is it common that a straight woman would go this route? I’ve never experienced any of this in real life but seems pretty normal on this show. And a Trump dig, when Amelia said she wish she didn’t know who the president is....Enough is enough. Regardless who you support....Hollywood needs to move on. It’s unoriginal and people are sick of it.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - General Discussion
Laurie4H replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Curb Your Enthusiasm
Good episode. I could do without the masturbation stuff though. Just kind of a cheap laugh. The pickle fight in the kitchen was hilarious. “It hides the jew”. In regards to Larry’s disguise had me laughing. Larry’s reaction to the tongs falling on the floor and her putting them back on the table was so predictable but still hilarious. -
So Karina had a new cell phone hours after being mugged?
