This. The nepotism with this guy is so frustrating, he's terrible! It's incredibly frustrating to actually see Mika's shite from yesterday vindicated regarding Pierson's pick to lead the agency. I do not like it when that women is actually prescient. Time and time again, Homeland Security seems to not work, there was stove piping before but now there is complete and utter mismanagement - and seems like stove piping still occurs. P.S. I thought we were back to three full hours with this show? What happened to that? Not enough news?

Sigh, she's an idiot, but I know this may shock, laughs... Douchey's question about checking temps upon arrival for those folks traveling here, isn't a bad idea. Party of one over here. (and no, I'm not panicked, but it is a somewhat logical idea since travel does take quite a bit of time from these countries.) Laughs, at least she didn't excoriate all vaccinations! ;)

@Lemons - I don't disagree with you - but generally speaking in my experience very few highly competitive dancers seek a career in dance (they burn out on it), though placing high in National FDC voting does mean something in that arena. And you don't have to sell me either, I pulled my kid out of a highly competitive studio (though one where one of her cohorts went on to Julliard) at 11 and opted for a much more ballet focused studio where most of the dancers do go on to major or minor in dance at a college level. For example, my kid's initial placement was at the highest level ballet classes for a state flagship BFA and a private liberal arts college BFA program.

Sigh... Season 5? In10sity is a real competition but the ones where Dance Moms film are all invitationals, specifically for taping. I was not happy seeing Allison Holker stuck doing that with Maddie at all, that said, clearly it's made it deep into current pop culture.

Apparently here -Studio 19. Top 3 in the FDC would be evidence of being a pretty damned good studio.

This makes me so happy! Yay, Chloe is FREE! And doing cool stuff that proves she's a great little dancer as well, in the real dance world.

The Jeopardy thing, I actually howled when that talk went dirty. Can you imagine Bitsy with that subject? It was really stupid of Jeopardy to put that category up - so sexist!

This right here, which is why I completely understood Dr. Holly's fury.

They did give the first two at Emory something experimental from Canada that seemed to spur their recovery but that was all they had of it and it will be another six months before more is ready. Then the doctor that recovered donated blood for the doctor in Nebraska, but that only worked because they were the same blood type - so Nicolle vastly exaggerated the situation. But then again, Frontline, this ain't. Eh, this Christie stuff is all the wolf-in-sheep's clothing that troubles me about him - because the rest of the panel nodded in agreement.

Frozen? Tinkerbell? All of the above? laughs When my daughter was very little she would go in obsessive streaks with Disney and other children's movies, back in the day I could quote them all verbatim. I think a lot of us went through that stage with our little ones.

Um, you mean like Nicolle's old show Morning Joe where Mika suggested that might be the cause this morning? ...and Nicolle is the troublesome Republican. ;) Me too, Ro sure does love her some Britney, always has, and the visual of Ro in that situation was hilarious. As to RosieP's remarks about Latinos in the military, I feel like it was context - and perhaps? (this may be controversial) The fence hopper, was a Latino veteran with PTSD - so maybe there is some sensitivity around that as well... ??? I'm probably over thinking this, but I also think the shooter from 2011 was a Latino male.

This, a million times. :( Thank you for your service, Heather.

...and I'm still very much appreciating the 100% increase in intelligence enough that I just can't nitpick. I thought it was hilarious yesterday when Nicolle teased about the Wal-Mart number that it might be a Republican thing. She's poking lots of people in the eye with it, and that makes it funny to me. Sure, they're still missing a few facts in some of the discussions, but the quality of the discussion overall is so much better, that I don't mind. eta: that was 500% and I meant to switch it to 1000% but sigh, ended up with 100%, my bad!

Eh, something probably happened and they were irritated with each other and let off some steam, shit happens. The whole thing was addressed by Whoopi this morning in a Way Too Early interview with Thomas Roberts. She's much more pissed about the chair and table situation. :P

I'm from Minnesota, I'm very familiar with the situation with Al Franken. I'm also fully cognizant of the Republican plan to filibuster him and obstruct everything that he did, and the little meeting the night of his inauguration, I also remember Obama breaking all his promises about how he would conduct things with his healthcare plan. Nicolle does often make the implication that there was a filibuster proof Senate and ignores all the obstruction that occurred, if I had to pick one thing that annoys me the most about her, it is that. I'm actually to the left of Obama and I'm sorry, I can't be an apologist for him. That said, I can appreciate different points of view, especially when they aren't rabid and ill-informed a la Bitsy. I think Nicolle did step in it a bit, but I think Ro was pretty nasty in the way she responded, there was a much nicer way to explain the artistic temperament and how it lends itself or is often touched by mental health issues (depression, bipolar).

You know what's odd about that review? The Toronto Star is said to be the most liberal paper! So it's not the paper's editorial position.
-
Oh My Goodness! That's really bad, and running for POTUS? Bottom line? The View changes are like night and day and I'm actually watching it instead of blowing it off.
-
@shok, we'll have to agree to disagree. :) (I'm quite aware of Republican obstructionism, I'm also aware that Obama reached across far too often and far too long when he actually had the House and the Senate.)
-
A couple of other things about Nicolle, I thought it was cute the way she fan-girled about the talent of Rosie's Kids and admitted that her husband is a Musical Theatre geek. And I just keep considering that if we have to have a "republican slot" I'm grateful to have her over just about anyone else we could have gotten and by all that's holy, we didn't get S.E. Cupp!
-
I can't go back and listen to that crap - did she actually say Black Filipinos? Rosie P is Puerto Rican! More dumbness from the stupid.
-
See, I just don't think she was that bad on Morning Joe - she loved to poke at Obama with previous Republican Talking Points when he actually was messing up - that's her shtick. It's not that I agree with her or anything, but at least it comes from an informed place and isn't Teapublican. And it's certainly not the dumb-assed crap that Bitsy used to spew. She was awful on Maher because her shtick didn't work there, she got torn to pieces, which was highly entertaining! On Maddow, I think she always did well, because she didn't try to pull those shenanigans with Rachel. If I had to guess, she's actually just right of the unicorn like Rockefeller Republicans (they have now vanished of course with the advent of the Teapublicans), which is how she ended up working for Bush and McCain - that Bush was rolled by the Neocons is another conversation of course. I think, that there is a general impression that Christie is a fiscal conservative and a moderate on social issues, which couldn't be further from the truth, but it's out there... plus he's a damn bully to boot!
-
I'll be the contrarian and say that I don't find Nicolle rabid or vicious. Everyday, I find it harder to defend Obama and I'm a dyed in the wool liberal. Climate change and doing something about it, is something that Obama collapsed on in his first or second year in office. That's not to say that the anti-science Teapublicans aren't full of shit on the subject, but it's a fact nevertheless. This is textbook Wallace, and I can see how it would bug the shit out of someone, but I find there is generally a grain of truth in much of what she says, imho, anyways. Ro's honesty about how she pondered about Christie's choice of the lap band over newer methods didn't bother me a bit either. And I thought it was great that they broke the 4th wall and invited him onto the show. I can't stand him, think he is a "wolf in sheep's clothing" and full of shit with his so-called "moderate" views, also an utter failure as the governor of New Jersey, (jobs down, bond rating down down down, questionable ethics) but a lot of people find him a plausible candidate, so yeah, have him on!

Nods, honestly misogynistic and pathetic.

B is for BETTER. Dumb ass, ISIS just puts the blacks and native americans on the front lines.

No me neither, I just don't think it rises to the level of slut shaming, if that makes sense? Now the missing VA girl tut-tutting absolutely does!
