  1. Wow. Lost my post. I'm trying to post this to see if it works. Much more simply put, I felt the partying bar scenes were appropriate for both what Yorkie would be looking for (extremely sheltered life up to her accident, and for Kelly for the need to party and forget. That's why the time jumps and it always being a bar scene didn't bother me. This was just where they were when they started falling in love. Kelly's reason for not wanting to stay in SJ, at first, totally made sense to me. I also thought they did a good job of showing her changing her mind as her body was consumed by cancer. She did say, I forgot her exact words, while looking out at the water (?) near her end that she wanted to see, in a sense, what comes next. I loved this episode. It will be one of my favorite short stories for a long time. The heart has so many ways to find love. Forgive me if my other post shows up. I'm not sure if this one will. eeeee
  2. This was an especially bad episode. I never pick SVU apart while I'm watching it, but this episode had me rolling my eyes until they hurt. You don't have someone pick a person out by showing them just a picture of the suspect - even on TV, right? Rollins was so totally wrong with the kid. Barba divining right there in court the mother's reason for saying she didn't hear the bad guys voice in her house. Maybe I'm just too tired tonight. Joe Biden sure looked good, though. Oh, and I also found myself wondering how much money Mariska makes every time she gives that worried look in court. Hey, I love SVU. Been a fan since the beginning and will watch till one us puts an end to it. Mariska, you deserve all they pay you and more. Solid as a rock.
  3. I'll help you, SimoneS! I'll be tuning in just to watch Tomas. I'm hoping this show gets a good story going because it's at least not as cookie cutter as a lot of stuff on Network TV. I might mean that the casting looks good. I know the Exorcist story is not all that original. They can just follow Father Tomas around and I will be fine. So far, I like all the characters and, like I said, actors. Also, that was some decent special effects on the sister in the attic. And I was surprised that it was the younger sister. I was also one of the few fans that loved the short lived Damien. It's easier watching these shows when you are a non-believer. I don't think I could watch them if I believed in angels and demons. Well, I know I can't. I didn't see the original movie "Exorcist" until years after it was released. Some of my younger years were a bit religious. Somewhere along the way I lost all that. Whew!
  4. First off, I feel truly sorry for Kim Dickens. She does have that kind of face that stays a bit frozen, but what they are doing to her in this show is ridiculous. Here's my crazy theory. Fear The Walking Dead has absolutely nothing to offer as a TV show in the way it is written. The writing, plotting, hell, the whole idea of the show is lacking in every category. Sooo, I feel that the writers have to come up with some kind of "draahhma" ( you would think fighting off zombies might give them some ideas ) so they keep throwing Madison back into "I'll let everybody, including my daughter, die if that's what it takes to get my beloved son back. You can understand a mother feeling this way about a child that has been so obviously lost long before the world collapsed. But, it appears the writers are just using this plot device over and over because they literally don't have anything else to offer. We need a hero to root for while watching the end of the world. He or she can be a flawed hero, (like quite a few in the other show) but we can't constantly see selfish stupidity. If they are wanting Madison (Kim Dickens) to take the lead in this, well, this is the third season, right? What are they waiting for? If they want it to be Alicia or Strand or...please NO! not ratty hair, please..not ratty hair..well, then start writing someone we don't have to yell at the screen from sheer dumbfoundedness (not a word, but it works :) ) every week. I wanted to agree with so many things posted up thread. Too many actually to go into now. Uh, why are we watching this stuff? Why can't I simply not watch? Maybe I'll see how they end this season and try to get professional help if I think I can take another one.
  5. I am really sorry I posted the Bruce McGill comment. It was just on my mind and I have told you I'm old, haven't I? Still, I should have waited a few days at the very least. I was very upset when I first read about it and then I told myself that I loved Korsak and if I could get over Angie Harmon's politlcs, I could get over it with Bruce McGill. Well, maybe not so much until we see how the...oh nevermind. I'll miss everyone on Rizzoli and Isles! viva la difference uh maybe
  6. Wow. It's really over. Thanks, Rizzoli & Isles, for the great light entertainment when light entertainment was needed. It's true that I never cared much (at all) about the plots, but the joy of watching Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander was more than worth it. I'm pretty darn old and it's still a big deal for me to watch a show that let's two female leads have this wonderful relationship to the point where you could easily imagine subtext being something much more. Either way, lovers or friends, it was so nice to see them play off each other for a few weeks a year. I just realized I don't know the real names of any other main characters except Lorraine Bracco. Oh, and Bruce McGill. ( he's doing all those Trump voice overs....eh to each his own..no biggie.) Another thing I'm going to miss horribly is that little Irish jig on the opening. I don't know the name of it, but I always seemed to feel better after hearing that song. ::sniff::
  7. Jones is the one who got me hooked on this show. But, this season has been so fantastic that I really didn't miss her in this episode. I'm not sure I could handle it if she is definitely not coming back, though. Since we just saw everyone we care about minus Cassie, Jennifer and Cole die, I'm pretty sure there has to be some kind of reset. I think I was shaking a little bit in the last ten minutes or so. Long week ahead.
  8. All I can say is that it must be fun as heck to write for this show. No rules, I tell you, NO RULES!!
  9. All I can say is, "Damn! How deliciously awful!" I had been in a terrible, terrible mood and then I watched Zoo. My face smiled. I liked every stupid, nonsensical, over the top, under the lowest bar, pure joy of fantastic garbage...minute of it. The only quibble I had was when the mutated man was running around the airplane. Can't we just stick with mutated animals other than humans? Guess they have to fill out another season that certainly wasn't needed. Still, I'm glad it's here. This is one to watch to see all the spaghetti on the wall.
  10. Yes. Yes. I cried! I admit it. All that dying alone stuff and that fact that love, kindness and helping others can keep you from truly dying at all....::sniff:: It was so moving when Root/Machine was telling how she has watched everyone die and that she really didn't know anything about anyone until their very last moment. I do think the young boy she kept going back to was a young Reese. But, I didn't see the first year or so of POI, so I don't know the backstory on Reese. But she touched his shoulder the same way she did with Reese on the roof right before his last moment. I guess we are to assume that TM finally did beat Samaritan at the satellite and did make "her" way back to power up again. When Shaw answered the phone booth phone at the very end, I just took it that TM was back and that it still had Root's voice. I have no idea if they meant to imply that the game was on once again. I'm still in shock from a surprise ending on another show I LOVED. This ending felt very good. Thanks to all involved both in front and behind the cameras.
  11. I feel so stupid. Had no idea the series was ending. This was a first for me. A total surprise! What's really sad about it is that these last two eps definitely felt like they were rushed or simply not thought out all that well. Maybe it was more like, uh, we've got to tie this up one way or the other, so let's just give everyone a quick ending. If it makes sense, great. If not, we tried and it was fun ya'll. But, I'm not really angry about the ending - just sad and bit disappointed. I will miss all of these characters. And I will admit, I was so curious about where they would have gone with the "Lily" storyline. Makes me wonder why they were so convinced the show would not be renewed. Hmm. Oh well, it's all over now.
  12. Hmmm, maybe TPTB thought they were not going to be renewed. This episode did feel a bit different to me from all the eps before. It had a rushed, let's tie this up in the neatest bow we can, feel to it. I also started watching this because they were messing with the time on Bates Motel and I didn't want to miss any of "my most favorite show!". Funny thing is, that I got hooked on Damien from the first ep. I do think it was, ah, Bradley James? as Damien. I wanted to post every week about how I was surprised at how well made this take on "The Omen" franchise turned out. There was one ep that was actually scary as heck to me and I am not a believer in the anti-christ. But, it was a good ending if the show is canceled.
  13. Exactly! Nestor Carbonell did an amazing job at the very end of the episode. When Norman is walking down the stairs of the psych hospital, the camera is showing the back of his head all the way down. The doctor and Norma are spaced apart. For the first time since this show started, I absolutely felt the "Psycho" vibe. Norman is now the Norman of the movie "Psycho" and it was a brilliant bit of directing that gave me goose bumps. To me, Nestor with that shot and the one Sigmaforce86 mentioned above with Norma and Norman coming up to, what for me, hasn't really been that creepy of a house, to now it being this terrible, inevitable house of doom. Nestor Carbonell did a fantastic job of paying a great homage to Alfred Hitchcock in those last two scenes. Oh, and the rest of episode was great too. Damn, though..those last two scenes.
  14. Forgive me. I'm an imposter. I don't watch Blacklist. I tried, but I guess I didn't care for Lizzie or Tom. Since I live with someone who claims this is their favorite show, I hear bits and pieces about what's going on. I made a joke last week when Lizzie was in dire shape by yelling out "Kill her off!". I immediately felt bad. Awful thing to say. Then they turn around and kill her off. I had a least three people I know, including my roommate, tell me this was a very different episode - but one they loved. So, I just watched it on On Demand and I found it extremely good. I might start watching Blacklist now. I've always loved James Spader and now that, hopefully, those other two are gone (probably not), I'll try again. It did look like Lotte Verbeek's face was different in some way. I knew that none of what was happening was really happening, but I had no idea who she was supposed to be. Is it correct that she is...ah..Lizzie's mother? Bad thing about not knowing the whole backstory. My mind went to all kinds of crazy places, like Red hallucinating Lizzie's grown up daughter. Then I realized that wouldn't fit anything. Ha! Glad they put that necklace in there. Katerina who? Well, anyway, I enjoyed the episode as a one off.
  15. My goodness! They must have told Vera Farmiga ( or she told herself, being an EP) to go all in on that stripper scene. Her great acting helped me get over the awkwardness I thought would happen when you realized where the scene was going. I had just been thinking that the show gets just a tiny bit boring when we don't have any Norma/Norman together time. But Bates Motel knows how to make every episode interesting. Norman breaking down at the end was like a big case of the sad monster. I felt sorry for him, but only a little. I'm also really getting into the "love is in the air" vibe with Norma and the Sheriff, even though I do realize this is the calm before the storm. On rewatch: Dang Vera, your acting never ceases to amaze me. She actually way out-butched Norman with that stripper.
  16. Loving season 2! Got a couple episodes to go. This is a spoiler NOT concerning season 2. Don't know if it is a spoiler or not, but to be safe... Hoping for a season 3!
  17. For me, the great injustice in this case isn't that Steven Avery might be innocent, it's in how the Manitowoc Sheriff's department and all the people that were involved with SA's first arrest for rape got away with everything. When the depositions for the lawsuit started it was mind blowing. I don't remember who all the people were right now, but every last one of them were almost shaking in their chairs because they knew they were caught. If Steven Avery did kill Teresa Halbach...damn...not only was it horrific but it was a very stupid move. He was about to get a huge amount of money. They had Manitowoc Sheriff's department cold. Other people were also involved and there was this thing about insurance not covering everyone who had lied or misrepresented facts in the rape case. I don't think Avery would have gotten 36 million, but he would have just about busted that town and financially destroyed several people. I'm not saying that I believe all the evidence or any of the evidence was planted. I really don't know. All I do know, is that this town had great incentive to - some way, some how - get rid of this lawsuit. Personally, I strongly, strongly dislike Steven Avery. I think he is probably capable of extreme violence. Again, as I was watching the Netflix documentary, the part that frightened me the most was the idea that a Sheriff's office could possibly do something like they did in SA's first case. Then I realized that this stuff goes on all the time. Two young documentary makers simply decided ten years ago to put a spotlight on an intriguing case of a man exonerated for one crime and very soon after arrested for one much worse. This is a very interesting story with a lot of moving parts. Small town attitudes, class differences, IQ challenges, so many more things I'm too tired to go into..and make any sense..came together in this "close as we are going to get to the truth" story. It all came together to make a riveting 10 hours of dark entertainment. eh dialysis sucks On edit.. I ran out of energy and didn't get to Dassey. That young man at the very least deserves a new trial. Even if he is truly guilty, he still deserves a new trial.
  18. When Lady Gaga was announced as the winner, I let out this very loud scream of shock and dismay. So loud that it didn't make my cat run from me, but to me, with this wtf? is wrong with you look. I'm sorry. It just seems to be a real slap in the face from the Hollywood Foreign Press to all the really great female actors everywhere and especially the ones that have been nominated on AHS alone. I didn't hate LG on Hotel, although I really didn't care much for Hotel at all, I simply thought her acting was below par - no where near award winning. It's been several years since I've watched award shows and I guess I tuned in to this one because there were a few people I would have like to seen win in their categories. None of them won. Which was mostly fine because the people who did win deserved to win. Well, almost. If DC did laugh at her for winning, that's just cruel. But, I do think that a lot of people were extremely shocked. In my opinion, worth nothing, I think they had a right to be. I know these award shows are kind of bonky going in, but the LG win helped me realize that these awards truly mean nothing. And that's sad for those winners who (Brie Larson) are absolutely mind blowing in their chosen craft (this particular case "acting") in the entertainment business.
  19. Totally agree with Sarah D. Bunting, but I'm such a freak for these type of shows I will most likely watch it anyway. Then I'll have to try and get rid of another accent. I kept saying "yeah" for days after my Making a Murderer binge.
  20. This season has been tough to watch. I like all Ryan's pretty boy friends, ( and I think he deserved to let that fly high ) but something sure gets lost in AHS without Jessica Lange and Lily Rabe, more Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates..oops. That's all females. I love Evan Peters and Denis O'Hare. Where's Frances Conroy? Uh, I think I'm just trying to say that the show being a bit more female centric seems to give way to more imaginative, oh, that's not right. All I'm saying is that something is missing big time from AHS Hotel. For those of us who feel that way, I'm sure we all have different reasons. Lady Gaga got a Golden Globe nod??? NOOO! Did I get that right? I know they announced SAG nominees and GG's recently. Her acting on tonight's episode was painful. She hadn't really bothered me until they gave her a few too many lines. Why do they always over look Evan Peters. Has he ever been nominated for AHS? He should have for, at the very least, the great AHS Asylum.
  21. If Peggy had notified the police when she hit Rye, we wouldn't have had as good a story. We needed all the misunderstandings about "The Butcher" and all the great play on the personalities of all the characters. I call it "Let's bumble into a twisty-turny story. Be damned with logic!". The exact kind of story Fargo has been from the original movie. I agree with those who believe Dodd wanted Ed to watch him kill Peggy. But....it sure did look like he was killing him rather quickly with that rope. So, maybe not. ? Ed and Peggy were absolutely perfect in this one. They've been good all season, but this episode finally portrayed them clicking perfectly together, although not exactly alike. Love this show!
  22. Yes! I kept thinking about Myst through out the whole episode. I had to keep running back a couple minutes here and there because, well, I was thinking about Myst. I really got into the last 10 minutes or so. I'm not a very good Doctor Who fan when it comes to all the back stories and history. Still, I followed it pretty good. I have to admit to not knowing that city was Gallifrey or some other well known Doctor Who....I better shut up. I'm going to look worse and worse if I keep talking my Doctor Who ignorance.
  23. Oh, I think that's right, Mrs. Shibbles. I didn't catch that. Depressing to think that Truman was president when I was born. Uh, nothing against Truman, I just feel old. ha! My DVR screwed the heck out of this episode. I had to watch almost three different showings to get the whole episode. It was one of the best eps of this season. I don't read it as them demonizing Abby and Charlie so much as the writers attempting to show how different personalities clashed during this very stressful and claustrophobic time. Abby seems to me to be someone who has gone through a bit too much and is trying to find some way to be significant when she appears to fail at everything she does. It makes her very human. Maddening, but human. I see Liz as one more woman with a foot on her throat for being smart, capable, a little crazy and maybe too knowledgeable about too many things. Frank, if I remember correctly from season one, was another self-centered genius that in season two, for however many reasons, has grown a conscience and now has to watch this horrific "thing" he helped build being brought to fruition. I really love this show.
  24. I love the silly. If they keep just the right amount of silly ( what would that be?) in a good number of episodes, I will like this show much more than I already did. Yep. I was watching an old L&O SVU while being hooked up to the dialysis machine and I saw this kid, maybe 12 or 13 years old, and I thought he looked familiar. Sure enough, it was Jake McDornan. Didn't see his name in the credits, (missed those) but it was definitely him. He was a very good actor then. I started watching this show for Jennifer Carpenter. Jake McDornan is so good in this role that I now watch for both of them.
  25. The second I saw Nan Flanagan ( Jessica Tuck ), I knew she was the hacker. You see a guest star - they are almost always the culprit. I watch this show for PA and TD now. Absolutely no other reason.
