Thank God Seth won again. I will never warm to a player who doesn't start at the tops of the categories. Lots of TS today! Ones I remember getting were rugelach, Havarti, Philip Marlowe, Portsmouth, dugong, and elephants (and really? with proboscis in the clue she couldn't come up with an animal with a prominent nose?). FJ was an instaget for me.

Still Not Over It : Movie Deaths
Browncoat replied to spaceytraci1208's topic in Everything Else About Movies
But Robert Pastorelli at least got a great line foreshadowing his death -- "Why don't he write?" when they drove past the skeleton earlier. -
Oh, kangaroot made me laugh out loud. Especially the tentative way she said it. "Kanga..root?" Heh.

Definitely more Oliver Platt than Jack Black.

FJ was an instaget for me -- and of course I second-guessed myself, since I wasn't sure about the date. Not sure how an apple looks like a wing, though. I hope Seth wins at least two more so he's ahead of Arthur Chu. TS that I remembered to write down (that I got, of course!) were bandicoot, mold and antibody. I was a little sad that they left the Biology category till the end, but glad that they were able to finish the whole thing.

I'm pretty sure they would not have accepted "The guy who designed the labyrinth" for FJ, but that was all I could come up with. I didn't do very well on the TS tonight -- got Bach, Marquette and Irving Thalberg, but that's it. Go, Seth! Although the woman on the end would have been okay, too. The middle guy was fine until he started with the middles of the categories.

All I could come up with for FJ was "That guy! He's always in crossword puzzles!" Couldn't for the life of me come up with his name. However, I did get Hirohito, Happy Days, ballooning, and trap door spider. I know far too much about creatures I'm terrified of! I actually learned about spiders ballooning from "Charlotte's Web".

I was completely clueless on FJ, too. Even after Alex said Coldplay, I had no idea. So glad Bing! didn't win. He annoyed me from the start with the exclamation point, and ramped the annoyance up to 11 when he started in the middles of the categories. At least Roller Derby Girl started at the tops. TS I remember that I got were Pisces, ascorbic acid, arboricide and glory.

Good game despite being a runaway. The only TS that I both remember and got was wedding guest from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. FJ took me a second, but I got it in plenty of time to write it down.

Just catching up from ages ago, and I have to say that "pee-pee hole" is NOT the same as vagina. The judges should not have even considered that to be a match. And for a woman (who should know better) to beg the judges to allow it is jut wrong wrong wrong.

I finally got to see Friday's show. Apparently, my local station thinks the best option for Jeopardy! when there's Thursday football is to show Thursday's game on Friday during the regular time, and show Friday's game at the incredibly convenient time of 11:35 pm on Saturday. I can think of better ways, but it is what it is, I suppose. I am glad Elena didn't win Friday. Between her swaying, leaning, buzzer-flailing and starting in the middle of the damn category, I just couldn't with her. Gutsy move with the late-in-the-game DD, and nice that it paid off, but still. I'm good with Seth continuing his streak. Count me among the rest of you shouting HILO! at the TV! I couldn't believe Seth couldn't come up with it after Charlie's guess of Oahu (that's an island, Charlie, not a city) and Elena's of Kona. I also got Pretzels, SAS, fracture and The Jerk -- and was disappointed that no one knew The Jerk. For years after that movie came out, back when we still got phone books, I'd run into the house shouting, "The new phone book's here! I'm somebody!" Incredibly silly but funny movie. I was completely clueless for FJ. (But I did get The Tell-Tale-Heart from the other day -- in high school, as a project for English class, a friend and I performed it as a radio show, using the teacher's desk as a radio. It was great.)
-
Well, dammit. My local station really knows how to screw its Jeopardy! fans. Apparently for the duration of football season (or at least the duration of Thursday night football), I'm going to be a day behind for Thursday Jeopardy! and never get to see Friday's games. I will have to "watch" vicariously through y'all and hope j-archive gets updated.

Pretty good game tonight -- not too many TS that I recall, but the ones I got include polyandry (though I started with polygamy), Zesta (and I couldn't believe no one else got that after Seth missed), Kinshasa and Amstel. For the 4th force, I said gravity instead of gravitational force. Hopefully they would have accepted it. FJ was an instaget for me. Amazing that two of them missed it.

I love that NIles Gets Ready for a Date sequence! I laugh so hard every time I see it.

Thanks, ClareWalks! Japan equals either Godzilla (would they have accepted Gojira? Or perhaps Kit Gojira?) or Hello Kitty. Not sure which I would have gone with in the moment.

I just saw this, and while I really enjoyed it, and was surprised by how suspenseful it was, I did think they seriously had to work to stretch and pad it out to be a 90-minute movie. Do flight attendants really chant like that ("Brace! Brace! Brace!")? I hope I am never in a situation where I have to find out first-hand. Absolutely loved the end with the real Sully and real passengers.

Grrr... I had to go out this evening and my DVR crapped out on me and didn't record! What was FJ?

S10.E01: The Conjugal Conjecture
Browncoat replied to TheOtherOne's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
I really liked Amy's purple outfit for the wedding, but she should have worn her tiara, too. I'm not sure I even knew who Jack McBrayer was before this, but after this, I can safely say I'm not much of a fan. I probably won't avoid him, but I won't seek out his work, either. I absolutely despised Penny's hair horns in the final scene when she was taking her family back to the airport. Otherwise, meh. -
I missed Siddarth's shows last week, and now I'm kind of glad I did. I'm also glad he lost tonight. I was tired of him before he even answered anything. TS I got were Bic, Dixon Ticonderoga, Pakistan, Vitamin A, and Jack Benny. FJ was obvious to me. No idea what Dorcas was thinking. And now I want to hear Seth laugh like a broken pig.

Yes, we are in Hell. And I'm out after the opening, if it ever ends. Not really sure why I'm sticking around for it all. -

We should put Taraji in Minnie's dress, and give Minnie a different color altogether.
