FJ was not quite an instaget -- it took me a second or two to make the connection between prisons and Georgia, but from there it was an easy hop to Oglethorpe. It made me sad that no one got Bill Murray. In addition to that one, I also got Athens to Rome, Magic Bus, fly, and competition, although competition was just a guess. Fly was a surprising TS -- what else are you going to tie if you're going fishing? I still like Lisa -- I hope she sticks around for a bit. Unfortunately (sort of), I won't be able to watch tomorrow or Wednesday. But I'll be reading here for all the snark!

Can you clarify what you mean? And how that affects those close to her who haven't already lived them?

Good gravy, what is up with the sleeves on Natalie Portman's dress? Yes, please, for Mahershala Ali! -

Janelle Monae looks like she has Mickey Mouse ears on. Not a fan of her dress and wrist adornments, either. -
The original trilogy (along with the Trilogy That Shall Not Be Named) were all played quite a lot right around Christmas and New Year's.

I liked all the contestants! I think that's a first. :) I had to root for Lisa because she's a Microbiologist like I am. I picked the wrong city, and honestly have no idea if I've heard of Bloemfontein before tonight. But bloem/flowers and fontein/water -- makes sense. I was glad they got to the 60s pop lyrics category -- that was fun. And so cool that they cleared both boards in an orderly fashion, too. Heh. The TS I remember that I got were stollen, coarse, greasy and sextant. It surprised me a bit that no one knew sextant.

And some players have used it to their own detriment. Either way, it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Heh, I shouted out Arthur Miller when the category was revealed. Because Jeopardy! LOVES Arthur Miller. Okay, all y'all who were boycotting until Peewee Loren lost can come back now! The new champ is okay, but she needs to quit with the middle of the category thing. Did Loren mean "oublier" or "oubliette" when they all missed "negligee"? Either way, it was seriously a WTF moment. I got the TS of Chris Rock, tourista, Bobby Flay, Chopped and Pellegrino. Although I do wonder what restaurants one "always" hears about Pellegrino, Alex.

I've seen the movie twice in two different theaters, and had no problem either time.

Favorite Episodes: Kerosene Cucumbers, Anyone?
Browncoat replied to SunShine Gal's topic in The Andy Griffith Show [V]
And Helen was a shrew. I don't know how Andy could stand her. Especially since she couldn't cook a leg of lamb -- Andy's favorite dish. -
Right, it might have been Hill Carnegie! :) I missed last night (thank goodness) -- was Loren as slow at picking clues as he was tonight? They left way too many clues on the board. I'm not a fan of Peewee Loren, either. I was so distracted by his jiggling and slow clue-picking that I forgot to write down any TS I got, but I think there were a couple.

I finally got to see this last night and it was... fine. It was pretty and all, but maybe I waited too long to see it. It was not the bestest movie evah to me, but it was fine. It probably could have used a little editing here and there, too. When she realized she was seeing her future child, I kept thinking about Yoda -- "Always in motion is the future." Meaning, of course, that nothing a clairvoyant sees is set in stone. It also put me in mind of Close Encounters, particularly some of the sounds the aliens made. One other thing -- a booster vaccine doesn't work immediately. It takes a couple of weeks for your immune system to ramp up antibody production. So giving Louise and Ian booster shots 20 minutes before they went into the pod probably didn't help much in terms of bacterial exposures. Not sure what they were talking about later with the potential radiation exposure after she took off her suit.

I'm rooting for Mahershala Ali as well. And Naomi Harris was fine, but Viola Davis really earned this nomination, and deserves the win.

But Lapp is okay? Alrighty, then. I expected a correction as well. I was completely clueless for FJ -- got stuck on animated features in my head and would never ever have come up with Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf. And there was some TV commercial on just before that that featured the Three Little Pigs, too! I was able to get Komodo dragon, Strunk, and St. Mark. Oh, and by the way, Vidya, the G in Gila monster is pronounced like an H.

S10.E13: The Romance Recalibration
Browncoat replied to TheOtherOne's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
Unless you're texting someone to bring toilet paper, I see no reason to text from the bathroom. In fact, unless you have a ginormous house, just yell at the other person to bring toilet paper. There's really no need for a phone of any type in the bathroom, imo.- 64 replies

FJ was another instaget for me, and I don't even follow country music. But I think Dolly's pretty cool. I was glad they finally got to the Virginia flora and fauna category -- I'm from Virginia, so I knew I could run it, and I did! :) In addition to the TS of cypress in that category, I got Sydney and Sandra Day O'Connor. Neil's rocking makes me think of a toddler who really really needs to pee.

Taken at face value, it was a fine song -- nothing wrong with it as a song. It just represented to Mia (and the rest of us) that Seb sold out. And initially not for the right reasons. Ultimately, he used it to achieve his goal of opening the club, but initially, it was simply because he thought Mia was embarrassed to talk to her parents about him.
-
Another instaget FJ -- I spent a lot of time second-guessing myself, the answer was so obvious. Neil is going to drive me insane with the rocking. And the not starting at the top of the category. TS that I got include Anita Mann, Mekong River, and Durian fruit. I'd like to thank The Amazing Race for Durian fruit.

Good lord, I'm glad Sherri lost. She lost me with her first pick -- in the middle of the damn category. And I hadn't noticed John's vocal fry until tonight. It made my throat hurt just to listen to it. I really need to brush up on US History -- and I thought the clue was ambiguous whether it wanted the city or the state, too.

Well, the good news is that my satellite provider and my local station reached an eleventh-hour agreement (of course they did!) so I won't lose J!, but the (sort of) bad news is that I missed J! tonight in favor of going to see La La Land. I loved the movie, incidentally. What was FJ?
-
I know this has been asked before, but I don't remember the answer -- is there anywhere online to watch Jeopardy!? My satellite provider and my local affiliate are in the middle of a rates disagreement, and if it isn't resolved, I will lose J! starting tonight. :( The local station doesn't come in very well without some boost from cable or satellite due to the mountains, or I'd just get rabbit ears.

I knew Cook County in Illinois because of The Blues Brothers.
