  1. I recently attended a "throwback" showing of Pretty in Pink (very cool - they are put on by Phantom Events and shown (I think) nationwide) and they showed the alternative original ending.....in which Duckie gets the girl! Apparently it didn't test well in screenings, and they changed it!
  2. The Columbia House deal used to be in the paper pretty much every Sunday. I don't remember getting it in the mail specifically, but I remember going thru the ad each week and "picking out" my music. I actually joined for a period of time (legitimately), fulfilled my requirement, and then quit. The bigger issue was that they would send you a packet every few weeks with the announcement of what the selection of the month was. If you didn't send back the card and either decline or select another tape, you would automatically get the selection of the month. If I remember correctly, you had to buy 8 tapes in 2 years or something, so it really wasn't a big deal. And when you factored in the almost free tapes, it was a pretty cheap way to accumulate a stash of music. The thing I found interesting was that, as a pre-teen, once I joined and got my 12 tapes, I would have struggled to find 12 more that I wanted. So that part didn't ring true to me - but maybe my music taste wasn't diverse enough.
  3. I must admit that I shook my head at the woman guessing Z and Q and X....and not even guessing a turn or two in the final round. I read an interesting take on it elsewhere, and it actually might make sense. The episode was honoring Veterans, and all three contestants were Vets. I read that she was trying to ensure that the others got a chance to take home some prize money. She already had her spot pretty much locked in to win, so..... Personally, I find that answer more palatable than not wanting to give the other people ANY clues whatsoever. But I do admit to always trying to give people the benefit of the doubt.
  4. So....trying to get this straight.... According to Vicki, Meghan should stay out of other people's business.....but Vicki (1) gets to question how Jimmy's daughter spends her day if she's not in school, (2) gets to question EVERYONE's finances as far as advising them on spending money without consulting their spouse, and (3) gets to lecture some poor girl who is laying on a table acting as a serving platter. And those are just three examples I can come up with in about 2 1/2 seconds of thinking..... Pot - meet Kettle.......
  5. I can't believe I am about to justify Shannon and David having 13 bathrooms....but I am....(NOTE: I am not justifying their house....but for their house, the number of bathrooms make sense). I just looked at the floor plan.....and I am one powder room short (the stats say 8 full baths and 5 partials, I can't find the 5th partial - maybe by the pool?). On the main level, there is a bedroom with its own bath, a powder room off the craft room, and a powder room off the foyer. On the lower level, where the theater, the basketball court, the fitness room, and the maid's room are, there is a powder room off the theater, a full bath in the maid's room, and a full bath off the fitness room. On the upper level, there is a bonus room with a powder room, the master bedroom with its own bath, and three bedrooms, each with their own bath. Finally - the guest house has a bedroom with a bathroom. So....again....not to justify the house itself, but, for the functionality of the house, the bathroom count makes sense.....LOL (Edited because I do understand the difference between it's and its.....and also because the guest room doesn't have a bedroom, the guest HOUSE has a bedroom).
  6. I agree with those that say Shannon was being sarcastic on the bathroom comment.....she paused as if waiting for the rimshot..... There were some crazy birthday issues going on - first of all, going out on a boat, even in Southern California, in the evening can be really chilly. Even if Brooks wanted to surprise her, he could have told her to wear flats and bring a jacket, wrap, shawl, something. Or bring one for her, and don't let her know. And as far as the restaurant choice, as much as I am loathe to be on David's "side" he might have thought the place would be fun for the family. It looked like it opened to the outside (not sure where it is) and it could have been a fun place if you weren't out with Debbie Downer. (And....with that being said....who the heck says "Hey, by the way, I banged my mistress after I banged you on your 50th birthday).......
  7. You mean.....besides the fact that he was holding himself out to be a psychic?
  8. Far be it from me to defend any of the craziness that surrounds "alternative high school arrangements"...but it's possible her prom DATE was a student at a traditional high school and she was going to his prom. Even though she doesn't attend a traditional high school, she appears to do things with friends, and the majority of her friends would probably be in school. So....maybe?
  9. I love seeing places I've been to on this show! Our company Christmas party was at that same "bowling alley" (and I use the term loosely) and we even bowled on those very same two lanes. Someone commented on them not requiring bowling shoes. Rest assured, a real bowling alley would require real bowling shoes for a multitude of reasons. However, the place they were is very much a "boutique" bowling alley set up for people who are only bowling for the kitsch factor of it - and not really into bowling. Nothing wrong with that, just a different market. And they were "stranded" on the 73 toll road, where it costs more than $5 to travel about 5 miles. A silly toll road if I've ever seen one, but you're highly unlikely to get attacked or anything by some crazed killer with a machete. Cars break down (even limos) and I am sure the limo company and/or the production company sent some one to rescue the damsels in distress very quickly.
  10. I thought it was interesting that, during the rehearsal footage, they showed the whole conversation between Mark and Sadie asking if she would be uncomfortable if he didn't wear a shirt. She said yes. Fast forward to show time - he was shirtless......way to respect your celebrities opinion Mark! Not saying her opinion is ALL that matters - but why bother asking if you don't really care?
  11. Had to pop in just to post that sometime in the last few days (think Thursday - yesterday - sorry, just kept forgetting to post) either Groupon or Living Social had an AWESOME deal for classes at....you guessed it.....Cut Fitness!!! Regularly $100.00 - for $29.00 you could either get 5 classes or 6 weeks of unlimited classes (someone really worked hard on that deal - I wonder how many people opt for the 5 classes? Huh???). And oh, by the way, if 2 of your friends buy the deal along with you, you can get it for $23.00. Interesting - most places I know that do Groupons or Living Social deals don't seem to last very long after they start the deals. (There are a few exceptions, I admit).
  12. With regards to Zach using Jeremy as his wedding photographer - I would be surprised if he DID. I mean, my guess would be that Jeremy will be his best man, and will have things to do in that role. It would be really tough to also be the photographer.....and how many of the pictures would Jeremy be in as the best man? If I were in that situation, I would be asking Jeremy to recommend someone HE trusted (perhaps whoever he uses for HIS wedding) to take the pictures. And who knows? Perhaps the photographer that Zach and his fiancee used is related to his fiancee, or perhaps Jeremy was still away at school and there was some reason they didn't want to wait for the pictures? So many questions, so few answers.....
  13. I did miss that he danced on Season 2 - I don't think I had started watching the show yet that season. And thank you for posting the link! (And sorry for the delay in responding - I am still learning my way round the board, and didn't see the little "thing" that meant someone had responded to my post!
  14. I've always thought it would be fun for them to have Tom Bergeron dance....but then I worry about who we would end up with hosting.....Mario Lopez? Drew Lachey?
