  1. I don't like JenaNotGina, but Joan Jett was a brill move. Dexter's choice is also a good choice imo, but I can see the jidges saying it's too "anthem" which, to me, means "good song choice." Why isn't Randy doing any actual mentoring? It's irritating.
  2. Penny to Sheldon: "Yep; I'm a big ole' five."
  3. Victoria at the gaming table. "I should have given the dice a little blow." Mom: "You should have given one to the dealer."
  4. Why was Len almost yelling at Charlie about doing a "proper" rhumba if he's in the finals? Charlie doesn't do the choreography. Sheesh.,
  5. This is shallow, but I thought Danica looked cuter with the skirt on.
  6. Help? It's making me crazy. Does anyone know the song they played in the bumper coming back in from commercial at about 16 minutes in when Peta and Charlie and Cheryl and James did a little switch move? It was horns and drums with a little rap-ish lyrics, but I couldn't hear it. What is that song? It's driving me nuts. It wasn't a couples' dance song; it was in the bumper returning from commercial. Drats. It was just before Cheryl and James' clip package/throne dance. TIA. :)
  7. Just weighing in, I'd much rather read about other boards/news/gossip etc here than to actually click on the other boards' links. They're scary. [/chicken] Some people in other places are insane. There was this one time.. on another board I had an opinion (gasp!) that disagreed with some insane person and they promptly suggested that I kill myself.... which was absurd and certainly not going to happen, but wow and YIKES. I think I had said that I didn't like someone's dancing or some such and all hell broke loose. It reminds me of Todd Barry's bit, "I like Triscuits, You like Wheat Thins; BOO!" hee. My point is, thanks to admins and mods for this great place ...full of insightful, witty, snarky, sane, courteous posters even when we have (gasp! clutch pearls!) different opinions. Sidenote: I was going to say, "There was this one time... in band camp..." but decided I need some new, more recent references. :)
  8. I like Danica well enough, but I wonder if Maks did the best he could in that I'm getting the feeling that she is a difficult student because she's in her head a lot (Liz Berkley.) I could be wrong, but I'm not convinced that Maks phoned it in at all. And even if he did JH didn't need to say that because it's rude - for one, and two.. she can't know that. And three, she's supposed to be judging the celebs IIRC. There's no way to know what was in Maks' head. However, it is kind of clear when a couple doesn't do the assigned dance. The non-jazz, the non-rhumbas, etc If they're going to harp on that aspect they should do so consistently - not pick and choose who to harp on depending who the pro is. Bah.
  9. I thought the Nene dance looked a lot like one or two of the Amber dances when she had really bad knee problems. If it looks familiar to me, - me- who knows next to nothing about dance, then ...well... I think "BooBoo Munchkin" recycled.
  10. I used to be a huge fan, but sheesh, go away already, Julianne. Jesus. She's gone beyond obnoxious into full blown bitchy. Good on Maks for not taking the bait. Poor Danica. I know life is not fair, but if you're going to fawn over one, fawn - or at least try to fawn - over both. I felt bad for her. Let's face it. Meryl could dance with Bozo or Captain Crunch and be totally awesome. Not taking away from Val's choreo because that was magnifico, imo, but still....
  11. I want to yank those stupid hats off their heads. Mark, and it pains me to say this, was so gentle the way he lifted Amy etc, or rather, the way he set her down after a lift. It warmed my cold, black heart. NO MORE DIAPER PANTS PEOPLE! [/sorry for the yelling]
  12. I have a soft spot for Drew, so he'd have to become a colossal asshat for me not to love him. Having said that... heh [/Tom] his dance was not a 9 in any universe. It was cute; it was fun and joyful, but it was no 9. I liked the MSoD performance. Who were the other shirtless dudes? I saw Derek. The men were like the plethora of blondes. Hard to tell them apart with that camera work (for me.)
  13. Thank you! Do you happen to know the bit of the song that was playing when they came back from commercial right before they had that little thing where James and Charlie did the switch dance move to change from Peta to Cheryl? It has a heavy horn line and that's about all they played. It's making me crazy that I can't think of the song. TIA. It wasn't a couples' dance song, but a play-in from the commercial. I used to flove Julianne when she was a dancer. Now I can't wait 'til she shuts her piehole. "Tucking pelvis" sounded scripted to me I actually liked CAI's dress. So there's that.
  14. So Candace has never heard the radio or seen a movie in which "make it rain" has been said? Interesting. I will give Candace credit for having a lovely, natural face. She makes facial expressions like a real human (sans botox). Not knocking botox etc. I might get it some time, but it's refreshing and unusual to see in a celeb, or rather not see. She's naturally beautiful. However, her dancing seems to be going downhill, imo. Odd.
  15. Meryl and Val gave me chills. STUNNING. What was that song? Wow. Why does JH judge and comment on the pros? Is that her job? Was Val wearing diaper pants in the rehearsal clip? ODG, (Oh Dear God) tell me no.
  16. Bring Charlie's hair back. I still think it blows that the score they get with another person this week effects who goes home next week.
  17. Wow, just because something is true doesn't mean it should be said and I don't even know if it's true. I agree; What JH said to Maks was rude to him and especially to Danica. JH makes CAI look almost in the normal range. Also, I hated that peek-a-boo dress. Usually I kind of like those cutout dresses, but it wasn't working for me. What the hell was that Cody twit doing in the mirror with his chest? He and his hair can go next. It was awkward that they went on and on about Drew being so much better with Whitney and Drew's: "I'm not missing Cheryl as much as I thought." Although I took it that he was kidding since Cheryl chimed in that it was creepy, which I took as kidding around as well. Why did Tom refer to the music mistake as a "track?" Isn't it live music?

    All Episodes Talk

I love Lilith on Cheers, but she out-did herself here. I loved every eppy she was in. She and Niles. All the holidays. GOLD!
  19. There are many favs for me on this show, but Peggy at the Boggle tournament, Peggy in the beauty pageant, and any eppy in Mexico are some that leap to mind. There were a couple of them set in Mexico. Hank et all got stuck there without their passports. Peggy accidently brought back a Mexican child from a school field trip. So many funny ones.
  20. Weird (or not) that the most difficult part of the trek is getting to the pickup point which takes place at the very end when they're at their worst. I get it though that it wouldn't make much sense to do it early ....or would it? As in, go ahead and charge out at the beginning.and reach the pickup point early while you're still strong; then hang out there for however many days, getting dehydrated and starving, but at least you're at your pickup point. I didn't say that well, but you get my drift.
  21. This show is one of my all time favorites. Odd that Kevin James movie career sort of fizzled since he was on fire for 9 or however many seasons on this show. His standup is pretty hilarious too, but he's only done one that I can find. "Dont' Sweat the Small Stuff" IIRC. This show rarely had a dud, but for me the last couple of eppys got kind of dark. Also the miscarriage eppy was too sad for me. Other than those, it was fairly consistently hilarious. Weird that Carrie had a sister in the pilot or first couple of shows, then she was toast. Loved Patton Oswalt as "Spence" and Patton was pretty funny with Kevin's real life brother, who played Doug's doofus cousin on the show, comedian Gary Valentine. Can't think of his character name at the moment. It's so hard to choose a fav eppy, but one of them for me was when Doug shot himself in the nads with the staple gun. OMG... "Yep, right in the tool bag." I mean, it's not funny, but it is. I also like anytime they took a vacation somewhere, and the one where Doug had to go to Overeaters Anonymous and ended up in the abused spouse support group. :)
  22. Raj to Stuart at the comic book store: "What are you drinking there?" Stuart: "Coffee liqueur in a Chewbacca mug.... I call it a, 'Sad-tini.' "
  23. Rick Springfield was on Hot in Cleveland not too long ago and I don't recall thinking that he as 65. Wow. He'd be a good choice, as mentioned. Also John Stamos. Stevie Nicks. Just throwing it out there. Who was the Wonder Years kid? Fred Savage? Yeah, him. Another Spice Girl wouldn't be tur-ble, imo.
  24. I flove it too. I wish we had a Knoll here, but I don't know the legalities of that. Or we could have a Knoll and know it's a Knoll, but we can call it something different but still conspiracy-ish... for legal reasons if there are any.... Area 51 or some such. I wish they'd post the name of the song in the corner of the screen that the couples dance to. Many times I have to go searching elsewhere for the name of the song. So far I'm liking the new band.
  25. YES. Where the eff was Randy the Mentor Almighty to advise Ben not to do that song? Even Randy had to know that was suicide. If Randy is going to fill the mentor role he really should try to do at least a little mentoring. "Ben, do not under any circumstances do that song unless you want to go the hell home" should have been word one to Ben from the mentor. [/air quotes/finger bunnies here]
