  1. I disagreed with Kitty there and love that Mia 100% proved her wrong. But I also liked that scene because it was one of few times we got to hear a little of what vets thought of the rookies as dancers. Probably some ladies would be highly motivated by the ranking board being displayed continuously and others would lose confidence and let it get in their heads. (Others might let their high rank go to their heads, too, in obnoxious attitude ways.) I almost always think that the TCCs should have had some clue of where they stood before getting cut. Alexandra got lots of commentary on her mistakes and just couldn't get a grip on the choreo. She had to know that, I think, even if she didn't want to see the writing on the wall. 100%! She was thrilled for her friend but, if Kash had been in Kelli's shoes, she would not have picked such a snoozer for point. Speaking of, any further word on why KaShara has parted ways with DCC?
  2. The article on Zheyna and video on Kayla are great! Makes me more disappointed to miss seeing this rookie class and getting to know more about these impressive women and watch them dance, though. Thanks for posting things like this, y'all!
  3. I was totally underwhelmed by Bre in training camp last year--but in the videos I've seen of her in prep classes since then, she's been impressive and eye-catching and fun in her performance. I wonder what happened in auditions?? That may remain one of those eternal DCC mysteries, like why LSU Caitlin (?) didn't make training camp. Who was the Lakers Girl who auditioned this year? Did she make the team? Not sure why I feel like she maybe got cut early? Excited for Kylie's comeback! I wasn't sure she'd make it, just based on the auditions photos. She looked cute but clunky in them as far as some of her body lines went, so I'm glad she polished it up. She seems like she would be a great team member. I'm eager for more performance videos! I want to see my fave vets up front and how the new vets are doing. Checking out the new rookies comes third on that list--since, ya know, we know nothing about them and I have less investment in them than the vets I've watched on the show. I am so hoping that they do something real with all that footage they shot this summer! Gonna put faith in Kelli's perseverance that she won't let it go until she makes something happen. Give us a documentary about this summer and football season with the collected footage and gear up for a new Netflix or some such series starting next training camp! I'm just saying.
  4. Hello, someone mentioned Tyra's social media disappeared? I need confirmation she's still on the team please!! 😶
  5. I'm dead! This is the correct terminology for the situation. 🤣 [Insert Jenn A saying, "There's redheads that are good, brunettes that are good, blondes..."]
  6. I just watched this finals episode. Christina literally answered: "I think the star represents the DALLAS COWBOYS!" Oh?! The star on the uniforms and billions of dollars of Dallas Cowboys merchandise represents...the Dallas Cowboys? It went downhill from there.
  7. More interesting--and more useful, I think--than the finals interviews were the few times in earlier seasons that I saw Kelli doing pop quizzes with certain TCCs. I recall TCC Zoe getting cut one year because she didn't know Tom Landry was dead and thought he was the game announcer or something & Kelli & Judy got the vapors. Or she asked TCC Kimber to tell her about some current events. These clearly were areas in which the TCCs had shown weakness earlier on, in testing, interviews, or elsewhere, and were told to work on Cowboys knowledge, current events, etc. The pop quiz was to see if they had done their homework and improved their knowledge as expected of them.
  8. GLs get a pinky band with a diamond to stack on top of their DCC ring, I believe. This 5 year rule is interesting. I see the logic for it, and I also see why some are asking what it would change, if much of anything. It could impact the tenure of the 5th years--I could see a couple who might have gone for a 6th year. I will be sad when they retire, because that was one of my favorite rookie classes on the show. So many strong performers, and they seem so tight still. Ashlee, Bridget, Caroline, Cianna, Jaylyn, Alanna, Gabby, Amber, Rachel W, Erin, Daphne--and VK didn't make it. I love seeing this rookie class senior leadership in the spotlight this year. I'd love it more if there were a show or docu-series to watch...Keeping my fingers crossed.
  9. Ashlee is captivating to watch! I'm still feeling hopeful we'll get to see Ashlee at point some this season. I'd also be all about Chandi as a future point! And I think she has a great chance. She made a big leap into the triangle last year, is featuring prominently and shining so far this year, and I recall both Kelli and Charlotte talking about how much they loved Chandi when she was still a TCC. She has grown and improved every year, and now she's a 2GL. I see GL and point as within her reach and I am here for it! Kelli and Judy may have paired Chandi with Caroline this year with those very things in mind. I am pumped for Caroline, love having Ashlee, Caroline, and Kelcey in a triangle together, and am a little sad for Ashley and Kelcey. I am confident they also will get their spotlights this year, tho! Sending hugs to you and all who are grieving in different ways through different losses. It's not dumb or silly at all that you feel this way! Especially at this time of year as September is approaching. Many people have those shows or movies that help relieve or distract and enjoy in tough times. The need to escape is very human, and we've all been needing that these past few wild and tragic years. Also, cheerleaders literally are supposed to cheer us up and on, not just in the victories but especially in losses or intense moments. So, it's not silly that folks are feeling the loss of the show with more pangs than we expected. I started watching during season 3, when I moved to a new city where I basically knew no one. I thought I'd distract myself chuckling about the big hair at prelims and here I am, 13 years later, also feeling unexpectedly at a loss that MTT has ended and glad to have this forum space to still engage it and the community here. I'm still holding out hope, though, for a new show or documentary. I just need them to hurry up so I can see some of my faves shine as leaders and in the triangle this year, please! Re: Oxnard videos and finals photos: These dancers are looking fantastic!
  10. I was so underwhelmed by Amanda last year that I have no investment in her making the team. I think her makeover does nothing for her, but it's such a blonde rookie class, it might help her stand out. I couldn't quite put it into words, but "Amy vibes which is kinda yawn" is exactly how I feel about Amanda! Right here. Been a Caroline fan since her rookie year, even as she had limited screen time. Her dancing would consistently catch my eye in the background or on the edge of the screen. I just really enjoy watching her dance. Caroline, Ashlee, and Kelcey are my front runners for point and I will be sad for whoever doesn't get it.
  11. I am loving the GL and 2GL pairings, but I am surprised a bit at Kat. I think she has proven herself and improved greatly over her years as a DCC, so my surprise is more that I think she has stated a plan to do DCC for 4 years and I would think they'd pick a 3rd year likely to stick around to be GL. I like that whole class and would love to see Ellie, Dani, Armani, Jada, or even Jessica as 2GLs or eventual GL. You are 100% correct, and we need hope in these dark days! This got me to thinking, maybe if there is no training camp show, there still could be one that covers the football season, which could refresh for longtime viewers of MTT and cover some new stuff. I'd love more in-depth glimpses of how game days operate up close (tags getting called, quarter changes, big half time performances, plus pregame rehearsals and rituals, and group rehearsals (I always have wanted to see individual group rehearsals and more of what GLs and 2GLs do as leaders). It also could cover some Show Group performances and rehearsals, maybe Cowboys training camp, calendar shoot, and end of year banquet. All that said, I do love auditions and training camp and would still be a little sad to miss them, especially with this group of GLs and 2nds. Hello, Kelli, are you taking notes here about this new show design?
  12. Jada's kicks are impeccable! And she looked fantastic in a solo shot I saw, too--excellent form and lots of power in even a still shot. She just gets better each year. If there's going to be no show, I hope to be able to rely on Tyra's videos and that she does more of them! She said she was doing it to document for herself this time in her life, so maybe she'll do extras knowing there is/may be no show this season. I'm feeling really disappointed not to get to watch this training camp and which leaders get their time in the spotlights. The vets I expect to get GL and points have been some of my favorites since their rookie seasons. So bummed not to see them as up close this season, but I wish them all the best and that they get to perform their hearts out.
  13. I was a big fan of Ashley N as a DCC! She didn't get a lot of screen time talking on the show, but her dancing and performance always caught my eye. She was one I had hoped would get 2GL and GL who never did. Lily is in this near the end and look so happy and relaxed in a way I pretty much never saw on the show. I think she appears to be shining on the Broncos team because she is more comfortable and that lets her perform and not be so stiff. I think the pressure she felt from K & J and/or part of the DCC environment was stressful and not positive for her and that showed in her DCC performance. I do not think it was her teammates who all appeared to support her and adore her that made up the negativity that strained Lily--I put most of that on Kelli and Judy. Or at least, the pressure Lily perceived was coming from them.
  14. Haha, yess-Claire is such a given that I didn't list her in this part of my comments. I see how this reads now, but as I'd mentioned Claire as a possible point already, I was trying to say that I think Armani and Marissa might be in line after Claire and before Ellie and Dani for more prominent positions. Of all those just mentioned, I don't see Marissa at point but moved up even possibly to the top triangle. She's pretty but, from what little I've seen in these videos just posted, she's not as good a dancer or as pretty as Rachel W. This is me judging on very limited info, so just my initial impression! I think her fear of getting cut and possibly blindsided by TPTB at any moment got in Lily's way. I would be shocked if she didn't know why she got cut because she danced like she was scared stiff a lot of the time. I don't like how the vets got cut, but I think Lily and Hannah didn't look like they were dancing at their best that last training camp. (*Ducks objects being thrown my way.*) Brennan, on the other hand, looked like the same dancer and performer to me, so I don't really see why her dancing was good enough for two years and not that last year.
  15. I can't get down with endorsing any point pairing for 2022 that doesn't include Ashlee, BUT, I am a big Dani fan and I have had her as one of my point-hopefuls since her rookie season. Dani and Ellie are my two point/traingle hopefuls for that rookie class, even though I suspect Marissa and Armani might get the prominent placement first. I would love to see Armani in the triangle as well, but am still kind of meh on Marissa (although she's grown on me this past year). I'm still going for Ashlee/Kelcey or Ashlee/Caroline for this year. I agree with Judy and judges and others here. There was something just flat about her dancing. She never wowed me and seemed an easy first cut. I'm a little surprised to learn of her NBA experience because she lacks that pop I'd expect of a professional NBA dancer. If Cassie's going to make a comeback, it seems like it would have to be this year or next. I'd love to see her come back really strong and make the team but I am not holding my breath. Sending you and your husband positivity and healing thoughts!
  16. I have not been a real Maddie fan. But, I wish her well, and I will say this about her and her move to Cali: She grew up as a big fish in a little dance studio pond and was unprepared for the DCC level and performance; but, she went home and figured out how to make it in that bigger pond and become the big fish again (although her time at point still mystifies me some). So, while I am not wowed by her dancing, I see that she has skill and that extra something in her performance that genuinely draws a lot of people in. Her big-fish leveling-up persistence and that extra something that apparently many see in her give her a real chance. Good luck to her!
  17. Yes! I often think, how are their inner arms not all scratched up and red from all the bling on the sides of their tops?? Also, as many point out, there are seasons the tops don't seem to fit or be constructed for supported sporty activity.
  18. She really freaked out! I felt badly for her there--her terror was real. Nice of them not to play up that scene, especially since they seem to love to replay people's humiliating moments. But in general, I did not care for Sarah much.
  19. Least favorite season: Season 4. The Minchews, the whole awkward Kaimie situation, Grace Sells getting cut (one of the few cuts I always disagreed with--Kelli and Judy, please take note of my correct opinion on this), and Sara Gourley got featured a good bit as a leader (she always bugged me a bit). Still plenty to like about that season, but there you go. My next least favorite season, although I love nearly all of that rookie class, is season 15. I'm certain I don't have to explain that one. Favorite makeovers that haven't been named yet (I don't think): Alexandria from Florida and this year's Rookie of the Year Kellee! With Alexandria's makeover, I was kind of shocked at how little Kelli knew of Black women's hair care, given her involvement in rookie makeovers each year. I remember with Alex she was learning basic vocabulary. I thought Alex's hair and makeup makeovers were great, and same for Kellee! Both women were beautiful before but got that glam factor. I love the brighter blush and eyes they put on Kellee at her makeover, too.
  20. I think the light and shadows are making her nose look totally different and much wider than usual, and that throws everything off. Plus, it looks like she's gotten lip injections (again?), which I find disappointing, because I agreed with others here that maybe she'd been bumped down in the triangle because of the cosmetic work she'd had done and that it wasn't as flattering as her natural face. I think Caroline is gorgeous on her own, and I truly hope she didn't take Kelli's comment her rookie season to heart that they were seeing her as "kinda plain" and has been doing all this stuff to try to fit some beauty mold. I hope I am over reading and she just likes doing this stuff because they get DCC perks and several on the team seem to be doing it.
  21. I've been saying my top two point pics are Ashlee and Caroline for a while, but then I started thinking Kelcey over Caroline. I just love Kelcey's dancing and I think she is more consistently photogenic than Caroline (and I'm pointing out the latter because I think K & J care about that, hence Rachel W's prominent everything, including 2 years at 2nd point.) I have not waivered on wanting Kelcey or Ashlee to get point since their respective rookie seasons. I'd love to see Caroline in the triangle, still. Or at least in the 3rd spot like she was this past year. I know some say she looks like a soccer mom, but I like her dance style and have been a fan of hers since her rookie season, too. Maybe an Ashlee (point), Claire, Chandi triangle and a Kelcey (point), Caroline, McKenzie or Dani triangle? I think that is Ms. Price, a mega Cowboys fan and elder. I think her enthusiasm knows no bounds and she just wants to cheer them on. If that's her, when she was sick a few years back, it seemed like half of Cowboys Nation was tweeting and praying for her, so I'm guessing most wouldn't mind and just let her have her fun.
  22. I'm just a girl, hoping some other network picks up a new DCC show so I can watch these auditions and this year's training camp as I have for the past decade. Kelli, come through!
  23. Wow, so very orange and those hair and eyelash extensions everywhere are beyond a bit much! Are her lips like twice the size they usually look, or is it just me? Glad Gina got her year at point and two years as GL, and I am ready to see her go. She's an amazing dancer and performer, but I never enjoyed her look that much. She always looks a bit fake to me...and she is more thin and hungry-looking than I find attractive, as far as photogenic point goes. I bet that under all that, she is really pretty, though.
  24. She has not been a 2nd GL. Madeline's whole "I thought I did enough to get by" remark and mind frame when she got called out by that guest was very revealing, as others have said here. Before that, i felt kind of badly that she was such a blender. I will give her this: she's a pretty great DCC blender. She is photogenic with that dark hair and pretty blue eyes, has a great figure, usually has very clean lines, and has that vanilla something that just...blends pretty seamlessly into the DCC ensemble. Did someone say here that Madeline M got a job with her old Notre Dame dance team?? Not too shabby! It also seems like the perfect Vanilla Blend brand dance team setting for her. Anyone recall if that's right and, if so, what her position is?
