S18.E19: Chicago Reunion, Part 1
After7Only replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in Married At First Sight
David was doing the same squirmy vagueness thing he did when lying to Michelle and the experts when KF asked about the timeline. I don’t expect him to tell the truth. But it’s pretty clear things were physical before the retreat. Still don’t understand Madison’s hostility towards Michelle. Her conversation with Allen was civil and she genuinely (for her) apologized. If she kept that same energy towards Michelle, it would have been a much better look. Also interesting there is no footage on Michelle bad mouthing Madison. Madison commenting on Michelle’s age was an especially bad look.- 80 replies

Enjoyed the effort Lady Gaga put into both musical performances. But that 2nd song/performance was heavily influenced by Prince, Sign of the Times

Madison complained about Allen’s clothes meanwhile David wore a polo shirt to a fancy restaurant on her birthday…..

Federal employee's managers and department heads already know what the worker has accomplished. There are already mechanism's in place for that. And if you are doing a great job, there are ways to reward good performance. The major issue is the request came from outside the chain of command. And the request lacked context. It would be like the VP of Finance at a private company sent emails to everyone asking what they did last week without any other context. The other VPs at that company would probably instruct their employees not to respond, and would coordinate any response if it was appropriate.

Oh she remembers…. She corrected herself and said no one on the CURRENT panel has been mean to her.

S18.E16: The Experts Have Questions
After7Only replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in Married At First Sight
Michelle had an issue with his coffee dates with his tinder friends. But more in a “do you think that’s appropriate? It’s not something I would do..”. kind of way. she wasn’t really mad and she seemed to let it go. We are only talking 8 weeks. David talked a lot about being all in….and trying his best, but his actions indicate he gave up pretty early and sought validation elsewhere. Michelle didn’t like him, but she at least gave him the respect not to openly pursue other men. -
S18.E16: The Experts Have Questions

It was a bit over the top. But I also thought it was very organized destruction. 🙂 The things he destroyed belonged to both of them. The broken cups were neatly put in the sink. The photo book was torn but the pages weren't ripped out and the book placed back on the table. The burnt vows were burned but quickly extinguished and left on the counter. None of her personal items were touched and none of the apartment's property was damaged. It felt more producer manipulated than an out of control response from Allen -
S18.E16: The Experts Have Questions
After7Only replied to TwirlyGirly's topic in Married At First Sight
When the experts asked had they'd been intimate, David's response, facial expressions and posture was exactly the same as when he was lying to Michelle about the text messages. He gave them the same same lines about not caring if they believed him that he gave her. That solidified to me that something physical definitely happened between the two of them -

So the show did a super cut of all the David and Madison clues, including the late night camera footage of them coming home to their separate apartments at the same time. I think Production knew what was going on before the retreat. And while Emem wasn’t wrong in what she said to Ikechi, I really wish she would have done it differently. She came across bitter and he’s not worth the effort -
The rest of her quote was “and I didn’t win…”. That was the joke she was attempting to make 😀

I agree that Michelle was awful to David at the beginning. But she was always very honest. I think her issue was the lying, not the cheating. When David told her about the coffee dates with ex tinder dates. She wasn’t happy, but she let it go. But the repeated lying to her face, even when she pointed out specifically why she felt he was lying was triggering to her and she couldn’t let it go. She seems to value honesty. And David was “playing in her face” as the kids like to say 😀 I don’t think she did it for the edit. Hated that David talked to Allen instead of Madison. Very cowardly on her part.

Because Musk was behind the cuts to aid to South Africa. He also is behind white South Africans now being considered refugees in America. That is likely what Sunny was trying to reference when she was giving the land ownership statistics, Sunny could do better setting up the background for her statements, but she's (or any of the ladies really) are rarely given enough time to do so without being interupted.

I’m sure the Doge dude is working with other people especially women and minorities. So him stating he is a racist, does directly affect how he does his job. No one wants to work with an open racist. If a teacher said on SM that they hated kids, most parents would have issues with that person teaching their kids

Agreed it’s gross. However, I’m not crazy about the narrative that this all Kanye’s doing. It may very well be his wife’s idea, or she’s she a willing participant. Placing the blame on Kanye only reduces her to a victim or child, instead of a fully equal woman.

She was, but she also made sure to say to him that even though she felt closer to him she still wasn’t attracted to him.

I had to chuckle at the end when Joy said they wouldn’t be on Monday for MLK Day. Instead of saying they won’t be on because of the inauguration.

That criticism of Pelosi was a head scratcher and tone def on her part. She is no longer in House leadership. There's no real reason she needs to be there, especially given she has a recently broken hip. I'm also not a fan of Alyssa's current attitude that because he won, the previous stuff he did is basically excused. And the others should let go of their concerns. She didn't stop criticizing Biden policies even though that is what the American people voted for (nor should she have)

I liked that Tom basically told her exactly that in a caring way. He talked about how he's changed and been vulnerable for her, and he wanted her to be more vulnerable towards him. Tom seems like a really good guy. I would like to see Madison slow down her partying ways if she really wants to to show Allen she is trying to make the marriage work. She already acknowledged that drinking brings out a darker side to Allen. Yet she continues to encourage him to socially drink. Seems like a better approach would get to know him while he's at his best. .

I'd guess that Alyssa makes more money on the View than she would working in the Trump administration. Although I do think she is trying to rebuild some bridges to position herself for her post View career working somewhere else in conservative media. Iget where Sunny is coming from. Karen is a relatively new phenomena (past 5-6 years). And while the origins is of the term was white woman, the "trope" has basically morphed into any overly entitled woman who doesn't just mind her business regardless or race. Cashmeoutside girl (both the original and nancy mace) are both angry and white, but it's not Karen behavior

S18.E10: Anniversary Dinner Showdown

I think the show was hoping for Karla and Juan to be fun and quirky like Bennet and Amelia from the New Orleans season. But Juan is not the guy for that. -
I don't think they conflated the argument. H1B visa holders are used partially to fill a need, but mostly because they are cheaper. The visas are also valid for a limited period (I think 3 years). So at the end of the 3 years, the company can just let them go and replace with a new batch of cheap H1B visas holders. The H1B effectively are used in the same way/purpose as those who are here "illegally". They also provide cheap labor for companies who want to maximize profit. It's not necessarily true that Americans don't want these jobs. They are well paying jobs, why wouldn't we? There are some that believe that public education system is purposely kept low performing, and STEM careers are not heavily promoted or encouraged because companies prefer the cheaper labor from foreign workers. So to some the H1B holders are taking jobs that Americans could do if given the training and opportunity. H1B is a temporary work visa. It's only for a limited period. After it expires they will need to pursue a green card or citizenship in some other way if they want to stay in the US. A green card is basically permanent resident status. Meaning they can legally stay and work in the US indefinitely.

S18.E09: You Into Some Crazy Stuff
After7Only replied to kristen111's topic in Married At First Sight
I don't fault her for wanting someone more financially stable. Most people prefer a financially stable partner. But I do fault for, for going on this show if financial stability was at the top of her priority list for a partner. And she's made it clear that she values financial stability and lifestyle compatibility over all of other things she said she wanted in a partner. It was telling that she equates David being a provider in terms of financially providing only. And couldn't grasp the concept of other ways a husband could provide for a wife. This show just doesn't attract the type of man she's looking for. Most are middle class guys with stable careers. If anything it tends to attract higher income women. -
It may be why she invited her, to show no hard feelings. Kamala knows she blew that question, that's her fault, not Sunny's. It looks like Sunny has worked her way through her stages of grief 😊. It's good to see she has a much more reflective tone about the campaign now.

I'm impressed that in her late 60s, Whoopi can do a Broadway show multiple nights a week AND do this show during the day. I also like how the ladies support each other on their outside creative projects, like Sunny's books and Joy's plays and writings.

I think Camille's sister likely nailed the actual issue. Both Camille and Thomas are black presenting people who live primarily in "white worlds". But they may have taken different things from those experiences. Camille mentioned Thomas and his brother frequent a bar that she feels has had some race related issues. Camille's experiences have led her to stay away from places like that. So she struggles on why Thomas would frequent the establishment. Thomas might separate whatever incident(s) happened there from the bar itself. However, I do think this "culture" issue is somewhat producer manipulated. It seems to be the only thing anyone asks about. So that is what gets aired. On a previous Afterparty someone said Camille and Thomas bicker like an old married couple (impression was in a cute way). I want to see this part of their relationship.
