  1. Gen X here 🙂- There is a MAFS Facebook Group where someone with Emily's name has made comments defending herself..... So I assumed that Chloe was referring to Emily...
  2. I think fidelity would be fair concern, but not the only one. Emily's lack of relationship experience played out pretty clearly on TV. By her own admission she's been ghosted a lot. She never actually had to break up with someone. The lessons learned in a break up are also important in developing stronger relationship experience. This was her first breakup. And she acted like some people do during their first breakup (refusing to accept what the other person has said, being overly obsessed and making the other person a villian, lashing out emotionally. The difference is most people are doing this in their mid teens, not 30. After Emily's accident she confused Brennan's general concern for her well being for romantic interest. Even though he was clear he just wanted to be cordial with her. Made me wonder if she has any male friends, as she doesn't seem to know how to be friendly with an Ex or with men in general. Also may be why she accused Brennan on wanting her friend. Because she just doesn't have a healthy concept of male/female platonic interactions. Emily was kissed in a club by a stranger. She did not frame the kiss as being unwelcome, and I didn't get the impression she felt it was an assault. A person with more relationship experience would likely have set some boundaries where a man would have not felt comfortable to kiss her. (Assuming the man wasn't a complete jerk, but based on the stories told by Emily and Becca that did not seem to be the case). .
  3. The issue may have been that she ONLY has had one night stands and no serious relationships. Which may be fine in your early 20s. But by 30, that's a serious red flag when considering a long term relationship. Man or woman.
  4. I seems like toward the end, Lauren was starting to see the toxicity she had involved herself in with the pink posse. She broke ranks to tell Claire and Emily to quit interrupting and let Brennan/Cameron answer the question about the double date. And based on the previews for the where are they now episode, it seems she's completely out the circle. Other interesting tidbit was when Brennan said backstage that he regretted encouraging Emily to be friends with Claire, and that Emily initially didn't like Claire at all.
  5. Loved the experts holding the women accountable. The looks they had when Becca said they didn’t know how to come to the experts with their issues (after agreeing the experts told them to come to them with any issues) were priceless The men at least had the good sense to take some accountability and apologized to the experts for lying to them. Dr. Pia seemed to really appreciate Brendan’s apology, and she was definitely not a Brennan fan during the show. The juxtaposition between those 2 segments was interesting.
  6. I appreciated the ladies pushing back on Alyssa on what specifically Biden could do to lower grocery prices. Disappointed that she had no answer. Sunny tried to throw her a bone with an option, but she kept sputtering non specifics She also needs to find a new grocery store if she's paying $5 for a red onion.
  7. I've not always been a fan of Kevin Frazier at these reunions. But he's doing a pretty good job moderating this mess. I like that he's pretty much blaming the whole group for the optics scheme, and not falling for the woe is me, the evil boys all made us do it narrative the pink posse is trying to spin. I think Lauren is the one woman on the panel who has the best argument about being gas lit and treated poorly by her husband. But she's overshadowed by the rest of the pink posse.
  8. Bernice King was raised by her mother and family who had more insight than anyone else to her father's beliefs and writings. So yes, her perspective is relevant. I do believe the guy's writings are controversial as he seems to dismiss the ongoing implications of racism in this country. Racism does have socio-economic effects.... but there also environmental, physical and mental health, etc effects that focusing on just socio-economic issues would not address. The guy might have some great ideas in his book. But just like so many cherry pick MLK's, I have a dream speech without context, the right may be cherry picking this guy's writing to promote the narrative that Black people are not owed anything. I think that's where Whoopi and Sunny were trying to go with him.
  9. I noticed that too. I thought maybe she was adjusting to her cochlear implant while the show filmed, and now she's more comfortable with the sound of her voice.
  10. What I think Whoopi meant is a saying my elders have often said to me, "Keep on living...". Meaning his perspective may change as he continues live and grow. Colman Hughes seemed to oversimply a very complicated issue. That is not uncommon with younger people. Sunny tried to interview him as if she was the only interviewer there. That just wasn't going to work in this format. But I'm not mad at her line of questioning.
  11. Ana has said that she has type 2 diabetes. I do wonder if the anger/frustration against the wealthy who use this drug for weight loss is misplaced. In reality what the covid pandemic has show is that drug manufacturers can make drugs quickly and in mass quantities. The companies that make these drugs could increase their production if they so chose. But they don't, because they make more money from the rich paying full price for a scarce resource than from selling to insurance companies. I blame them. I'm overweight but not diabetic. And if insurance covered it I'd take the drugs too. Diet and exercise are only part of the battle. Genetics plays in role in obesity as well.
  12. I’m not a Brennan fan, but I will give him credit for not bringing up Emily’s drunken make out session with the Australian guy. Very odd the ladies tried to make the double date story a thing, knowing Emily made out with someone not her .husband This is the fifth drunken Emily story we have seen in a six week marriage.
  13. I like Whoopi. I think she's funny. She brings a certain cranky old lady vibe that I connect with 🙂. And to me she's an icon. However, I get why others view her differently than I. Is Whoopi the best moderator....probably not. But I don't think Joy is a great moderator either. She tends to cut off discussion too quickly to insert a joke. If Whoopi left, I would love to see them go back to a journalist in the moderator role. I don't agree with any of the ladies 100% of the time, but for me this is the best panel chemistry they've had in many many years.
  14. Agreed. I think most of the women come across as “performing” for the camera as well. I don’t think any of them have taken much responsibility for their role in their relationship issues either. Becca keeps saying Austin is concerned about how he will be portrayed on tv. but he’s not directly saying that. He’s saying he disagrees with her perception of his character. Even in the hidden camera apartment footage, Becca was the one who said Austin is only concerned about the cameras. The men have not spent much time speaking negatively about their wives with each other or with their friends. But all the ladies have criticized their husbands with anyone who would listen.
  15. I thought it was interesting he said his network would deal in facts and let the viewer come up with their own conclusions. Then he proceed insist his conclusion on schools, kids and covid was fact.
  16. Whoopi in particular has acknowledged the problem multiple times. But she's basically of the opinion that it's too late. There is basically no other path rather than Biden vs Trump so discussing the age thing is a waste of time.. Sunny has acknowledged the problem as well and went so far as to suggest that Biden could step down after he secured the nomination and be replaced by Gavin Newsome. Both are basically tired of Alyssa putting the onus on the Dem's to save democracy everyday. She has good points, but I'd also like her to put that same level of energy towards her own party every day. Implore the Republicans to nominate someone else and save democracy sometimes.....
  17. True. But she did come across a bit "hit dog" during the discussion. The way Alyssa spoke today, made me wonder if she is also worried that he would personally go after her if he was re-elected.
  18. I'm not so sure. The reason why Biden won the nomination, was because it was perceived that he was the only one who could be Trump. People were concerned about his age, and tendency for verbal gaffs even then. There were 10+ running on the democratic side most of them perfectly qualified for the job. I'm not confident that Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren would have beaten Trump, which makes Biden more than a potato 🙂
  19. Sarah was correct. The Dr. Dre Global Impact Award is NOT a Black artist award. It pays tribute to any artist who has used their platform to give back, past just the musical medium.
  20. So glad Sunny pushed back on Alyssa’s talking point about fentanyl and the border. Her initial inference was that the migrants seeking asylum were bringing it in. When Sunny pushed back as that being false, she then tried to back track her statement
  21. I think Sunny was on point. The country of America is not a group of people. People (native, European, African, etc) lived here before 1776 when America was created. The country of America is an entity that was created around the constitution and laws. As Sunny and Whoopi previously discussed on this show this week, racism is literally in the original constitution and explicitly stated in multiple laws up and through 1960s. So it's not an unfair conclusion for Sunny to state that the country of America was racist from the start. And while some Americans are racists, the the American people as a whole are not.
  22. Emily said that Becca tried to initiate intimacy by jumping on top of him. According to Emily, Austin batted her away and told her to get off. (According to him it was said as a joke). Brennan said that Emily got drunk and tried to break down the shower curtain to get to him in the shower, she then jumped on top of him in bed and smothered him. The implication was she was trying to have sex. He told her to stop. He was not playing when he said no and was upset by the incident.
  23. Not a good sign, when there is as much discussion of the Afterparty than the actual episode. But I'll go ahead and add to the afterparty discussion anyway 🙂 Emily said Brennan got angry after she said something he didn't like. Keisha asked her what did she say and that seemed to trigger her and she refused to answer. Sounds like she possibly said something pretty foul. But instead of saying whatever it was she turned on the tears and implied that Brennan was scary and possibly abusive (throwing things at walls). She also did the exact thing she accused Brennan of by trying to pivot the conversation with Keisha and saying she wanted to talk about something more positive. Also interesting that what she accused Austin of doing in rejecting Becca's advances is very similar to the incident Brennan described with Emily breaking a shower curtain to get to him in the shower and then jumping on him in bed.
  24. Agreed. You could tell he was a preacher's kid. Very engaging, the ladies were all actively listening rather than waiting to ask their questions.
  25. I'm can't imagine the he or someone in her past has not told her that her party girl ways are a turn off. I think he didn't want to go into it on camera with the experts because he thought it would embarrass her, but I do think/hope he told her off camera. This is the outcome many of us predicted as soon as she said that she was in her late 20s and had never been on a serious relationship (I think she said she's never had a 2nd date even) and was constantly ghosted. I think Emily knows why this happens, she just isn't interested in changing. The dating world is horrid.... but not that horrid. Generally attractive, social, and stable women can find someone to date more than twice.
