If this was any other show I would trust the writers to explain Felicity's issues with Havenrock and the reasoning behind the new boyfriend. But this is Arrow. They won't do it properly at all.

Yeah I actually enjoyed Suicide Squad. You're right, in the end the story was a bit of a mess but nowhere near as bad as the critics claimed. I'll add that I didn't enjoy the big focus on Deadshot. Maybe it's bias, but I prefer Deadshot on Arrow to Will Smith. Also, Harley Quinn and the Joker were a blast.

There are 2 things I look forward to in the premiere: Bratva flashbacks and how much Barry messed up the timeline. I suppose "look forward to" is completely the wrong wording for Barry's mess, but I'll leave it at that. Even though over and above I care about Felicity's POV and dealing with Havenrock.

Barry is someone I wanted Felicity to date in season 3. So much better than Raybot. But now? No fam. It's too late for my enjoyment. I love Barry and Felicity's friendship, they're sickly sweet and I did kind of low key ship them. But them dating now?... No

If anything that's what irritates me most. Barry going back to save his mum would ordinarily have enormous consequences to everyone else's lives. But the writers are picking and choosing what it affects and that annoys me. Rather go the full hog than one or 2 permanent changes.

What I'm hearing from the writers sounds like "Felicity has so much to deal with emotionally. Havenrock really shook her and she'll be dealing with the aftermath for the entire season. So we thought what better time to introduce a new LI." I'm a little bitter.

The more I read about the Flashpoint episodes the more weary I get. We'll see exactly how much change takes place but I have to say... I must remove myself from social media. I've always thought a what-if episode or arc would be interesting on Arrow but not permanent changes. I'm past caring about Barry but I am worried about what on earth the writers are going to do with his actions.

Yeah they shot themselves in the foot if slowing down was their intent. It's like driving a car at full speed, realizing there's a sharp turn and instead of braking, they slammed into the barrier and hoped for the best. Really now.

I really don't have an issue with slowing Oliver and Felicity down. It's the way they do it that is unappealing. Raybot in season 3 (Olicity wasn't actually that horrible), BMD in season 4. They don't have my trust that they'll write a compelling story regardless of how much "hang in there" Marc is sending our way. What was actually really interesting was Marc's feelings on people saying they can't kill the Black Canary. It was sort of like "excuse you, yes we can and we will". And big ups to OTA!!! I never realised he left tumblr because of hate. It must have been pretty horrible.

I feel like with Olicity the writers have a formula that works but then they decide they need to mix it with a lot of other stuff because a winning formula is the worst thing to happen to a show. So they might write certain aspects really well for Oliver and Felicity in season 5. But the past 2 seasons have shown they will almost certainly also write really terrible aspects. I'm sort of tired of getting excited for them as a couple and thinking "if only the writers wrote for character beats and not drama" because there's a pattern now. I can't judge yet from what I know but I do have 2 seasons of not fantastic writing to look at (with some great writing). Eh we'll see what happens.

So Barry is her Flashpoint boyfriend, and then someone else after things are kinda "fixed"? Confused. But twitter is very... Interesting right now.

EBR sort of touched on the chip in an interview I watched. I'm somewhat confused. Given that the Palmer Tech set is gone, and Palmer Tech hasn't really been mentioned, is Felicity still an employee at Palmer Tech? And if not, wouldn't it be illegal for her to work on Palmer Tech things? Perhaps I missed something. Yeah and count me in as somewhat annoyed that Oliver is ditching the work for GA things. But I guess that's what the argument is about, that he needs helps to allow more balance I his life.

I actually don't mind that Iris and Barry don't bring heat. Frankly it would freak me out. They've never been about the intense (sexual) chemistry so bringing it out now would just be awkward because they just have a lot of friendship vibes.
