Along with the rest of the nation, I discovered Mare Winningham and Richard Thomas during the 70s and they have always been two of my favorite actors. So I was pleased and looking forward to seeing Mare again when I heard about a new show called The Affair. I dimly remembered that she began her career as a vocalist so when I heard the theme song intro-ing the first episode I thought "Damn, she's still good." I had heard of Fiona Apple but wasn't the least bit familiar with her work and it was most of the way through the first season when I found out that she wrote and sang the theme. But, for real, it sounds just like Mare, her intonations and staccato way of speaking, amirite?

Oh, shoot, I would use some of that on the short cycle to clean my dishwasher. Any lemon flavor powder mix dissolves scale like a champ (and Kool-Aid is cheap). Gotta find those tricks that help!

On her solo days, I think it sometimes takes awhile for Mika to re-program to the fact that Big Daddy isn't waiting to pounce. What galls me the most about Joey is the way he too often steps on and crushes Mika when she opines, whether or not he's on a tirade himself. He comes off with little asides regarding personal opinions getting in the way of how one presents hard news. He might as well say "Libel, Mika, libel.
