They haven't yet given enough Tina/Dinah back story to justify the EPs saying that she's the fighting equal of Oliver. The show has already established that cop training and military training does not equal League of Assassins training.

One media reviewer snarked that the reason Rory was stuck back in the lair was because his superhero persona (unlike Rene or Curtis) required special effects, and they needed to use their sfx budget for the metahumans.

I have to say, I'm really tired of Arrow episodes hitting us over the head with the episode title. How many times was the term "second chances" used in this episode? I'm not sure I care about Oliver any more. He keeps saying stupid things and doing stupid things. I also found it creepy the way Oliver rejected all these qualified female candidates until he found almost a clone of Laurel. And the Laurel I remember from watching 4 seasons of Arrow wouldn't have been "proud" of Oliver and Tina/Dinah at the end - she would've been screaming that Tina/Dinah stole her life! My favorite part of this episode was Felicity meeting with the DarkWeb hacktivist, Kojo Sledgehammer, with Rory as backup - and Kojo turning out to be a Felicity clone (must be a theme) and fangirl, though she looked like a younger Root (from Person of Interest). We also learn that Felicity's former hacktivist name was Ghost Fox Goddess. The actress who played Kojo, Kacey Rohl (25-year-old Canadian), had a cute twitter exchange with EBR... Regarding the term "bashert" (used twice in this episode)... Oliver: "She's a meta with the same power as Earth-2 Laurel?" Rory: "If that isn't bashert, I don't know what is." Oliver: "What?" Rory: "'Bashert' means fate, destiny." . . . Oliver: "She can focus the sound better than Black Siren, and she is more skilled at hand-to-hand. If some fans start shipping Tina/Dinah with Oliver, they'll get social media buzz. If they re-ignite the BC vs. Olicity feud, they'll get social media buzz. Regardless of the ridiculousness of the entire set-up, the ABF* crowd is going to support Tina/Dinah becoming a regular cast member and Oliver's love interest (Dinahver?), and they will want her to become the female lead on the show. I think the ratings for tomorrow's Arrow will go up. There's no Lethal Weapon and no Blindspot airing this week. Arrow's time slot competition tomorrow night is Hunted (CBS), The Goldbergs (ABC), Law and Order: SVU (NBC), and Showtime at the Apollo (Fox). Plus, I think people will be curious about this new female vigilante with the canary cry.
