Some transcribed non-spoilery portions of SA's Mar. 2nd facebook live video (spoilery transcriptions have been posted on page 1397 of the Spoiler Discussion thread)... -- On whether EBR is likely to remain the Sally Up Competition champion, SA: -- "Likely. Likely. I worked out with EmBett last week and she's a beast. The girl's a savage. She did a spin class before we worked out, which I assume was to emasculate me. And, um, she's incredibly good at supporting herself on her arms and locking it out so that it's more skeletal, as opposed to muscular. And for that reason, I believe that she will remain champion... I'm okay with it. I'm okay with it." -- On how he feels personally about this season of Arrow so far, SA: "I feel really good. 15 episodes in. We have 8 or 9 to go. Uh, we just had our big reveal of our Big Bad last night. I'll save that spoiler for a little bit. Um, it's really, really difficult to comment on a season while you're in the middle of it because, um, it would be - I think, silly to judge it by anything other than the season in its entirety. Um, I will say that - from a working-on-it standpoint, I have enjoyed this season as much if not more than any other season of the show that we've ever done, with the possible exception of Season 1 because everything was so fresh and so new. Um, the turnover that we've had in the crew. The people who have graduated into more senior positions and the new job that they have done. Uh, the new cast members that we have. And I think that we have the deepest cast that we've ever had at any point in the show. Um, I actually just got some news about that yesterday. (Laughs) Very cool stuff. And I - I'm extremely happy with the show thus far." -- On whether having S6 excites him with all the possibilities for the show, SA: "Yes. Flashbacks take up time. By the way, not just my time, but story time that could be devoted to other things. Um, and there's a general sense of accomplishment that we set out with the idea of telling a five-year back story, which is a fairly audacious thing to do for a television show. And we got a chance to complete it... So I'm excited for Season 6, largely because I don't know what's going to happen." -- On whether there's any difference between wearing the new GA suit and the old GA suit, SA: "The original one is more comfortable. The Season 5 one is more badass. Thankfully, though, when it came time to put the Season 1 suit back on, it still fit." -- Per SA, tickets for HVFF-London in late May are sold out. -- SA: "I would say that, uh, I've noticed, um, clashing factions of the fanbase - not so much more this year than last year - uh, but, um, I would that, you know, we do make the show for everybody. Right? There is no consideration given to a section of the fanbase because, in my mind, that basic conceit is ridiculous. There should be no sections of the fanbase. I don't want to, like, get into Barack Obama's quote, but we're not a collection of red states and blue states, we're the United States. We're not a collection of comic book lore and mythos of the show. We are a collection of Arrow fans. At least we should be. And that's how we make the show. Uh, that's how I speak when I speak about the show. That's how I react when I feel like someone has taken something out of context. And, um, that - that - that's it. We do our best for you. And we have a blast doing it. So if you're going to engage in the fandom of the show, I would encourage you to do it with a modicum of levity and positivity and not rose-colored glasses. It's okay to dislike things. But, um, you know, just think what you're going to accomplish if you want to be decidedly negative about something because I don't think it accomplishes anything. Right?"

Some transcribed spoilery portions of SA's Mar. 2nd facebook live video... -- SA: "Uh, the new cast members that we have. And I think that we have the deepest cast that we've ever had at any point in the show. Um, I actually just got some news about that yesterday. (Laughs) Very cool stuff." -- SA: " I will say that episode 17 and 18 this year are probably the toughest episodes that I've ever had to shoot. Ever. In the 100 and some episodes of the show. They were incredibly, incredibly challenging and taxing for me. Which is also the reason why I haven't been around on social media as much, because that does actually take a toll on me. I mean, not Daniel Day Lewis-inhabit-the-character-take-a-toll, but I spent so much time with 'Oliver' that when he's in the shit, uh, part of me is in the shit too." -- On whether Oliver is going to see his son any time soon, SA: "We reference my son William in our next episode. So there." Fan also wrote that Oliver "basically ruined his relationship with Felicity... (SA interjected, "True") ... to have a relationship with his son... (SA interjected, "Kinda") ... but he hasn't seen him yet." -- On why his hair is getting long, SA: "I'm just trying to make it so the sideburns that I grow here, um, meet up with my facial hair. So actually, no, there's - there's no reason. Well, there might be a little bit of a reason. And it has to do with the character arc that Oliver's going through. And... another thing you may have noticed - bags under the eyes, like darkness under the eyes, in the past several episodes. Not an accident. We have a plan on the show." -- On why Oliver asked Felicity to help him with Susan Williams (in 515) without thinking about how she would feel about it, SA: "So, that's one question from the thread, but the thread was really populated with a generally thematic question, which is - Um, a lot of people find Oliver unlikeable this year, which is totally fine. But one of the main reasons is that Oliver sided with - 'sided with' Susan over Thea and Felicity. And a lot of people seem to think that this is something that has done almost like irreparable damage to his character. To which I have two responses. The first is, really? That was the straw that broke the camel's back? In Season 1, Oliver was a murderer who killed dozens of people and led his best friend down a dark path right into his untimely death. So that was pretty bad. In Season 2, Slade murdered his mother and Oliver's go-to move on the B side of it, after being powerless to stop it, was to ostensibly commit suicide by giving himself up to Slade. Guh. In Season 3, he turns his back on the team - I mean, there was a long-range plan, but he definitely did kidnap Diggle's wife, the mother of his child, put his kid in real danger, and actually put his wife in real danger too. So that was unfortunate. In Season 4, Oliver and Felicity built a relationship built on one thing and one thing exclusively - I mean, love and fun and bedroom antics - but primarily trust. And then he lied to her, aggressively. And then he lied to her again by omission. And she walked out on him. Like she should have. And he asked her to stay. And she said 'no'. And he knew that he deserved it. So I would say that that was bad too. Um, I think that those are four examples that I just came up off the top of my head from four seasons. I could probably come up with 20 more. Um, so I don't totally see how this would be the thing that made Oliver completely unlikeable. But maybe that brings me to the second thing. Uh, there has been a crack in Oliver's character this year. But now that we know that Prometheus is Adrian Chase, someone that has ensnared himself in Oliver's inner circle, has made him trust him, and has theoretically been manipulating him every step of the way, doesn't that begin to make sense? It does to me. I mean, I know more about where we're going, but even if I just knew what I knew through episode 15, it would still make sense to me. One last thing. Um, I think that Oliver was right for the way that he handled that situation in - I guess it would've been episode 514 and 515, for no other reason than he didn't that Susan Williams would've exposed him as the Green Arrow. And she hasn't. And he thought that Thea and Felicity went too far. And based on the fact that Susan got her job back, um, and the world didn't explode, they did. Moreover, I think that Oliver's underlying concern is with two parts. One, the fact that this is a microcosm of a larger pattern of behavior with Thea that has led her to want time away from not only the mayor's office, but everybody. So clearly, she is going through something similar to what she went through with her bloodlust last year. Currently, Felicity just joined a rogue technology organization that has questionable morals. And neither one of them is talking to Oliver about it. So, yeah, that would be my answer to that. It's okay not to like Oliver, but really? That's what did it? Everyone's entitled to their opinion." -- On what he thinks Prometheus wants Oliver to feel in regard to each of his relationships, SA: "Great question. So Slade was very much about taking out everyone that Oliver cared for and then taking out Oliver. Whereas, what we've seen from Prometheus - who we now know to be Chase - is that he wants to destroy Oliver specifically because of actions that Oliver undertook. So I think it's far less to do with the people who are close to Oliver in his life, and much more to do with, uh, helping Oliver see a part of himself that Chase is convinced is there. And - and maybe he's right. But, it's definitely taken an effect on Oliver this year, which has a real joy and excitement to play, for me." -- Now that we know the Vigilante isn't Adrian Chase, on whether he will be someone we least suspect, SA: "Maybe. How do we know it's a 'he'? It could be a very tall woman. But that's okay." -- On what's coming up for Oliver and Chase, SA: "It is coming to a head. If you've seen the promo for next week's episode, you know that Oliver finds out almost immediately that Chase is Prometheus. What I really like is that Chase has put himself in a position where he doesn't have to extricate himself from his day-to-day work. He can stay on as the District Attorney because he has thought so far ahead of Oliver this year. I mean, if you're planning something, and the other person doesn't know you're planning it, it doesn't make the person who's the victim of the scheme stupid. It means they're in the dark. And Adrian has put Oliver in checkmate, which is why, conveniently, the title of our next episode is 'Checkmate.' Um, and now that I can talk about it, I really have to lend a hand to Josh Segarra, who's been absolutely phenomenal to this year... not only as a co-worker, but as a friend and a fellow wrestling fan. Um, he's a really good dude and he's really knocked it out of the park. And, um, his ability to play Chase, uh, before we knew what we know. And his ability to just unleash the evil with this character post-515 has been really, really stunning to watch."

From 515... Felicity (to Asshole Oliver): "Look, I know how severely problematic what I'm about to say is - Susan is your girlfriend, so if anyone is going to fix it, I think it has to be you." Diggle: "Do you know what your superpower is?" Felicity: "Computers?" Diggle: "Empathy. Big, reflexive, pure empathy." Felicity: "Well, maybe I'm fresh out." Diggle: "Because of Billy." Felicity: "It's a dark world. And for the past four years, I have watched you and Oliver and Laurel and Thea and Roy - I've watched all of you use a little darkness to fight it." Diggle: "That's true. Sometimes we do fight fire with fire. But every time we do, Felicity, every single time, we risk being burned." (Puts hand on her shoulder in comforting gesture and then leaves)

Here's the 416 fake wedding scene as it actually aired... Oliver: "Yes. Yeah. You look perfect." Officiant: "I'd like to assure you, I won't breathe a word of what goes on here to the press. Just thrilled to be part of your day." Felicity: "Can we get this over with? (Chuckles weakly) Can't wait to be married to this guy." Officiant: "In that case, I know you've written your own vows. Felicity -" Felicity: "The vows." Oliver: "Yeah." Felicity: "Okay, um... Oliver, you have many qualities - many astonishing qualities, and I for one cannot wait to move on to the next chapter." Officiant: "All right. Uh, Oliver?" Oliver: "Felicity, before I met you, I had a plan. I had a way that I was going to be. But then you walked into my life – or I showed up at your cubicle, and you changed everything. I was in the darkness, but with your kindness, your generosity, your compassion, your intelligence, your wit and your trust, you brought me into the light. You let me know that I deserved it. You were that light. And I don't know if I still deserve that trust, if I deserve you - I probably don't. But whatever has happened, whatever will happen, the way that you make me feel is the best part of my life. (Takes out ring and puts it on her finger) You can ask me to say that I don't love you, but I will never lie to you again. You are my always, and I just want the chance to be yours." Felicity: "Oliver." (Red arrows strikes ground at their feet.) Carrie: "Hello, lovers." Oliver (to Officiant): "Run."

I was looking for this quote from The Dark Knight for my above review, so posting here as an addendum... Gordon: "He's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight."
-
Fan asked: "when you read the script for this episode what was your reaction? or did you already know who prometheus was?"...
-
Gee, Stephen, I don't think it was exactly a picnic for Felicity either - and she was paralyzed and then deceived by your character.

I hated this episode and I hated Oliver in this episode. Oliver is now too stupid and too self-centered to be the hero of this story. In addition to being a Dark Knight rip-off, it was completely unnecessary for Oliver to throw his GA alter ego under the bus. Did I miss something, or wasn't Malone's body found still dressed up like Prometheus, with the voice box strapped to his chest and his mouth/arms taped? So wouldn't that evidence plus forensics support the GA's claim that he was manipulated by Prometheus into killing Malone? Therefore, couldn't Oliver simply have told the truth (that the GA was set up by Prometheus), rather than lying and saying that the GA went rogue and murdered Malone? As for the cover-up, he could've used a similar excuse to the one he used, or he could've just said that they needed to keep the truth a secret temporarily while they attempted to draw out Prometheus. But once again, Oliver jeopardized not just himself, but also his team - since they will also be hunted by the police. In this episode, Oliver seemed less concerned about protecting his secret identity than getting Susan back as his f**k buddy (after she gets her job back, look at what he's primarily concerned about - not whether she'll keep his secret, but whether they're still dating). He was amazingly nonchalant about the possibility of Susan exposing his secret. And he has yet to question the fact that she was collecting info for an expose on him while she was sleeping with him (remember, she was the one who pursued a relationship with him). And I don't get her motivation at all. She'll keep his secret now because her reputation's been restored and she's again dating Oliver? What if he dumps her? The writers even threw in another character (like they are wont to do) to justify Oliver's actions, in this case, the doctor. So I guess Oliver is willing to kill repeatedly to keep his GA persona a secret (even as recent as 501, "no one can know my secret"), except when it comes to a woman he's slept with (Susan, Samantha) - then, he'll go out of his way to give her what she wants, even at the expense of those closest to him and who've stood by him for years. I hated the scene at the end where Oliver "thanks" his team for saving him, after he basically made the decision on his own to put them all in greater jeopardy. Oliver's good with saying the pretty words, but his actions should be what matter. But what I hated most about this episode was the treatment of Felicity. Asking his ex-fiancee to fix his love-life problem, so that he can get his f**k buddy back, is probably the most insensitive and self-centered thing that Oliver has done since last season's BMD deception. And I hate that Felicity was made to act like a doormat for Oliver and just agreed to help him, since Susan refused to take his calls, he was busy with the impeachment hearing, and Thea (smartly) refused to help him. To me, it sounded like he was asking Felicity to talk to Susan for him. And then we see Oliver running into Susan right before the hearing, so they did have a chance to talk. I guess, since Oliver killed Felicity's boyfriend and destroyed her personal life, Felicity has plenty of time to take care of Oliver's girlfriend problem and restore his personal life. Maybe next time he'll ask Felicity to buy flowers for Susan for him since he's so busy being Mayor and she has no life outside the Arrow Bunker. While watching the Oliver & Felicity scene, I almost turned off the TV in disgust. Then this episode ended in a cliffhanger threatening... Susan. Who cares? Is this supposed to make me want to return in 2 weeks to see what happens to her? Are we really supposed to believe that she really cares for Oliver, or that Oliver really cares for her? If so, then SA and CP are doing the worst acting job in the history of TV. I have to quote EW reviewer, Sara Netzley, here (see Starling City Times thread for full review): For me, Oliver's repellent behavior completely overshadowed the "shocking" reveal that Adrian Chase is Prometheus and any of the few good moments in this episode. ETA: Just want to add that Oliver was a terrible mayor last fall and Thea was doing all of his work (without getting any credit or acknowledgment). Now, because of something Human Target (posing as Oliver) took care of, and some mythical gun legislation, Oliver's apparently now the greatest mayor ever.

No worries. Yes, I meant that the way JH described Tinah's relationship with Curtis reminded me of how we used to discuss Oliver & Felicity (but without the flirty, sexual aspects). Oliver being so dark and being attracted to Felicity's light, and Felicity bringing out his humanity.
