  1. And here's Olicity-relevant dialogue from 505... (Felicity and Malone are putting their clothes back on in Felicity's bedroom at the loft.) Billy: "That was a bit more than I expected to get done on my lunch break. Is this a normal Wednesday afternoon for you?" Felicity: "Well, I had to make up for last night. I hate canceling last minute." Billy: "I got a feeling I'm gonna be the one canceling on you for a change. I got a promotion. I signed on with the ACU." Felicity: "Oliver's anti-crime unit." Billy: "This isn't gonna be weird, right?" Felicity: "Hmm?" Billy: "Me reporting to your ex-fiance." Felicity: "Yeah. What could possibly we weird about that?" Billy: "Felicity?" Felicity: "Mm-hmm?" Billy: "Does Mayor Queen know that we're seeing each other?" Felicity: "It really doesn't help if you call him Mayor Queen." Billy: "Felicity?" Felicity: "Definitely. Yeah. He's definitely - definitely aware of you." (Christopher Chance posing as Oliver is meeting with Susan Williams.) Oliver/Chance: "You give me one month with no attacks. Let me show you what I can do, and if I don't deliver... It's open season." Susan: "One month." (Scribbles something on her business card and hands the card to him) Oliver/Chance: "What's this?" Susan: "My personal cell." Oliver/Chance: "Why would I need that?" Susan: "I think you can figure it out." (Chance tells Oliver about Felicity's boyfriend.) Oliver: "So thanks for doing this." Chance: "Being killed is basically my job." Oliver: "But, uh, not just for taking the bullets. I - I heard that you got Kullens to cave." Chance: "Yeah, and scored you a very pretty girl's phone number." Oliver: "I - I heard that, too." Chance: "No, but the truth is you did that." Oliver: "I was under the impression that I've been down here all day." Chance: "I don't just put on faces, Oliver. I become my target, and to do that, I've got to learn everything there is to know about them, more than they know about themselves. I've got to become them." Oliver: "My apologies." Chance: "What for? Man, you got a great life. Heh. You're the mayor... But you'd still rather be the hood than Oliver Queen." Oliver: "Oliver Queen has - has never really been my better half." Chance: "Nobody moves forward in life when they're hiding behind a mask. Trust me. You know, it's why you're struggling as mayor, and it's probably why you won't call that girl." Oliver: "That's not the reason." Chance: "Listen. I'm the last person to give dating advice, but Felicity has moved on. You should too. You didn't know. Sorry. Uh, earlier today, I met with a detective who just joined the ACU, uh, Billy Malone. He casually mentioned that he was seeing Felicity, seemed to think that you knew." (Felicity is standing on the balcony at night, when Oliver literally drops down.) Oliver: "Hey." Felicity: "Hi." Oliver: "Um, thanks for letting me swing by. I know it's - it's late." Felicity: "You do remember that this apartment has a front door, right?" Oliver: "Well, front doors are more for people who haven't just faked their own death." Felicity: "Good point. So what's up? Your message sounded cryptic." Oliver: "Sorry. I - I wasn't sure if I should say anything at all actually." Felicity: "That couldn't wait till tomorrow?" Oliver: "Why didn't you tell me that you were seeing someone?" Felicity: "Well... maybe on some crazy subconscious level, I was worried you'd show up on my balcony in the middle of the night. Sorry. Snark probably isn't appropriate to hear." Oliver: "I'm totally fine that you're seeing someone. But I'm hurt that you didn't tell me." Felicity: "I'm sorry. I - I meant to, and then every time I went to go bring it up, I just sort of, like - I just chickened out." Oliver: "Why? Were you - were you - were you keeping the door open for us, or -" Felicity (quickly): "No. Of course not. No. We're - you and I work together, and I just - I didn't want to make it a thing, you know, until it was something - something... real." Oliver: "Is it real?" Felicity: "I don't know." (Oliver's cell phone beeps.) Oliver: "It's John and Rene. They have something." (Oliver and Chance are in the mayor's office, when Felicity enters.) Chance: "With Church in custody, I take it that your identity's safe." Oliver: "I hope so. Thanks for the assist and the personal insight." Chance: "It's just part of the service. (Felicity enters) Ah. Speak of the devil." Felicity: "Oh, am I the devil now?" Chance: "That would definitely be my cue to leave. Take care." (Leaves) Felicity: "Sorry to drop by unannounced." Oliver: "It's not like you need an invitation." Felicity: "Yeah. No. I know. I just- just between us, things have been a bit complicated - I mean, complicated's probably not the right word - it's not the wrong word." Oliver: "I want you to be happy. And in the spirit of that, I think that you owe it to yourself to find out if what you have with Billy is... real, and I owe it to myself to embrace whatever's next for - for me when I'm not -" (Makes hand gestures like putting on hood) Felicity: "Yes. The... Err!" (Makes hand gesture) Oliver (laughing): "Yeah." Felicity: "It's funny. That's what I came here to say to you." Oliver: "We're usually on the same page." Felicity: "About a lot of things. (They stare at each other for a moment) All right. Uh, heh. Mmm. Yes. I will see - I'll see you... later." Oliver: "Mm-hmm." Felicity: "Thank you." Oliver: "You don't need to thank me." Felicity: "Yeah." Oliver: "I care about you. And I will always care about you. It's a mortal lock."
  2. So it went pretty much as I expected (that is to say, badly)... Oliver & Felicity gave each other the blessing to date other people. Felicity is still dating Malone. Susan Williams gave 'Oliver' (Christopher Chance) her personal cell number, which Chance passed on to Oliver and then encouraged Oliver to move on and call her. Rene was rescued and felt guilty because he told Tobias Church under torture that Oliver was the Green Arrow. Diggle and Rene had several heart-to-heart talks, and Diggle encouraged Rene to work out his redemption like him, by donning a mask and fighting with the team. Chance posing as Oliver was shot and Oliver's fake death was announced to the public, in order to find out Church's scheme. Church was defeated and captured, and he told Oliver that Prometheus is coming. Oliver's being alive was then publicly announced. Church was killed by Prometheus while being transported, but not before Church told Prometheus that Oliver is the Green Arrow. Susan met with a CI, who gave her a photo of flashback Oliver with some Bratva guys in Russia from five years ago, when Oliver was supposedly still on the island. Oh, in one of the flashbacks scenes, Oliver's sitting in a bar with Anatoly and eyed a blonde woman sitting at the end of the bar. It totally looked like Oliver was going to hit on her (wonder where his Laurel pic was stored). IMO, once again, Felicity was thrown under the bus to serve the plot and to prop up Oliver. Here are the two key Olicity conversations from 505 (videos courtesy of Arrow)...
  3. From SA facebook chat yesterday (Nov. 2) - I don't think he said anything spoilery enough to warrant spoiler tags... -- They finished 510 and are starting 511 "today." They also had to do a pick up a scene for 509, which is their "Christmas episode." -- In response to fan question of what's going on with Felicity and whether that's completely over now, SA: "Uh, Not that I know of. We still work together. You know, it was - it was actually - it did have a shipping name before it was actually a relationship." ETA: I'm tired of all the hate all over the internet nowadays. I know lots of "casual fans" who enjoy the Olicity relationship on Arrow.
  4. From the Seat42F video... SA: "I don't know if he’s ready to move on, but it's time for Oliver to have another relationship. We actually had a moment - we had a moment earlier this year and I was speaking with Wendy Mericle, and I'm like, ‘Look, guys, there's two things that we're no longer allowed to write about Oliver. We’re no longer allowed to call him a billionaire because he’s been broke for three years. Right? Not broke, but not a billionaire. He’s lost his family’s fortune. So, we’re not allowed to say billionaire anymore.' I said, concurrently, we’re not allowed to say playboy. He has dated one woman since season two. And, you know, he hasn't even - I mean, he had a fling with Isabel Rochev, that was it. Stop writing playboy. If you like him to be a playboy, then, by all means, start writing him like one, and then we can do it. So, I think that it's - you know, I've had a couple of scenes with Carly, who's doing a great job as Susan Williams, and I do think that it's - that there'll be some exploration of a certain element of romance between the two of them and I hope that - I hope that it's - I hope that people enjoy it because I've found it to be really dynamic so far." SA: "I thought that Oliver was fine, if not slightly confused, that Felicity didn't tell him that she was dating someone. That wasn't ever - I wasn't actually a huge fan of the idea that she wouldn't say something because of, you know, all the reasons that their relationship fell apart last year, which was secrets being kept. So, um - to me, when I played those scenes tonight, it was like, 'Hey, you know, we work together, so if you’re keeping anything from me, anything, why? You know, is it because you don't trust me? You don't trust me, is that a problem?' So, to me, it was really about getting to the source of what her issue was. It was less about Oliver and it was more about, you know, 'Are we OK? Are we good? Because now it’s not just you and me down there. We have John back in the fold, we have Thea operating the political axis of Star City, and we have these new recruits who look for us for guidance, so let's make sure that as the... theoretical leaders of the team, that we are on the same page.'"
  5. @quarks, thanks for remembering all of the other female characters that have appeared on Arrow over the past four seasons. Clearly, your memory is superior to mine.

  8. OK - so let's take a look back at all regular or recurring female characters on Arrow over the previous 4 seasons... Oliver's Love Interests/Hook-ups: Laurel Lance Sara Lance Helena Bertinelli Mackenna Hall Shado Isabel Rochev Felicity Smoak Oliver's Relatives (Not Love Interests): Moira Queen - mother Thea Queen - sister Wives/Relatives of Oliver's Friends (Not Love Interests): Dinah Lance - mother of Laurel and Sara Carly Diggle - Diggle's sister-in-law and love interest Lyla Michaels - Diggle's wife Donna Smoak - Felicity's mother Tatsu/Katana - Maseo's wife Too Young (Not Love Interests): Sin - teenager and Roy's friend Evelyn Sharp - teenager Baby Sara - Diggle's daughter (now deleted) Remaining Female Characters (Not Love Interests): China White - villain Amanda Waller - head of ARGUS Nyssa al Ghul - frenemy and Oliver's LOA 'wife' Ruve Adams - villain and Damien Darhk's wife Taiana - Oliver's flashback friend (tho' originally supposed to be love interest)
  9. Susan Williams - unverified spoiler that Oliver has a one-night stand with her. Tina - possibly misleading 'casting sides' that indicate she's a love interest for Oliver. New Black Canary - see comics. Talia al Ghul - ?
  10. It's based on past experience when it seemed like almost every new female character who came on the show ended up sleeping with Oliver. Of course, it would be nice if this wasn't the case this season.
  11. Yeah, but doesn't this seem reminiscent of Seasons 1-2, when they wanted to move away from Oliver/Laurel and kept throwing new women in with Oliver? BTW, Lexa Doig is 43! Hard to believe. And she's married to Michael Shanks... https://twitter.com/lexashmexa
  12. Gee, lots of women for Oliver to hook up with this season - I guess we really are going back to Oliver's basics.
  13. That latest 505 sneak peek video confuses me. I recognize Tobias Church and Prometheus, but who's the third guy (who protected Church)? Talia al Ghul coming to Arrow is very possible. According to a recent Wrap article, there are no plans to include Talia or Ra's al Ghul in the new Batman movie or any upcoming DC film. So her character is available for TV.
  14. Now there's a Game 7 of the World Series tonight - wonder if that will significantly depress ratings for tonight's Arrow episode.

(Aug. 18, 2016 TVLine article in MichaelAusiello tweet, page 42 of Spoilers thread) -- MG teased that 505 is "probably the most Olicity-centric episode we will have done in Season 5 so far." MG: "There's a very Olicity-heavy scene in [episode] 5. They're adults. At the same time, it feels a little like Season 1... I honestly don't know how many shows have done this where you've gotten two characters engage, broke them up, but still kept them together on the show as partners." (Aug. 16, 2016 IGN article, page 42 of Spoilers thread) -- On whether 505 will be a good Olicity episode, MG: "First, my definition of an 'Olicity' episode is one that focuses on them as a couple – be that past, present or potentially future. Fans who enjoy their story will enjoy the episode. Fans who want them to get back together in that episode will be disappointed." (Oct. 10, 2016 MG tumblr post, page 46 of Spoilers thread) -- MG: "I still stand by my statement that Episode 505 contains, in my opinion, a very Olicity-ish scene." (Oct. 10, 2016 MG tumblr post, page 46 of Spoilers thread) -- On when the secrets come out that Felicity has a boyfriend and that Felicity is working with Green Arrow, MG: "It’s the classic thing of no secrets stay a secret forever on Arrow. Oliver is going to find out about Felicity’s boyfriend in Episode 505. Because I’m spoiling that, I’m not going to spoil when Felicity’s boyfriend finds out that Felicity is working with Arrow." (Oct. 19, 2016 Collider article, page 47 of Spoilers thread) -- From jbuffyangel: "Marc [Guggenheim] said that Episode 5 is a HUGE Olicity episode. I asked him if Oliver was giving up and he said, 'No! No no non no!' ... So then I asked, 'But are we going to see a rebuild?' And Marc smiled and said, 'Yes.' And then I said, 'Oliver’s still working on becoming the man that Felicity wants and needs??' He smiled and said, 'Yes. Absolutely.' Then I said, 'But it’s going to be a process? A long journey?' And he smiled again and said YES." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: jbuffyangel recap of conversation with MG, page 40 of Spoilers thread) -- On whether Malone should be scared of Oliver's reaction, WM: “I think Oliver and Felicity have evolved to a place where they’re going to be okay about that, but I think Detective Malone is moving into some dangerous territory in other ways, so we’ll see what happens." Added SA: “Detective Malone should not be afraid of Oliver. Detective Malone should be afraid of his connection to Felicity." On an Olicity reconciliation, SA said that "you’re either romantically involved or you’re not.” SA: “Oliver and Felicity, in my mind, are reconciled. Everything’s on the same page with them. Everything’s on the table. They’re just not together." (Oct. 26, 2016 GATV article, page 47 of Spoilers thread) -- WM: "[Felicity] is not with Oliver. They have broken up. We’ll get some answers in Episode 505, but we’re leaving them fairly ambiguous at the start of the season." (Oct. 3, 2016 IMDB article, page 45 of Spoilers thread) -- On the status of Olicity, WM: "It's still a partnership. I mean, the way we left them in the bunker at the end of last season was somewhat ambiguous and we will kick them off in a similarly ambiguous state. That said, you will find out some more right around episode 5. And, you know, I think we're just going to let the characters kinda take us where they will." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: Video of Arrow panel and Comicbook and TVLine articles, page 40 of Spoilers thread) -- On Olicity this year, WM: "Good question. I think that... in the past, we've really - one of the reasons that relationship happened was we wanted to write to the chemistry that was obviously palpable on screen between Stephen and Emily, and also really honor who those characters are, and [unintelligible words] leave them ambiguous at the end of season 4. And you'll see them stay ambiguous for awhile. You'll get some answers - Olicity fans will get some answers in episode 5. Beyond that, we're going to write to see - you know, we're going to write to them the same way. If they take us in the direction of reconciliation, great. If not, we'll see what happens... You'll find out a lot more clarity in episode 5... on Olicity." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: Seat42F video of press roundtable interview with WM, page 40 of Spoilers thread) -- WM: "I know Olicity is a very sort of lightning rod of controversy on the internet. We left them in a very ambiguous way at the end of season 4, and I think we'll get some clarity in the first five episodes, particularly in episode 5 of season 5. But, by the same token, we really - one of the reasons that relationship happened is we could really write into those characters and write into Steve and Emily, and we're going to do the same thing in season 5. We're going to kinda let the characters tell us where they want to go, and we'll see where we end up." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: DC Comics News video of press roundtable interview with WM, page 41 of Spoilers thread) -- In response to question about how they will deal with the tension with fans who are staunchly Olicity and fans who are staunchly anti-Olicity, WM: "What's interesting about Olicity is, it's become this big - as everyone knows, this huge thing online and everyone has taken sides. But for us, it was really a byproduct of you cast someone like Emily Bett Rickards and there is obviously chemistry and you start to write to that. And it really felt in seasons 3 and 4 that, if you didn't go in that direction, it was going to do a disservice to the show and to the characters. And so we leaned into it, we went that way, we saw what it could do, and in season 5, we're going to do the same thing, which is, we left them ambiguous at the end of the season and, I will say, you will get some clarity in episode 5 of season 5. But even then, we're going to be - we are going to be exploring it in, actually in real time, to see where the characters are taking us, and where we feel like the best stories are going to be told." (SDCC, Jul. 23, 2016: Showbiz Junkies video of press roundtable interview with WM, page 41 of Spoilers thread) -- On 505, SA: "Oliver and Felicity discuss a little bit about the relationship and, you know, where it is in this week's episode. Fun scenes." (EW PopFest, Oct. 29, 2016: Steam Pug and prince mojo videos, page 215 of Mind Your Surroundings thread, and Entertainment Weekly article & video clip, page 216 of Mind Your Surroundings thread) -- Fan's tumblr post purported to have inside source that revealed that after Oliver finds out about Felicity's new boyfriend (in 505?), he has a one-night hookup with the female reporter played by Carly Pope, but immediately regrets it. Same source also said that female reporter leaves show by 507. (CleanQueen and dtissagirl posts, page 1180 of Spoiler Discussion thread, and wonderwall post, page 1181 of Spoiler Discussion thread) -- Carly Pope tweeted: "And just like that, care of the @ARROWwriters, she became an unabashed fanboy overnight... #505." (Aug. 6, 2016 CPope tweet, page 1115 of Spoiler Discussion thread) -- Per her IMDB page, Carly Pope is in 503, 505, 506, 507 and 509. (CPope's IMDB link in tv echo post, page 1199 of Spoiler Discussion thread) -- MG: "In the first five episodes, we face head-on the decision that Felicity made [that led to the destruction of Havenrock]." (Sep. 9, 2016 Entertainment Weekly article, page 43 of Spoilers thread) -- On Havenrock, EBR: "She's carrying this huge amount of guilt, and she's not letting it go in any way. All it's doing is festering up and around episodes 3-5 [of Season 5] we're going to see her break." Also, because of Havenrock, EBR understands that Felicity can no longer be light. (Sep. 1, 2016 NKD Magazine article, page 1129 of Spoiler Discussion thread, and page 467 of Social Media thread) -- SA: "Flashpoint, uh, does affect Season 5 of Arrow. In, um, a subtle way at the beginning and maybe more at the end. And you'll get it - um, episodes 3, 4, 5-ish." (HVFF-San Jose, Aug. 28, 2016: Video of full SA panel, page 1 of Season 5 Spoiler Archive thread) -- Per DR, Diggle's new Spartan mask is revealed in 505. (HVFF-San Jose, Aug. 27, 2016: coyotepunch tweet, page 43 of Spoilers thread) -- DR said that he got to wear his new Diggle mask "for the first time yesterday on set. I peed a little... You can finally see Diggle." It was originally supposed to be a Star Labs creation, but he thinks it's now a collaboration between Curtis and Star Labs. DR: "And it can do stuff, man... There's a digital readout. You can see things and maybe see through walls and stuff. And it also gives massages - it's awesome... I don't know if it has x-ray vision... That was a joke. It can do a lot of things, the producers told me. I know that it can see far away, it has a binocular quality, but I don't know if it can see through walls." (HVFF-San Jose, Aug. 27, 2016: Video #1 recorded by steven alvarez, page 1 of Season 5 Spoiler Archive thread) -- On Tobias Church, WM: "He has a huge agenda, which we'll be seeing part of the culmination of in [Episode] 5. And I think what he speaks to is the state of the city. When we come back to Star City in the beginning of Season 5, it's suffered multiple terrorist attacks, but unlike in the beginning of Season 4 when people were leaving in droves, people have come back. They're living there now, but there's a power vacuum. Damien Darhk is gone and a bunch of criminals have risen to fill those ranks. Vigilantes have also popped up to take him down, but unfortunately, they're not as skilled as Oliver is, and they're creating more problems then they're solving and the city is in a state of crisis. Church is coming in to capitalize on that." (Oct. 2, 2016 TV Guide article, page 45 of Spoilers thread) -- On Aug. 19, 2016, SA said that they were shooting Episode 97. (SA facebook video, page 463 of Social Media thread) -- On Aug. 19, 2016, Arrow production office tweeted b-t-s pics of underground sewer grate and shooting outside a building.
