Indeed. Why couldn't they just kill off laurel? Then everyone could be happy.

Sara! No!!!!!! Shaw? I don't know what I think of this. Oliver needs to get out of his head. Diggle is adorable.
  3. Politics sneaks into this show not infrequently so I wouldn't be surprised. I agree with those who would much rather see Penelope dealing with having shot someone instead of focusing on the death penalty which she has nothing to do with because as pointed out you can't get it for attempted murder. I would love to hear what all the families of the people who were actually murdered think of this nonsense. Also I'm not sure you can even wave a trial in a death penalty capital murder case so this whole think makes no sense. It seems like they would have a trial regardless.
  4. I did not plan to watch this show, but then I saw that it had Ben Mackenzie so I've caught little snippets of the past two episodes, and I've watched this episode now. There is a lot to like about the show. Several great character actors, of course. I think what I like best is the tone of the show and the look of it. It's got an old school look while also managing to be modern. It's gorgeous to watch! I am really liking the partner and the penguin. This story this week was just ok but all the character moments make up for it. I lived baby catwoman slipping her handcuffs and Alfred and batman fencing.
  5. Me neither. I was expecting much worse from the reviews and have seen much worse so I am sort of mystified. Not that it was fantastic or anything, but I love Maggie and I think it has potential, just depends on how it's handled.Reading about the twitter stuff, I wonder how much of this is people who got pissed off at Williamson or other behind the scenes stuff.
  6. I have no idea why this woman is still getting work.
  7. I think Dylan's character being inappropriate with Maggie is on purpose. Maybe I'm giving this show too much credit, but he was shown to be a stalker as well and in the interview was constantly saying the wrong thing. I think he's supposed to be "off" and that's part of it. I agree that it's interesting to see what people unfamiliar with Maggie will think of her. She is the sole reason I'm watching this show and I think a stalking show has the potential to be fantastically creepy and NOT gory if they do it right. If they can make this an old school noirish creepy thriller I will be thrilled. I don't know if that's what they are going to go for but I will give it a few episodes because of Maggie and the promise shown with the roommate situation. The gasoline/guy with a mask stuff seems all a Williamson scream shoutout, so maybe it won't be a recurring feature.
  8. I forgot Williamson was involved with the following. I had to quit that show because it was so disturbing. I agree with you about McDermott, I have never enjoyed him as an actor but I am holding out hope he is supposed to be creepy, which would fit. There were a ton of reasons for maggie to dislike him.
  9. I hope that is the point personally. I love Maggie q and wanted to love this but I wish the casting were different. Elizabeth rohn???? That isn't promising. I know there was a lot of talk of this being exploitive of women but I liked the inclusion of the male victim story. I found that one far more compelling and creepy than the female storyline. More of that and the show might turn out ok. (And even though I found the whole convo about Maggie's shirt inappropriate, it was not exactly appropriate for the office either. Not because it was silk but because it was awfully low cut)
  10. I actually love those choppy bobs! I liked Jennifer well enough, I think she has a warm presence onscreen. But not nearly enough spencer!!!!! I think leaving him out of the scar convo was deliberate, because he was rubbing his neck earlier and maybe it will be a thing? The case was gross, but I was glad the girl actually managed to get away on her own. Kinda
  11. I think it's a combination of bad writing and acting. A lot of women on tv are either written to be too "sassy" or in other ways that don't fit I guess in an attempt to make them strong? (And combine that with some element of bad casting or casting solely on looks). A fair but of it is just bad writing for women I think. Felicity comes across as very real to me. Yes they made her fantastically smart in her field but they haven't tried to make her perfect. She has realistic flaws and vulnerability. I think ebr does a great job as well of bringing a lot of layering to her character. But then I love the main three (Diggle/arrow/feleocity). I like Sara mostly. I like Thea. So this show is doing a pretty good job with all the women except IMO laurel. Maybe if writers channel all the bad writing cliches onto one character and they can do a fine job with the rest. I also love feleciity because she has natural easy chemistry with the other cast members. It didn't hurt that she was a bit sarcastic with Oliver without being mean.
  12. Exactly! She was part of the team before she even realized there was a team.
  13. Jennifer love Hewitt, right? That's an odd choice. I'll see with Blake. I'm only a couple episodes into the season. I don't enjoy her dynamic with Reid so far and they came on annoyingly strong in the first few episodes, marginalizing the original cast a bit IMO. But we will see. I just had hoped we were done with recasting after s6. I liked Emily better than hotchner.
  14. Just picked up this show on netflix this summer and holy casting changes! After they reset s6 I thought we were safe but I just got to s8 to discover that Emily is gone. I this show has terrible writing much of the time but paget was one of the actors who really brought life to the whole thing so I am sad to see her go. This Blake stuff is not promising!!!
  15. Do they make the contemp do tap? Or ballet really? Last I remember, they used to make the hip hopers do everything else ( although they didn't have tap, ballet, etc in the early seasons). I love hip hop and find contemp a snore. I also love ballroom. I haven't been watching much this season but I thought tonight was boring. Although I actually enjoyed Rudy's routine and the twitch routine mostly for twitch but the ballet girl kinda sorta held her ownish. I thought comfort was great as usual but her routine sucked. I was shocked to see that girls samba praised so much because she looked all wrong to me! On mj, I had no idea Wade was personally hurt by him! I am going to have to look that up. I do think America's best dance crew had a Michael Jackson special that was a hell of a lot better than this one and less fawning. This was kind of the wrong crew of contestants to talk about Michael influencing their dance anyway and with the wade thing? Bad choice all around IMO.
  16. So far, really not impressed with the music choices.
  17. The stableboy was going to drag her to the people who killed her father and I think she was bluffing with hot pie. That's what mean, it was all justifiable. she didn't kill hot pie and he started the whole fight anyway.
  18. He likes killing fat boys? What are you talking about.Aryas killing this far has been more or less justified as far as concerned. Masie was fantastic this episode. The Hound definitely took the wrong tact with her.
  19. That is mostly how I see it as well. The books are brutal, because a war with this much destruction in a similar setting would be brutal. Hell, look at how much rape and murder of civilians occurred when the Germans marched into russia and when the Russians marched back in WWII. I do think the show does a lot of dwelling on girl nakedness and not boy nakedness and that's in them but I don't think the books are that way. The sexual violence against men is bad as well- all the unsullied and varys and even though I hate theon the reek stuff all hurts my heart in a similar way as the rapes do. I also don't think the show has done a terrible job with the main character women except for Cersei. But I don't know what the hell they are doing with the lannisters anymore. I am with the poster above who is confused by their arc. I think the Tysha thing fucked up Tyrions adult life and relationships with women so much that to have her be the catalyst made sense to me in a way that Shae doesn't. I am also very disappointed that we did not get a Tyrion and Shae conversation, although I like that she reached for a knife. That fits her personality. It did not make Tyrions actions self defense to me although I may have to give that scene a rewatch. He could easily have left the room.
  20. Exactly!!! Otherwise what the hell was Tyrion doing? Why would he go to Tywin's room. Just to gripe at him about the trial? He's already done that. I just thought that removing that made the whole thing make no sense. And I don't care if Tywin calls Shae a whore because she was a whore Tyrion called her a whore too. I can't see him killing his father for that. Tysha, on the other hand, was NOT a whore and because of the circumstances I completely understood Tyrion killing Tywin over that comment (much as people see to have hated Tyrion musing on where whores go, I thought his killing Tywin after Tywin's saying that made so much sense. Because god was Tywin a dick). So I don't mind editing on the show, but they need to make sure the characters still have a reason to do the things they do, other than 'it happened in the books and it was awesome'. It was awesome in the books because it made sense! Here it didn't. So disappointing. LOL! Drogon ruins everything. Those dragons were adorable. It was so sad that you had to chain them up, but shit, they were already killing random sheep. Is there some reason Dany didn't think she needed to fix that or that it might get worse? She needed to watch 'How to Train Your Dragon'. Maybe she should have crate trained them as babies and got them used to regular feedings.
  21. I didn't think he was whitewashed, except with Shae a bit, but I was very disappointed they made it all about Shae and not Tysha. And the Jaime confrontation was completely left out. There were important repercussions there, and although I'll be happy not to have Tyrion spend the rest of the time plotting against Jaime and being mad about it, I did want him to know about Tysha and reflect on it. Everything else I loved. I love Arya so Arya goes to Bravos was a pretty great ending for me. I loved the Children of the Forest and the mummy fight. Loved everything at the wall, loved the Brienne/Hound fight (although it went a bit long). The only thing that let me down was KL. Even the Tywin killing was pretty unexciting. I just wanted to hear 'whereever whores go' is that really too much to ask, show? Does this mean we are never going to run into Tysha later on, because I keep thinking we will in the books.
